Johnson Valley

Hello my friend. Thought you'd like to be made aware of the fact that the revert you did today in "Johnson Valley", was not a reversal of a "Good Faith edit". The man is a vandal, and has been blocked on all of his mobile phones and land line AP addresses a hundred times. As soon as the block is removed......."He's Back". Being sweet to him will not fix the problem. That page has to be permanently made "semi-protected". If you don't want to be back there 5 times a week reverting him, perhaps you will have more luck than me getting a permanent solution to the problem. I'm shocked you didn't see all the blocks and complaints on his talk page when you left that silly warning...lol. P.S. He is a "crotch shaving" barber to boot!... true story. Take a look at the edit summaries on that page, and read his profanity as well as his "Crotch Shaving Ads".....good faith edit....lol. Thanks - Pocketthis (talk) 17:15, 14 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]

@Pocketthis:I apologize! I didn't look into any context with the edit. Thanks for the heads up. --allthefoxes (Talk) 17:18, 14 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]
  • No problem. Actually I had a good chuckle for the first time in a while when I saw it. Yes, since you have chosen to revert vandalism here (thank you), you might want to get in the habit of reading the past edit summaries in the articles in question, before you decide how to handle the warning messages. Kathira

Hi, I removed your deletion request in Kathira Sultan (daughter of Selim I). Your rationale was that an article about a living person should have source. Well it so happens, that (according to the article) this person is not a living person (death in 1572) But of course you can use another template for the lack of source. Hello! I dont understand how to do my own page. I just thought that i did my own page with name ,,Alaska,,. Sorry. I dont understand that i edited this same page. Please explain me how to do new and my own page. — Preceding unsigned comment added by XAlexandraS (talkcontribs) 09:59, 18 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]

@XAlexandraS: - Hey there. Are you talking about the change you made here? I reverted that change since all you did was remove good references from a change. In addition, Alaska already has a lot of information on it, and a new page probably isn't needed. Maybe you can edit the existing page? --allthefoxes (Talk) 12:44, 18 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]

hi

I am Awlad, the website owner of bikroyoffer.com I created this articles and you delete it. I just want to know why you delete it.

Wikipedia is a place where all information exist. I'm the owner and I submit it to Wikipedia and may be make some mistake but you can suggest me. Why I used Wikipedia? Wikipedia used to get different information which exist and reliable. Would you tell me how Wikipedia help me. Need your answer please. Awladh07 (talk) 13:23, 19 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]

@Awladh07: - Hi there! I requested your article for deletion because your website is not Notable - Everything on wikipedia needs to meet the general notability guidelines and it did not seem like the article did. If you believe your website does meet these criteria, then you can attempt to make it again. In addition, it was removed because it was very promotional, which is not allowed. All articles need to be written in a neutral point of view. --allthefoxes (Talk) 19:44, 19 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]

WKCE

Yes I think you made a mistake.

I did use valid reference. The website is 1120wkce.com a quick google renders that valid. Also feel free to to call the FCC!

Please re-amend the changes and maybe ask before making quick judgment. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Wikihelpr (talkcontribs) 16:05, 20 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]

@Wikihelpr: - Hiya. I reverted your edits because I did not see a source on this claim: "WKCE flipped to an oldies station in December 2015. It now broadcasts as 1120 WKCE." - There was no reference. Significant claims require significant coverage. Was there any news article about this change? Say in a newspaper or magazine? --allthefoxes (Talk) 16:10, 20 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]
@Wikihelpr: - All I was able to track down was this: https://radioinsight.com/blog/headlines/93591/wkce-bringing-all-news-to-knoxville/ which makes the opposite claim you are making. --allthefoxes (Talk) 16:13, 20 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Bible and Cosmology

Hello all the foxes. I did not know how to link when I did the additions to the biblical context of cosmology. But the originator did not use links or substantiate. It is easy to say, "The bible says the earth is a flat circle," but like I said in my addition nowhere does the bible say that, rather it says, "circle of the earth," and a sphere viewed from any angle is a circle. I will redo my addition with links. Thanks. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Alohascope (talkcontribs) 23:06, 24 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Paris Dupree

Hey this is my first time leaving a message on a talk page, so I hope I'm doing it right! Will you add a picture of Paris to her infobox please?

Hey there! You almost did it right. Next time, make sure to add four tildes (~~~~) at the end of whatever you write on a talk page, so I can see who wrote what! I will see if I can find a picture, but I can't make any promises. Pictures need to be under the correct copyright terms, and that won't be easy to find. --allthefoxes (Talk) 02:04, 26 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Why did you revert my edit?

