Clicked "save" and the article is up, with footnotes, but I don't see the sub-head "References" or the list of 10 footnotes -- is this automatically generated, or do I have to go back and edit the page -- and if so, how do I get in to edit? Thanks! Jim Weed. — Preceding unsigned comment added by James Weed (talkcontribs) 14:33, 26 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]

I've fixed that for you in this edit. Note that the page is not submitted for review until you click the "click here" in the box near the top. Arthur goes shopping (talk) 15:01, 26 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Review of Wikipedia talk:Articles for creation/George Hogarth Pringle

Hello I am just checking to make sure my article is in the queue for review. It was submitted January 20th and I haen't had to wait this long before. ThanksPapamac (talk) 15:47, 26 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Yes this is still awaiting review. Unfortunately the backlog is even larger than usual. Arthur goes shopping (talk) 16:32, 26 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, not sure why Wikipedia talk:Articles for creation/Chicago Department of Public Health was declined because reliable sources could not be verified. It's similar to https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/New_York_City_Department_of_Health_and_Mental_Hygiene and https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/California_department_of_public_health. In fact I used the same templates. I work at the Chicago Department of Public Health (fingerprinted and background checked and appointed). I used the city website as the page - having someone else cite the website doesn't improve validity. The website is the city's only authorized website. The logo I uploaded was made by us. I am authorized to use it. Not sure what else I can do to convince you that this is a real government department. It's also world renown in public health for it's programs, innovations and accreditation which I planned to add as I find the time. I also find it ironic and can use the exact same argument that APerson used, who doesn't have a real identity associated with their username, including a valid photo, name, background and verifiable work history offline. It has to work both ways for this to work at all. Thank you. Reedmonseur (talk) 17:44, 26 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Looking at the article, it only has a total of two non-independent sources. However, it seems to me that notability is good, so there really is no reason not to create the article at this point. Article was created. APerson (talk!) 19:15, 26 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]

hi i am new to wikipedia just added a article. title: psipred or PSI-Pred. its still in sandbox. its being rejected 3rd time. i know it might be below wiki standards but i am still learning. its so much complex i mean every thing need an entire page to explain. just to put a sig using 4 tides it has an entire separate page. just a para would have being sufficient to explain sig.

its just that can u explain main parts like interacting with people and editing efficiently in short. why is my article rejected its not mentioned on my page. how to use talk page and user page Demi lion (talk) 18:04, 26 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]

This is with reference to Wikipedia talk:Articles for creation/Devyani Khobragade. The contribution has been declined due to "Reads like bullet point list instead of flowing prose." I would like to respectfully point out that the article is about a notable subject currently in the news, has two dozen citations from leading news sources, and is well laid out. I believe that once the article is approved for inclusion in the Wikipedia, its prose can be improved by contributors. I would like to respectfully request that the article be approved. Hi,dear wiki,

I'm a student from UMASS. Editing an article on wiki is an important project of my graduate course "Popular Culture and Technology". I am supposed to hand in a report of the viewing history of my article due the beginning of April. If I failed to publish the article on wiki as soon as possible, I wouldn't be able to gather the data and comments which are prerequisite of my preparation for the final project.

I know all you guys are volunteers with heavy load of other important jobs. But could you please kindly considerate my request for getting my paper reviewed sooner? I'm a new comer from China. English is my second language, please forgive me if I do not make myself clear and please don't hesitate to contact me if there is any question.

Looking forward to your reply!

Yours,

Hi,

I would like to check what type of sources will be counted as notable sources? My references are all taken from the state media's publications and yet it cannot be accepted. Thanks.

