The International Dunhuang Project group at the British Library are planning a multi-day, multi-language, editing programme from 23rd to 26th October 2012 focused on the broad theme of Central Asian history and archaeology. As well as contributions from IDP staff and interested Wikipedians, we're hoping to get involvement from external academics and students. We are also planning to upload plenty of images during the event so please let us know if you have any image requests .
It will be hosted inside the British Library staff areas, at the Dunhuang Project offices on the upper ground floor. This allows us to have easy access to the reference collections and to the Library's book stock, as well as provides the possibility of displaying original material. However, it does mean you will need to let us know if you plan to attend! We've got various visiting groups booked, but Wikipedians are welcome to come by any day during the week. Expertise in the subject is not required...
Monday 22nd October (provisional) - offsite workshop in Birmingham with a student group
Tuesday 23rd October - no group scheduled
Wednesday 24th October - afternoon, MA students from SOAS
Thursday 25th October - morning, student group from UCL
Friday 26th October - no group scheduled
More details will follow as they are organised. If you would like to be notified of the plans as they are finalised, or want to register an interest in attending, please sign up below, or email andrew.gray bl.uk
