Geography

Repalle is located at 16.02°N 80.85°E / 16.02; 80.85. It has an average elevation of 7 metres (22 feet).

Repalle starts at Ankamma Chettu, a tree that is in the old town area closer to the old fort and ends at Isukapalli from east to west, and starts at Peteru and ends at Aravapalli from north to south.

Demographics

As of 2001 India census, Repalle had a population of 104190. Males constitute about 50% of the population and females 50%. Repalle has an average literacy rate of 69%, higher than the national average of 59.5%: male literacy is 72%, and female literacy is 67%. In Repalle, 10% of the population is under 6 years of age.

Transport

Repalle is the terminus for the Tenali-Repalle line of Guntur division. It has regular passenger train services to Tenali, Guntur and Hyderabad. It has a bus depot. Bus services are available for all villages around Repalle. After Penumudi barrage is complete, Repalle is connected to Krishna district through bus services. The railway station and bus stand are next to each other.

The bridge is set in picturesque surroundings and is longer than Vijayawada's Prakasham barrage.It is the second longest bridge in Andhra pradesh.