(John AKM (talk) 07:27, 27 February 2014 (UTC))[reply]

Some ideas on the sort of sources that are best for proving notability can be found at Wikipedia:VRS. In more detail at Wikipedia:Identifying reliable sources. One thing to note is that press releases or material based on press releases, as some of your existing sources seem to be, are not useable in proving the notability of a topic. Can you suggest me how to create the page for the same. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 27.251.213.164 (talk) 12:09, 27 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Your first step should be to read Wikipedia:Conflict of interest. Arthur goes shopping (talk) 13:03, 27 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]

I am having trouble understanding why my article has been rejected for notability. Seven out of eleven sources are secondary sources from trusted industry outlets, so there is a variety of reliable sources of information. The rejection feedback also mentions that there should be clear evidence as to why this article is worthy of inclusion in the encyclopedia, and in addition to the various secondary sources referenced, the company's direct and indirect competitors have Wikipedia pages as well - so firms in this industry have already been deemed worthy for inclusion. Jenniferarpr (talk) 16:58, 27 February 2014 (UTC)jenniferarpr[reply]

The industry may be notable, but companies must be notable in and of themselves to be included in Wikipedia. (See WP:ORGIN for more information.) Anon126 (talk - contribs) 20:32, 27 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Hi All,

I simply cannot figure out how to create a new article. I currently have one pending for review, but have others I'd like to create.

Any direction would be appreciated.

Thanks, Jackie — Preceding unsigned comment added by Ehmeejay (talkcontribs) 20:00, 27 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]

You can create a new article by going to User:Ehmeejay/Your new article name and selecting the option to create the page. You can add {{subst:submit}} to the top when you're ready to submit it for review. If you're not ready, you can add {{subst:AFC draft}} to the top, which will give you a button to submit it later. Review of E System Design new page

i need some help.

I tried to minimize issues and copied Nimbic's company web page (EDA companies). Once copied, I then changed all of Nimbic's specific information to ours and thought it would be accepted. Unfortunately it was not. So my "low risk" plan failed!

Any suggestions?

Thanks, 99.9.19.0 (talk) 02:38, 28 February 2014 (UTC)Bill[reply]

It would be useful to have a link to the page that you're asking about.
In general it is not a good idea to base a new article on the format and layout of a related existing article. Instead, have a look at existing recognised Wikipedia Good Articles to see what sort of coverage could be aimed at. Links to Good Articles about businesses and organisations can be found at Wikipedia:Good articles/Social sciences and society#Economics and business. Arthur goes shopping (talk) 10:33, 28 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]
You should also read Wikipedia:Conflict of interest. Arthur goes shopping (talk) 10:34, 28 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]

I am REALLY confused. The entire list of EDA Companies and the associated pages (like my page that was denied that provide additional details) are generated by employees or contractors of each EDA company to help answer question and market their wares. Any person searching in EDA companies is looking for tool suppliers and the types of tools they develop, sell and support. Which I thought was the intent of Wikipedia: to catalog information that can quickly answer anyone's question. Are all of these pages about commercial companies that sell tools, services, etc? YEP

If you want to look at an approved page. Do a search for "EDA Companies". This should pull up a list of EDA companies. I believe all of the company names except for E-System Design you can click on to go to their own Wikipedia page. Do this on Nimbic's. That is that page I modeled ours after since we develop similar tools.

Sorry to be a pain, but it seems like a different set of rules are being applied vs other posting in these pages. 99.9.19.0 (talk) 22:51, 28 February 2014 (UTC)Bill[reply]

Hello! I am really struggling with my first Wikipedia entry: Wikipedia talk:Articles for creation/Charles R. Conn - I keep being told "This submission's references do not adequately evidence the subject's notability—see the guidelines on the notability of people and the golden rule. Please improve the submission's referencing, so that the information is verifiable, and there is clear evidence of why the subject is notable and worthy of inclusion in an encyclopedia." - I keep adding new citations and I can't think of anything else to do! Is there a way of asking an experienced wikipedia editor to assist on a project as I think it is my inexperience which is letting this page down and I feel quite dispondent about it. Babettet (talk) 09:15, 28 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]