"Hairy Pothead" began as a series of postings on the Rabble.ca forums. It was subsequently published, but the thread is still up, and contains some of the author's comments during the publishing process. I think it's certainly constructive to link to, since it contains both the first draft of the novel and people's views on it, which are ironic considering the book DID get published. An example: "I'd be surprised if any publisher will touch it. Don't forget that Rowling was already sued by someone that claimed she had stolen the idea for her books. While I'd love to read it publishing this would be guaranteeing a lawsuit that you're guaranteed to lose."

Could you please explain to me why you reverted my edit? --194.12.7.50 (talk) 02:26, 26 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]

I'm not 100% sure if its still an appropriate external link, but my original revert did not take everything into account properly. I've restored your version. --allthefoxes (Talk) 02:28, 26 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Rollback granted

Hi Allthefoxes. After reviewing your request for "rollbacker", I have enabled rollback on your account. Keep in mind these things when going to use rollback:

  • Getting rollback is no more momentous than installing Twinkle.
  • Rollback should be used to revert clear cases of vandalism only, and not good faith edits.
  • Rollback should never be used to edit war.
  • If abused, rollback rights can be revoked.
  • Use common sense.

If you no longer want rollback, contact me and I'll remove it. Also, for some more information on how to use rollback, see Wikipedia:New admin school/Rollback (even though you're not an admin). I'm sure you'll do great with rollback, but feel free to leave me a message on my talk page if you run into troubles or have any questions about appropriate/inappropriate use of rollback. Thank you for helping to reduce vandalism. Happy editing! MusikAnimal talk 03:56, 29 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]

You would likely need to contact an administrator, though exactly how, I am not sure. Content is deleted from Wikipedia if it is in-appropriate, so the history of the page is not usually kept publically. --allthefoxes (Talk) 23:24, 30 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]

The citation is already listed on the page. You removed it when you went to write your unsourced information. Please understand that, even if you may be the person, we can't take a random email from a person who we cannot verify the identity of as a reliable source. My recent edits

Hello allthefoxes. This is my first time editing a Wikipedia page and I guess that this is the best way to talk to you. Could you please tell me what part of the Cigar City Brewing page you took out? That will help me revise it. Thank you.

@Markwise: - Hey there. Are you by any chance affiliated with Cigar City Brewing? - Some of your contributions do not meet WP:NPOV --allthefoxes (Talk) 20:28, 6 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]

I am not affiliated, I write about beer in the state of Florida and have been looking to add information about Florida's breweries starting with these guys. I have been covering them for about six years, and do the writing first with the citations later.

I see a considerable amount of work I spent hours writing is now gone. I am wondering if that was you, and if so I am open to editing but really would prefer not to reinvent the wheel.

@Markwise: - All the changes are still in the history and can still be found there. Nothing is gone. However, your edits were reverted over my concerns about your NPOV.
Here are a few examples:

Cigar City Brewing's reputation was built on their core lineup of beers in association with occasional releases combined with tasting room rarities.

This is a pretty big use of WP:PUFF

as of 2015. From the inception of Cigar City, Jai Alai has been a best-selling beer.

Unsourced claim

For many years, Jai Alai IPA and Maduro brown ale were the two cores and the most consistent beers that Cigar City Brewing produced

Again unsourced, and an opinion

Hotter than Helles is a German-inspired light lager that is perfectly paired for Florida's hottest weather as the beer is only 5% alcohol by volume and very refreshing.

More puffery

Wikipedia is not a blog or writing place for beers, it is an encylopedia, and the writing style needs to reflect that. --allthefoxes (Talk) 20:43, 6 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for the examples. I understand why you would think this and while I do not want to get into a debate with you, I appreciate the feedback.

My edit

No, you did not make a mistake. I'm not sure how to do this, so, did not put a citation although it is listed on the Internet. I know Don Lasseter, personally; he was born in a cannery Alviso in 1935 & is a fairly well-known True Crime author & World War 2 Historian who ilives in Orange County Southern Californa. Thank You. Angelsings (talk) 03:31, 7 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Hey there. Don't worry too much about the citation. The main reason I reverted your edit was reverted because Wikipedia does not allow non-notable list entries. While the person might be notable, they do not seem to have a Wikipedia article. Which somewhat shouted out to me that the entry and person was not notable. If you want to put the information back, I would not revert it again (though another editor might.) --allthefoxes (Talk) 03:38, 7 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]

It is somewhat arrogant of you to edit the page on the village of Walton as I started it, live there and am well informed enough to make comments as to how these entities are viewed by the general public.

