Mikhail Youzhny career statistics
This is a list of the career statistics of Russian professional tennis player, Mikhail Youzhny. To date, he has won nine ATP singles titles, and nine ATP doubles titles. Youzhny is currently ranked within the top 30 by the Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP).[1]
Youzhny had a fairly successful junior career, reaching a career high junior ranking of world no. 20 in early 2000.[2] He reached the junior Australian Open final in 1999, losing to Kristian Pless of Denmark.[3] He became a professional in 1999, and won four futures tournaments that year.[4] In 1999, he played in his first ATP Challenger tournament,[4] and would go on to win his first, and only, Challenger tournament in July 2000 against Jan Frode Andersen from Norway.[5] While he debuted at the ATP World Tour in 1999,[4] Youzhny would go on to win his first ATP title in July 2002 at the Mercedes Cup against Guillermo Cañas from Argentina.[6]
He is one of the few active players on the ATP tour who has reached the reached the quarterfinals of all Grand Slams.[7] He has reached a Grand Slam semifinal twice, both at the US Open, in 2006 and 2010.[7] While chiefly a single player, Youzhny has reached the quarterfinals of a grand slam in doubles, at the 2006 U.S. Open.[8] He debuted within the top 10 in January 2008, but ended the year as a top 10 player for the only time in his career in 2010.[1] Currently, Youzhny has won 424 matches, trailing behind fellow Russian players Nikolay Davydenko (455 wins) and Yevgeny Kafelnikov (609 wins).[9]