What is he notable as? An academic? A fundraiser? Being a professorial fellow at Balliol College might maybe be somewhere near meeting Wikipedia:ACADEMIC.
The "List of Wardens" is out of place in the article about Conn, even though it is useful (for this discussion only) in showing that people in this position tend to be notable academics.
It is rather difficult to work out which of the references you've added are actually contributing to proving his notability. So for example the Nick Anderson piece in the Washington Post is permissible as a source to support the fact that a particular important event happened during Conn's tenure, but it doesn't actually mention Conn himself at all. Neither does the other Washington Post piece. Adding more sources related to the organisation Conn works for doesn't help prove notability, in fact it makes it harder because the reviewer can't see the wood for the trees. There's nothing to indicate that Idahonaturenotes.blogspot.co.uk is a reliable source. Citing material written by Conn in the references, for example the Conservation Biology piece, causes confusion because what the reviewer is looking for is material written about Conn. The same goes for listing the homepage of the Gordon & Betty Moore Foundation as a reference - it doesn't mention Conn at all. And so on. Arthur goes shopping (talk) 10:27, 28 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]

(talk)Thanks for your reply Arthur - he is notable as an early tech entrepreneur and as Warden (CEO) of the Rhodes Scholarships which is an important position within the University of Oxford and within academia - it funds 83 Scholarships to Oxford every year. 'Supporting evidence' would include his position as Aspen Fellow and Balliol Fellow. Is there a way of asking an experienced Wikipedia editor to take this on? I thought adding more links was a good thing, but it seems like I just keep doing the wrong thing! One the page Wikipedia: Your first article it states: 'Recruit help: Seek out a sponsor (volunteer editor) who has worked on similar articles' - how would I do that? Thanks!! Babettet (talk) 14:38, 28 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]

You could try asking some of the people listed at Wikipedia:WikiProject University of Oxford, but do check whether they're still actively editing or not otherwise you may not get much of a reply. Arthur goes shopping (talk) 14:49, 28 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]

I am responding to the answer that was given to me yesterday (above): If the competitors are notable, then why isn't the company they directly compete with? I've added in additional secondary sources referencing the company after each rejection. If I add even more secondary resources and include them in the submission, will this article then be acceptable? How many are required?72.16.218.22 (talk) 14:29, 28 February 2014 (UTC)jenniferarpr[reply]

I've gone through the references. Many of them are press releases, which are not independent sources that can demonstrate notability. (See the general notability guideline and the guideline for organizations.) Also, as I said, sources that only discuss the industry without mentioning this company in particular do not count, either.
Filtering out these two groups, what remains is Internet Retailer, Website Magazine, and Technology Association of Georgia. These do not constitute "significant coverage." There is no set number of sources required to show notability, but the idea is that a subject is notable if most to all information can be found in independent sources. If an article were written about ShopVisible based on these sources alone, it would contain very little. Anon126 (talk - contribs) 22:21, 28 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Why my article was declined? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Jeangustavee (talkcontribs) 01:59, 1 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]

The reason is given in the notice at the top. In short, you have not shown notability of the person. Notability generally means that a person has been discussed in independent, reliable sources of information, such as news articles, magazines, television, film, and so on. (See the general guideline, the guideline for people, and the guideline for music for more information. Any one of these may be used.)
To show notability, you should cite these sources. See the introduction to referencing or referencing for beginners to learn how to do this. Anon126 (talk - contribs) 03:53, 2 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]

What is wrong with this? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Helloworld781 (talkcontribs) 06:11, 1 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Nobody has touched it in six months, all you need to do is edit it, or simply hit the "Submit" button. Roger (Dodger67) (talk) 08:27, 1 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]

I was wondering what I need to do to improve my submission for approval. The page I created mimics and links to similar, relevant pages. The band I created it for has and has had several notable musicians and the page, I feel, was prepared better than the pages for its sister bands. Cbwagner20 (talk) 14:44, 1 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Wikipedia talk:Articles for creation/Oscarwildecat

Though I've edited before, this is first time I've created a new article! I've created the new article in oscarwildecat sandbox. Warning box at https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User:Oscarwildecat/sandbox/Friends_of_Sabeel%E2%80%94North_America_%28FOSNA%29#Request_review_at_WP:AFC says "This page should probably be located at Wikipedia talk:Articles for creation/Friends of Sabeel—North America (FOSNA) (move) or Draft:Friends of Sabeel—North America (FOSNA) (move)."

