The 2013 NHL Entry Draft will be the 51st NHL Entry Draft. All seven rounds of the draft are scheduled to take place June 30, 2013, at the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey.[1][2] Beginning with the 2013 NHL Entry Draft, all fourteen teams not qualifying for the Stanley Cup playoffs have a "weighted" chance at winning the first overall selection.[2] The Colorado Avalanche won the 2013 draft lottery that took place on April 29, 2013, thus moving them up from the second pick to the first pick.

6 or 7 Carolina Hurricanes Pittsburgh Penguins Carolina will receive a seventh-round pick if Jussi Jokinen plays in at least 25% of Pittsburgh's games in the 2013 Stanley Cup playoffs and Pittsburgh makes it to the 2013 Stanley Cup Finals. If he plays in at least 50% of Pittsburgh's games in the 2013 post-season and Pittsburgh wins the Stanley Cup, Carolina will receive a sixth-round pick. If neither condition is met Carolina will not receive a pick. Carolina acquired this pick in a trade on April 3, 2013 that sent Jussi Jokinen to Pittsburgh in exchange for salary retention and this conditional pick.[88]
7 Anaheim Ducks Calgary Flames Anaheim may receive this pick; conditions unknown.[89] Anaheim acquired this pick in a trade on June 30, 2010 that sent Logan MacMillan and a conditional seventh-round pick in 2013 to Calgary in exchange for Jason Jaffray and this conditional pick.[89]
7 Calgary Flames Anaheim Ducks Calgary may receive this pick; conditions unknown.[89] Calgary acquired this pick in a trade on June 30, 2010 that sent Jason Jaffray and a conditional seventh-round pick in 2013 to Anaheim in exchange for Logan MacMillan and this conditional pick.[89]
7 Nashville Predators Washington Capitals Nashville will receive a seventh-round pick in 2013 if Taylor Stefishen appears on Washington's reserve list as a signed NHL contracted player for one day or more during the 2011–12 or 2012–13 seasons.[90] Nashville acquired this pick in a trade on June 2, 2011 that sent Taylor Stefishen to Washington in exchange for this conditional pick.[91]
