Handy tip about talk pages

Read WP:OWNTALK. Users are allowed to delete comments off their own user page if they want. Because it's their own personal page the rules are different to the rest of wikipedia.Bosstopher (talk) 22:45, 7 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks Bosstopher. Just wanted to warn this user about it too. It is not worth edit warning on Users talk pages as it is against policy. It would be wise of you to disengage. Thanks Avono (talk) 22:49, 7 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Welcome!

Hello, ToonLucas22, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Here are a few links to pages you might find helpful:

Please remember to sign your messages on talk pages by typing four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically insert your username and the date. If you need help, check out Wikipedia:Questions, ask me on my talk page, or click here to ask for help here on your talk page and a volunteer will visit you here shortly. Again, welcome! Avono (talk) 22:52, 7 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Stubs

Please take care not to waste other editors' time by adding {{stub}} to an article which already has an appropriate specific stub tag. And please also note that stub tags go at the end of the article, not the top - see WP:ORDER. Thanks. 10:32, 8 January 2015 (UTC)

Twinkle

Hi there! Thanks for your recent vandalism reverts! I thought I'd let you know that there's a handy tool that allows quick access to many functions, Twinkle. As you're autoconfirmed, you can use this tool, if you so wish. You can enable it in your preferences. Once you've enabled it, you should see a TW tab next to the "More" menu. Additionally, you can configure this tool on this page. Happy editing! George Edward CTalkContributions 17:09, 8 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Please explain your revert of my edit

Please explain your revert of my edit at Template:X-Men because you did not offer up any explanation besides "Was correct", which means almost nothing after my lengthy explanation in the previous edit summary, which I am fully correct about. I do not want to violate the 3RR or start an edit war, but I proved that she was a member and you deleted it almost immediately after I explained it, why? 71.121.241.118 (talk) 02:01, 9 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]

You didn't provide a link, which caused the edition to be incorrect. --ToonLucas22 (talk) 02:03, 9 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]
You can't put links in edit summaries, so how could I have done it? Like I said, it was referenced years ago in the edit summaries because references aren't used in templates, edit summaries are the only place to do it, which I did. It's not my fault the other user didn't go back and look far enough. It's proven on the talk page now, so she can be added back. 71.121.241.118 (talk) 02:13, 9 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, can we get rid of the statistics? Because it looks like it has been empty for 5 years.173.206.5.42 (talk) 02:24, 9 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, ToonLucas. I understand that your intentions were good, but you're mistaken about removing warnings.[1] Users are allowed to remove anything from their talkpage except denied unblock requests and a few other oddities. You should not restore posts that they remove. Note especially that edit warring to restore them is a really poor idea, and can get you blocked. See WP:BLANKING. Bishonen | talk 10:01, 9 January 2015 (UTC).[reply]

Do not edit others votes please

Which part was the self promotion? I noticed that you reverted yourself later, but either way, you are not supposed to edit others comments or edits on talk pages. Hafspajen (talk) 10:15, 9 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]

That was a mistake. Sorry. --ToonLucas22 (talk) 12:27, 9 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]

I did not do it.

You gave me a warning. Here is my response:

That is strange. Honestly, I did not do it intentionally. When I tried to make a post, somehow I encountered an error, and then the Wikipedia Foundation(?) showed up. I went back and refreshed, but the templates were all gone! I swear I did not do it intentionally! I really don't know what happened! Can you excuse me for this incidence? 71.79.234.132 (talk) 01:01, 20 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Oh, sorry for failing to assume good faith, when huge content gets deleted (specially on talk pages), I tend to take them very seriously and give the user who deleted the things a 4im warning level. But don't worry, the deleted content was restored. My apologies. --ToonLucas22 (talk) 01:04, 20 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Your message

Wait, what did you mean I edited/vandalized other messages? I didn't touch anyone else's stuff. I got an edit conflict, and I pasted my message back in at the bottom. Oh, and that *was* the reference desk I was asking on, thank you very much, so asking me to move my question there is a bit redundant. --Borat is very nice (talk) 01:19, 20 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]