Which should I choose? Once there, should I just leave it for someone else to review? Thanks so much for your help Oscarwildecat (talk) 19:53, 1 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Don't worry about it, a reviewer will fix it. Roger (Dodger67) (talk) 09:09, 3 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Hi There -- I'm new around here and would like to get some feedback about my first article, Wikipedia talk:Articles for creation/Hans Bauer (writer). The subject is the original creator of the film franchise Anaconda (also the lead writer on a number of other films with stars such as Richard Gere and Jim Caviezel). The article was rejected for referencing and notability. I think notability fits the criteria for creative professionals: "The person has created... a significant or well-known work, or collective body of work... that has been the subject of... a feature-length film..." I provided in-line citations and referencing to newspaper articles, as well as external links to the Internet Movie Database (IMDb), which is used as a reference in virtual all film industry articles on Wikipedia. Also I noticed that the secondary writers on the original Anaconda film -- the writing team of Jim Cash and Jack Epps -- each have articles with no in-line citations, no referencing, and each have only one external link, to IMDb. So I'm a little a confused about the varying standards and could use some advice. Thanks! Zocalo361 (talk) 22:23, 1 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Need help - creating Articles for: Sayo Kosugi (March 2)

Hi,

I've been having some troubles couple of times submitting the article about Sayo Kosugi. I used all the info discussing with the person (Sayo Kosugi) and have confirmed with her using the texts. Sorry I'm still too new to this community and learning by doing. Thanks for your help!

Questions are, - would it be possible to use the same text that the author/person who has the copyright to claim? - on which part of the article actually was the violation of copyrights? unless specified, I have no idea which clause to update

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia_talk:Articles_for_creation/Sayo_Kosugi — Preceding unsigned comment added by Makwn (talkcontribs) 06:55, 2 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]

If the copyright holder wishes to give permission for content to be used on Wikipedia, donating copyright materials details the process. Keep in mind, though, that Wikipedia is free content, so this donation means that anyone can use the material with few restrictions. If the copyright holder is not willing to allow that, then the material should be summarized in different words. Anon126 (talk - contribs) 23:17, 2 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Review of Kirkibost Bernera

I wanted to write a piece about this interesting village partly because the link referring to it in the article about the island (Great Bernera) in which it is situated took you to a completely different place (ie Kirkibost North Uist). That was a factually incorrect piece of information but it along with some other factually incorrect information on the page for Great Bernera seems to be accepted as true. For example local knowledge on places on that island are discarded in favour of mis-spelt Ordnance Survey place names. Also Kirkibost does not get the recognition it deserves in this piece. When I tried to edit that piece it was simply discarded by someone who is obviously not local and has no local knowledge.