My edit

Hello,

I don't know if you received my comment from yesterday re your putting my edit on hold. I, completely, understand the need for verification. No, you didn't make a mistake as I'm not sure how to edit nor cite on Wikipedia.

Under the category Trivia (because there wasn't one for Notable Citizens/Residents of) in Alviso, CA I added:

Don Lasseter, notableTrue Crime author & WWII Historian; born in an Alviso cannery building in 1935.

I don't know how to copy & paste on this smartphone but, if you have time, you can enter his name into a Google search which will bring up his many books & cite he was born there. I know him personally, spoke with him yesterday & he does not object to having this information put on Wikipedia.

Thank you for your time & assistance.

Hey there! It looks a lot better, but I am still worried over it not meeting WP:N. Thank you for your contribution! --allthefoxes (Talk) 04:02, 8 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]

The Beautiful Mistake page edit

Noticed that my update was deleted. My name is Josh Hagquist...I updated the page because it pertained to me. Please email me at joshua.hagquist@stonebrewing.com if you have any more questions. St. Valletta is my new band, with Eric Campuzano from The Lassie Foundation, Stranger Kings, Cush, and The Prayer Chain. Thanks! 162.254.184.98 (talk) 22:02, 8 January 2016 (UTC)Josh Hagquist[reply]

@162.254.184.98: - Hey, Unfortunately, I cannot take your word for it. Changes must be sourced. Has this news been written about in any kind of newspaper, magazine, etc...? --allthefoxes (Talk) 22:06, 8 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Denny Hamlin

Hi, I am leaving this message because of the edits that I made to the Denny Hamlin article, which were reverted because you said they were non-constructive. The few edits that I did make were only the correction of some typos and spelling errors, and Hamlin had four Nationwide Series wins in 2008, not three, which is clearly shown in the table below. Please allow me to re-fix these typos or misinformation, or get back to me if there was something else that I did wrong. Thank you. 173.67.173.109 (talk) 22:12, 8 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]

@173.67.173.109: - Oops, sorry mate, that was a mistake. I will rollback my edit, and feel free to remove that warning from your userpage. --allthefoxes (Talk) 22:14, 8 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]
It's all good. Thanks for taking the time to deal with this. 173.67.173.109 (talk) 22:21, 8 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]

I removed speedys

Thank you for your efforts in tagging articles for speedy deletion. But I want to tell you that I removed your speedy deletion tags from Highland Park Herald and a few other articles because: A1 did not apply because the context was clear (that the subject was a newspaper), and A7 did not apply because A7 applies only to "a real person, individual animal(s), organization, web content or organized event"; so it applies to an organization (like a publishing company) but not to a product (like a newspaper). —teb728 t c 00:24, 9 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]

@Teb728: - Hiya, thanks. Either way, the articles were written just to promote another company, by a user who is clearly affiliated. I will PROD them for now, or look for areas of improvement. I was also under the impression that a newspaper or group would be considered an organization. --allthefoxes (Talk) 01:04, 9 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Personally I wouldn't distinguish between newspaper and publisher here. And as Allthefoxes points out, the "artiles" did nothing but promote another company, so G11 would also apply even if the distinction between organization and product were relevant. A barnstar for you!

The Anti-Vandalism Barnstar
Looking at your contributions to the encyclopedia, you've been doing a brilliant job reverting vandalism! I think you have a good chance of being a future admin. Keep up the good work! Class455fan1 (talk) 10:10, 9 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]
There is a lot more to the mop than using an excessive amount of Huggle and STiki, but who knows. Thank you very much! :) --allthefoxes (Talk) 16:55, 9 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]

California Chrome’s Page

I’m new to this and I was wondering exactly how to add a source? I was just adding a section about his five-year old season and I was updating his record and earnings.

Hey there, for a crash course on citing sources, check out WP:CITE - Thanks for contributing! --allthefoxes (Talk) 02:09, 10 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Eazy duz it

It seems like we're playing a little fox tag for a while, but I've learned the truth that all editions must be cited or sourced. So thanks for your advice. 50.29.199.144 (talk) 02:19, 10 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Very funnyCite error: There are <ref> tags on this page without content in them (see the help page).

You cracked me up, I think it was an improvement. Yours indubitably. (talk) 02:41, 10 January 2016 (UTC)yours indubitablyYours indubitably. (talk) 02:41, 10 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]