@Borat is very nice: You replaced "cloud" with "butts" on other's messages, which was considered unconstructive and was therefore undone. --ToonLucas22 (talk) 01:20, 20 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Oh my god...I am so sorry, I know why that happened. I'm using the Firefox extension "cloud to butt" https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/cloud-to-butt-plus/. I didn't know that it would mess up wikicode too. Can I uninstall that extension and ask the question again? I also fixed your response, which the extension messed up too.--Borat is very nice (talk) 02:10, 20 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]
@Borat is very nice: You may wish to disable or uninstall that extension because it's messing up talk pages and main pages (and can possibly mess up the page Cloud too). You may also wish to report that extension to the Mozila Firefox developers to block it and prevent further irrelevant information on your talk page. --ToonLucas22 (talk) 02:24, 20 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Already done, thanks. --Borat is very nice (talk) 02:33, 20 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Jan

I am not saying you are not allowed to do it. All I am saying is that it is a cowardish move to do that while we are in conversation, as you cannot back up your points. Vaselineeeeeeee (talk) 21:04, 20 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]

But I still have the right to delete sections from my User talk page, as told by WP:BLANKING. Please refrain from restoring this section any further. --ToonLucas22 (talk) 21:10, 20 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]
So you are pretty much agreeing that you are acting like coward and that you have no points to back up your argument and that it should remain. Vaselineeeeeeee (talk) 21:12, 20 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Well, league information seems pretty much unnecessary to me, so it's best not to put that on football player pages. --ToonLucas22 (talk) 21:15, 20 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]
So what I am gathering is that only your opinion matters and not mine, so your opinion is greater than mine so you should be allowed to revert my additions but if I revert yours it is considered editwarring? Weird and unfair how that works isn't it? Vaselineeeeeeee (talk) 21:16, 20 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]
It's actually best to resolve the thing on the talk page rather than attempting to continuosly revert edits. --ToonLucas22 (talk) 21:18, 20 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Could you please restore Andrea Pirlo and Alessio Cerci articles do what it was before the edit war without serie A. I could do it on my own but dont want to risk getting blocked for breaking 3RR or edit warring. QED237 (talk) 23:23, 20 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Problem

You tagged the image as soon as it was uploaded. Didn't even give me the chance to add in all the details. As well, you tagged it for deletion when you are supposed to use the tag below. Don't make hasty decisions like that. Very amateurish. WWE Batman131 (talk) 21:40, 20 January 2015 (UTC) [reply]

Hello ToonLucas22 (talk · contribs). Regarding some of your edits at the edit warring noticeboard, it appears that you are making decisions reserved for the administrator team. An example of such an edit can be found here. While we encourage outside input and thoughts from non-administrators, decisions regarding whether or not a violation took place and an appropriate response should be left to an administrator. The noticeboard is called "Edit warring" after all, meaning that we are not simply looking for violations of the three revert rule. Thanks for understanding, Tiptoety talk 23:42, 20 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Oh, sorry, I thought these templates were for when someone was blocked or already blocked, but not for exclusive administrator use. Sorry. --ToonLucas22 (talk) 00:46, 21 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Unreliable contribution

Hitenray09 had submitted entire plot without any reliable reference . Instead of targeting me you should ask him where is his source. What i did was necessary as the user was submitting unsorced material--Frost The World (talk) 15:38, 22 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Oh, but you could have put an edit summary anyways, something like "remove unsourced". --ToonLucas22 (talk) 16:03, 22 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]
It would not have been true to say "remove unsourced", because what Frost The World removed was not just the text but also the reference. As it happens, the text was a verbatim copy from the reference, and therefore a blatant copyright violation which would have been the correct grounds for removing it. I have warned Hitenray09. --David Biddulph (talk) 16:14, 22 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Why have you deleted the user homepage "Themillionselfiesite"? It is just a description of the website as it is a new social media and not an advertising!! — Preceding unsigned comment added by Themillionselfiesite (talkcontribs) 14:47, 4 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]