It is hugely frustrating that this is just rejected with no explanation why? Unfortunately I don't really have time to work out how to create links and cross referencing so I'd really need some assistance with that. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 31.53.229.34 (talk) 08:21, 2 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Only published sources can be used, local knowlege means nothing if it has not previously appeared in a Reliable source. This is necessary so that anyone can Verify the claim, unfortunately "ask a local" doesn't work. Look for articles in local newspapers or magazines. HOW DOES THIS WORK?????? I AM TRYING TO SUBMIT ARTICLES AND I HAVE SPENT HOURTS TRYING TO PLEASE YOU GUYS....HOW DO I DO IT???? Earthoceans (talk) 08:45, 2 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, Earthoceans. I have combined your queries under one heading. I'm assuming from your talk page that you are referring to Wikipedia talk:Articles for creation/Chronogenetics and an article you created directly, AFRICA UNITE PARTY. Voceditenore (talk) 09:17, 2 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]
I'll start with AFRICA UNITE PARTY which you created yesterday for a political party which was founded only a week ago. The article was speedily deleted for unambiguous and blatant promotionalism, and failure to credibly indicate the notability of the subject. Having seen the cached version of the article, both are correct assessments. However, it would also have been speedily deleted as a blatant copyright infringement. It was copied verbatim from http://www.travelblog.org/Africa/South-Africa/Western-Cape/Cape-of-Good-Hope/blog-826851.html. It also had no references at all, and quick search indicates that coverage of this brand new party is virtually non-existent outside of blogs and other self-published sources.
As for Wikipedia talk:Articles for creation/Chronogenetics, we cannot accept an article which consists wholly of original research and has no references from reliable sources to support any of the claims made in it. However, The subject is a notable one. See [1] and [2]. I suggest you now spend your time adding reliable sources to the draft before you go any further. and that you look at an article like Chronobiology, to see the type of sources and writing that are required.
I think you'll find Wikipedia:Your first article very helpful as to how to get off of the right foot and avoid some of the pitfalls you have fallen into. You need to be patient both with yourself and with other editors who are helping keep Wikipedia free from non-compliant articles. Most importantly, take your time with getting these things right. The encyclopedia isn't going to run away. Best wishes. Voceditenore (talk) 09:48, 2 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]

i am getting a bit impatient because i have been trying time and time again to submit a simple article only for it to be refused each time...why? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Earthoceans (talkcontribs) 09:54, 2 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Please see my answer above and please do not keep creating new sections each time you post. Voceditenore (talk) 11:05, 2 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, sorry to bother you. I've submitted an article "Andrew Jarvis" which has been moved to "Wikipedia talk: Articles for Creation/Andrew Jarvis".

There's a notice saying that the Wikipedia page "Andrew Jarvis" already exists, and I've looked at it, and it's a different man. I've written on Andrew Jarvis, the actor. Do you think I should change the Wikipedia article name? I'd like to keep Andrew Jarvis if possible. But if I had to change the title, it would be "Andrew Jarvis, actor".

What would you suggest, under the circumstances?

Best Wishes,

Gillian PiggottGillianpiggott (talk) 12:24, 2 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]

No, you can leave the name as it is. When the article is accepted, the reviewer will change the name to something like Andrew Jarvis (actor). Anon126 (talk - contribs) 23:03, 2 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]

I have created a draft of an article about an important, emerging company in a significant space in the software industry. It was rejected upon review for lack of verifiable sources. Some of the most important sources I cited are third-party industry analysts who put their content behind paywalls. While this content is easily available outside the paywalls, I did not feel when writing the article that quoting those "outside the paywall" sources for what were otherwise "inside the paywall" quotations was appropriate. I also checked Wikipedia guidelines and found that sources behind paywalls are allowed because the rules do not state that content has to be free or easily available. I am concerned that the reviewer just said "no" because the links did not immediately lead to the content he/she expected to find.

Any advice on the best way to handle this?

Intheairalot (talk) 23:27, 2 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Even if the Spend Matters article is a substantial one that supports the content cited to it, I think there would be a good argument to say that notability is not made clear in this submission. Business Week likes to list lots of business-related things in listings; Gartner and Forrester like to rate lots of business-related things in various categories... such listings and ratings seem to me to be trivial rather than significant coverage. Hello, I would like someone to help with my article. I have read over footnotes and referencing time and time again and cannot do it. Is there anyone I can pay to help? I am really quite desperate. Thanks (Diane Tremarco (talk) 00:58, 3 March 2014 (UTC))[reply]

You seem to have gotten the hang of adding footnotes, but there are just a few points (which I've fixed):
  • The <ref>...</ref> tags should go outside the brackets and after punctuation:
[[Example link]].<ref>(Citation)</ref>
  • The "title" field is for the title of the article, "work" is for the name of the website/magazine/newspaper, and "publisher" is only needed if it differs from the work. The "last name" and "first name" fields are for the author.

