Länsi-Pakila (Finnish), Västra Baggböle (Swedish) is a neighbourhood in Northern Helsinki, about nine kilometers from the city center. Länsi-Pakila has approximately 6 945 inhabitants (1.1.2015).[1]

In Länsi-Pakila the average size of the apartments is the second largest in Helsinki, 98 m2.[2] The value of apartments in Länsi-Pakila is high, because it belongs to the most sought after residential areas of Helsinki.[3]

Länsi-Pakila is known for its highly educated and rich people.[4][5]

Since the 1970s, the largest party in Länsi-Pakila has been Coalition.[6] The National Coalition Party was the most popular party in Länsi-Pakila in the 2012 municipal elections (50 % support)[7] and in the 2015 parliamentary elections (44 % support).[8]

Church membership is more common in Pakila than anywhere else in Helsinki.[9]

Länsi-Pakila is home to many celebrities, such as Antero Vartia,[10] Arto Bryggare,[11] Erkki Junkkarinen,[12][13] Jimi Constantine,[14] Kari Hotakainen,[15] Martti Larni,[16] Oskari Mörö,[17] and Signmark.[18]