I have not deleted it, I just tagged it for speedy deletion, and I did it because it appeared to be unambiguous advertising or promotion and therefore meeted speedy deletion criteria WP:G11. --ToonLucas22 (talk) 14:59, 4 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Hi ToonLucas22. Thank you for your work on patrolling new pages and tagging for speedy deletion. I'm just letting you know that I declined your deletion request for Pandi (god), a page that you tagged for speedy deletion, because the criterion you used or the reason you gave does not cover this kind of page. Please take a moment to look at the suggested tasks for patrollers, criteria for speedy deletion, and particularly, the section covering non-criteria. Such pages are best tagged with proposed deletion or proposed deletion for biographies of living persons, or sent to the appropriate deletion discussion. Thanks! Reply to comment on User talk:223.227.98.130

Hello, ToonLucas22
I do not understand why you removed my comment on User talk:Malik Shabazz. That administrator is a stupid little git who does not know anything apart from reverting others' edits, issuing warnings to innocent users, biting newbies, (just look at his contributions) and vandalising. Thanks, 223.227.98.130 (talk) 15:35, 6 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]

I removed your comment because it was uncivil. By the way he did not vandalize, he did just remove some nowiki tags which messed up the page. See WP:CIVIL and WP:UNCIVIL if you want to learn more about civil comments. BTW what you said about the administrator in your message to me is considered harassent. --ToonLucas22 (talk) 15:37, 6 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]
One, you reply to my message. Two, you take the trouble to see exactly what vandalism I was talking about. Three, you issue me not one, but two user warnings. Four, you even post a {{talkback}} template. Budding administrator, I see. Why don't you take some time off from this tomfoolery to go and improve some articles? People like you, as well as almost all of those administrators, are not here to contribute to the encyclopedia. 223.227.98.130 (talk) 16:12, 6 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]
ETA: Ah, I see why you (and others like you) cannot really improve articles, because you do not even know the spelling of 'harassment'. Regards, 223.227.98.130 (talk) 16:17, 6 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]
@223.227.98.130: I am not an administrator, I am just a normal user, and I'm here to fight vandalism, which counts as being here to build an encyclopedia. Please also take the time to see what "not being here to build an encyclopedia" is not. It also appears that you are not here to build an encyclopedia, as you keep making uncivil comments. --ToonLucas22 (talk) 16:24, 6 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]
When I said that you are a 'budding administrator', I meant that you are aspiring to be an administrator. See, you misinterpret comments so easily, making yourself even more unfit for WP. By the way, you should yourself take a look at WP:NOTNOTHERE. I am here to build an encyclopedia because I am contributing to it in an indirect manner, by attempting to change your mentality, as well as that of others who may chance upon this page, by encouraging you to edit the articles rather than wasting your time. The page says that expressing unpopular opinions – even extremely unpopular opinions – in a non-disruptive manner counts as being here to build an encyclopedia. Thanks, 223.227.98.130 (talk) 16:59, 6 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]
I'm not aspiring to be an administrator either. BTW you are expressing unpopular opinions in a disruptive manner. From your contributions, at least 85% are pure uncivil comments, which appears to meet WP:NOTHERE. --ToonLucas22 (talk) 17:15, 6 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]
You are trying to to teach me civility, when you yourself don't have the civility to add "Thanks" or "Regards" at end of your posts. Best regards, 223.227.98.130 (talk) 17:54, 6 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Speedy deletion declined: User:Andreas Werle

Hello ToonLucas22. I am just letting you know that I declined the speedy deletion of User:Andreas Werle, a page you tagged for speedy deletion, because of the following concern: user is entitled to blank his own user-page without having it deleted. This is an experienced user (admin on German Wikipedia) who would know how to ask for deletion if that is what he wanted. Regards, JohnCD (talk) 16:52, 6 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]