Hi,

I was just wondering if you could help me.

I have recently submitted an article which is now being reviewed, called Highbury Theatre Centre, however in the history my IP address is still visible. I have set up this account afterwards as I didn't want my IP address available. Is there anything I can do in order to remove my IP address entirely from Wikipedia and existing pages?

Many thanks,

Jack

Jack, all but one of the edits from that IP address is to that article submission. If the submission is declined, then ultimately the article submission will be deleted, which will make the IP edits invisible to anyone except administrators. Hi,

I'd like to know why my submission has been denied a second time.

I have added more citations which are independent. I'm still being told they do are not "reliable." Not sure, even after reading the article about sources - what is enough.

I've seen plenty of articles that seem to have less "reliable" sourcing that are up on the site. So I guess I'm confused about what the standards are for having an article published at all.

Thanks,

Emcampbe

Ecampbe (talk) 03:53, 3 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Emcampbe. The basic standard for article notability is Wikipedia:General notability guideline.
Looking at your article submission, all of the references you've provided (except for a youtube video) are either provided by the organisation itself, or provided by its partners and donors. These are not independent by Wikipedia's standards.
The content in the submission also currently seems very promotional; listing of foundational values largely copied from the organisation's own website, and so on. Arthur goes shopping (talk) 10:11, 3 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. Seeking some advice. Wikipedia talk:Articles for creation/Draft:Gold Coast Parklands was declined due to notability and referencing. I'm unsure of the next step. It's been an important sporting venue and public space in our City for years, but perhaps it's not a notable enough? A visit to the local library yielded additional resources as there was little available online. Perhaps that's the problem? Any suggestions most welcome. Thanks! Coastal.culture.vulture (talk) 06:58, 3 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Sources don't have to be online to be useful as references in proving notability. In fact, some reviewers would consider significant coverage in a reference book published by a large publishing house to be more use in proving notability than an ephemeral piece on an online news site.
Some ideas for changes:
  • At present anyone reading the article has to reach nearly the end of the third sentence before learning what Gold Coast Parklands is. This is why suggestions for article drafts often start "Gold Coast Parklands is a..."
  • Some of your references are bare URLs, and some are just a bare URL with a title. It can help to include more detail, for example author's name, date published, publishing organisation and so on. Using citation templates is one way to do this; see Wikipedia:Citation templates.
If Gold Coast Parklands remains as the venue for a significant part of the infrastructure for the 2018 games, then there's likely to be a steady stream of news articles between now and then. You can resubmit the draft using the blue resubmit button when you're ready. Arthur goes shopping (talk) 09:53, 3 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]

I have submitted this article twice (with a substantial number of changes between the first & second drafts). I am sure there are good reasons why the article is being rejected, however I don't understand what I need to do to resolve the issues. Some points which may be relevant:

  • An article on this subject had been requested before I became a Wikipedian.
  • I believe the article satisfies the following:
A musician or ensemble may be notable if it meets at least one of the following criteria:

5. Has released two or more albums on a major record label (Criteria for musicians and ensembles)

  • The producer of the albums, Rupert Hine is definitely notable, and this is some of his very fine work.
  • The band had some (small) success in the U.S. with their second album, which I am still trying to find reliable evidence for.

Like the reviewers, I don't want this article to be included if it is not ready. Whether the article is accepted, at a future date or not, I will be continuing the quest for better quality references. Any help with these problems would be greatly appreciated. Have a great day.CaesarsPalaceDude (talk) 08:42, 3 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Wrong article decline

The article Wikipedia talk:Articles for creation/jEmbryoS was declined as not complaining with notability guidelines. But it completely resembles the situation with another article (jNode) , which was not declined and contains information about a system of the same class - the Java Operating System. No notability differences exist for two systems. Then here is the question - why the jEmbryoS article was declined ? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Alexbav4anystuff (talkcontribs) 10:32, 3 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]

I responded to the comments of Anupmehra concerning the article "Ronald Aronson" by placing all references according to the system indicated in references for beginners as he stipulated, and then removed all references to other Wikipedia articles. The revised and resubmitted article was then read on March 1 but not accepted by Aggie80 because of "copyright violations." I wrote to him and asked him to be specific about copyright violations so that I might remove them.

