did he legally change his name to Narwuar the Human Serviette?

I thought he was born in 1968?

FA?

I think this might be worthy of Featured Article status. Anyone else? DS 12:55, 18 September 2005 (UTC)[reply]

I don't think it's long enough...Adam Bishop 15:50, 18 September 2005 (UTC)[reply]
I don't think he has enough notability to be FA (even in Canada) SD6-Agent 10:09, 27 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Name reverts

I'm not sure who the user at 154.20.148.186 doing the name changes, but I'll pretty much guarantee it's not Nardwuar; we had a talk about his real name being here, and he accepted my explanation of its validity. Hopefully this isn't some deranged fan like those involved in the horrible revert war over at Cruxshadows over Virgil's pseudonym. Xinit 13:55, 3 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

  • Speaking of his name, that bit about him legally changing his name to Nardwuar sounds like nonsense to me. And in 1986? C'mon. Yes, he uses Nardwuar as his public name, but it isn't his legal name. Leviathanbus 08:12, 8 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Health?

Hey, who removed the health section? I also note that no one's restored it... are there any thoughts on whether or not it belongs? DS 13:35, 11 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Nardwuar the ultimate investigative journalist

What's missing from this article is any mention of the insane amount of research Nardwuar does on bands before he interviews them, so that he can ask them questions that scare the hell out of the interviewees. He often knowns facts about bandmembers' pasts that they have a hard time recalling until he coaches them along. This seems to be one of his trademark techniques. It ought to get a mention.

Picture?

A pic in this article would be nice. Abeg92 21:37, 29 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Yeah, I had one in there, but I didn't express the copyright properly so it was deleted; I'll have to get the image again.... -- Xinit 00:20, 30 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Could you snag one off his presskit? JonnyChance 00:53, 1 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Speedy Deletion / Vanity Page

What's with all the deletion requests on The Evaporators, Nardwuar, and related pages? Notability has been established according to WP:MUSIC. -- Xinit 14:42, 6 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Promo

The article reads like a promo page. 209.217.96.177 15:55, 8 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

And the way address your concerns is, presumably, vandalism and munging his birth name. Very mature. Ianking 16:47, 8 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Coffin Full of Tar

I'm reading the interview w/ Crispin Glover now, and the question is actually "And do you have a coffin filled with tar too?" He doesn't mention anything about sleeping in it.

http://www.nardwuar.com/vs/crispin_glover/transcribed/

The question is toward the bottom of the page. You can search for "coffin" if you want to jump to it. OhSqueezy (talk) 00:19, 3 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

File:Nardwuar1-photo-rgb NR.jpg to appear as POTD soon

Hello! This is a note to let the editors of this article know that File:Nardwuar1-photo-rgb NR.jpg will be appearing as picture of the day on February 24, 2011. You can view and edit the POTD blurb at Template:POTD/2011-02-24. If this article needs any attention or maintenance, it would be preferable if that could be done before its appearance on the Main Page so Wikipedia doesn't look bad. :) Thanks! howcheng {chat} 23:34, 22 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Nardwuar the Human Serviette
Nardwuar the Human Serviette is a Canadian celebrity interviewer and musician. Born John Ruskin, he legally changed his name in 1986. His interview style is eccentric and will often confuse or anger his interviewees, although others will play along. He has also attended press conferences to ask surreal questions. As a musician, he is the lead singer and keyboardist for The Evaporators and has contributed to the UNICEF benefit song "Do They Know It's Hallowe'en?"Photo: William Jans

Crispin Glover a politician?

Isn't the question about a coffin full of tar, asked of Crispin Glover out of place. It is on the section titled "Political Interviews". As far as I know, Crispin Glover is not a politician. Am I missing something? Van Vidrine (talk) 16:06, 24 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Ah, good point; Ernest Angley isn't a politician either. I've renamed the section to 'interviews with non-musicians'. DS (talk) 15:55, 25 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Eccentric or esoteric?

At the start of the fourth paragraph in the Interview section it says "Due to his upfront and esoteric style, he has been attacked verbally..." but maybe it should be eccentric? - deviating from the recognized or customary character, practice, etc.; irregular; erratic; peculiar; odd: eccentric conduct; an eccentric person. rather than esoteric - understood by or meant for only the select few who have special knowledge or interest; recondite: poetry full of esoteric allusions. Crispin Glover not a musician?

The "Political Interviews" section has been changed to "Interviews with non-Musicians" but Crispin Glover has released an album.