While waiting for his response, I looked for the March 1 revised article. The comment by Aggie80 had included the following: "If you would like to continue working on the submission, you can find it at Wikipedia talk:Articles for creation/Ronald Aronson." The URL was: https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Wikipedia_talk:Articles_for_creation/Ronald_Aronson&action=edit&redlink=1 So I went there following the instruction: "To edit the submission, click on the "Edit" tab at the top of the window." I did that, but all I could find was the message to me typed by Aggie80. And now, after emailing Aggie80 I find that there is no longer an "edit" tab any more. I cannot find the March 1 article anywhere. Can you help?Leninmartov (talk) 18:08, 3 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]
Your article has been deleted, because Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously. What you can do is rewrite the article in your own words by going to the articles for creation main page and creating a new article draft. Anon126 (talk - contribs) 20:20, 3 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Wikipedia talk:Articles for creation/Lescason This drfat article on 'Internalization theory' appears to be an early draft of an article that has already appeared in a revised version that was submitted by someone else with the same title 'Internalization theory'. Attempting to contribute to Wikipedia is quite simply a waste of time. Which is ok, but I won't ever use Wikipedia again either. The time to get in was how many years ago? 5, 10, 15? Y'all should be upfront with that, rather than encourage morons like me to waste my time here. Oh, do any of you have the slightest expertise in what I'm interested in? Of course not, so it can't be interesting to anybody, right?

I give up.

Hi there,

Can you let me know why this article was declined?

I work for the Production Company who created the show (and Moody Christmas) so all episode synopsis were actually written by us but perhaps the refs were not adhering to your policies??

I assume it is 'notable' as Moody christmas is up there and I tried to follow the format and tone of this entry.

Happy to make all the necessary adjustments to get it up.

Thanks in advance.

A minor note: I've changed the title and formatting of your question. I hope you don't mind.
The reasons for your article being declined can be found at the top of the article. In short, you should change the way you cite sources. Wikipedia allows for different ways of citing, but one way that should be avoided is simply providing a URL, which can lead to linkrot. Good citations include information such as the title, author, date, body of work (such as a website, newspaper, or magazine), and so on. The link that the reviewer provided is to the introduction to referencing, a good tutorial for learning how to cite sources. Anon126 (talk - contribs) 04:00, 4 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]

This may not help you much, but apart from anything else, the wording is still way too promotional. Just picking out one section at random, we have "leading artistes", a "prestigious" orchestra, and a "foremost exponent" - none of these being justified as a direct quotation from an independent reliable source. Even if the content is trimmed to the point where it can be properly sourced, this promotional wording would need to be completely removed throughout. My article was not accepted due to the subject (composer/performer) being considered insufficiently notable. However, I believe the criteria for notability have been met:

1) The composer's works and recordings have been reviewed by numerous independent sources around Australia including major newspapers (Canberra Times), Australia's premiere music magazine (Limelight Magazine) and major online music media (Resonance magazine, AU Review and Sounds like Sydney).

2) The composer is represented by the Australian Music Centre - representation is reserved only for signficant Australian composers and can only be attained via a rigorous peer-review process.

3) The composer's work is featured on the websites of internationally reknown ensembles, orchestras and performers who have performed his work.

4) The composer has been a finalist for a major national composition prize.

5) The composer is the subject of scholarly work discussing his innovations and new approaches to Latin-American influenced classical music.

6) The composer is on staff at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music, the largest tertiary music education institution in the country.

These seem to fulfil the criteria for notability several times over - if the criteria have still not been met, can you please clarify what additional information would be required to demonstrate notability?
