Ray of Light

I am sorry if I did anything wrong, IndianBio. I was just trying to fix BARE URLS in the citation from Wikipedia:Cleanup#2016_posts and I wasn't intending to do any disruptive edits at all. If I made any substantive edits on the content, it was a mistake -- I am pretty new. Rimsroot (talk) 12:34, 11 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, could you review this list which I intent to nominate for FL. I had submitted it for peer review and received some comments from a user. He suggested me to call for more reviews from other users.--Inside the Valley (talk) 18:36, 1 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Good luck with the FL, but not really my cup of tea, don't like him. —IB [ Poke ] 15:13, 4 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]
That's OK. Thanks for the reply. --Inside the Valley (talk) 12:24, 26 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Mother and Father

I think an article for Madonna's "Mother and Father" (from American Life) is in order, as it was released as a promo in certain territories. What do you think? --Chrishm21 (talk) 23:12, 7 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]

I agree Chrishm21, can you create a draft? —IB [ Poke ] 09:15, 8 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Sure thing! I'll begin working on it right away! :D --Chrishm21 (talk) 19:59, 8 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]
I began. Think you can take over for a while, I'm beginning exams this week and won't be able to come till at least sunday. I also believe there should be created an article for "Candy Shop" from Hard Candy. Cheers! :) --Chrishm21 (talk) 22:27, 8 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you, I'm concentrating on "Take a Bow" now and then this one maybe. —IB [ Poke ] 16:14, 9 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]
How are we doing on "Take a Bow" and "Mother and Father"? How should I Help you with those? --Chrishm21 (talk) 19:28, 16 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Hi IndianBio, if you have time I was wondering whether you could give feedback at this PR. If you don't have time, no worries. Thanks! Moisejp (talk) 17:22, 19 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]

I would be glad to do that. :) —IB [ Poke ] 18:04, 19 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Frankie

Why did he go?  — Calvin999 18:19, 21 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Calvin999 what do you mean? FrBTG is still editing from Special:Contributions/FrB.TG. —IB [ Poke ] 18:23, 21 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Oh I saw his page get deleted by admin by self-request.  — Calvin999 18:26, 21 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Archiving

Can you archive the Billboard boxscore URL on [I Am Tour (Leona Lewis)]] and The Sweet Sweet Fantasy Tour please? They are the same URL. I still don't know how to archive but these need to be before they disappear!  — Calvin999 11:55, 23 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Calvin999 here you go. :) —IB [ Poke ] 11:59, 23 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you. Can you keep a look out there for more Leona/Mariah/Adele ones from Fri-Tues as I will be away.  — Calvin999 12:02, 23 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]
I'm already and watching Mariah tonight. —IB [ Poke ] 12:03, 23 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]
I'm going tonight too! I mean if Billboard boxscore adds any more for those singers from this Friday to next Tuesday could you add and archive them? As I won't be able to.  — Calvin999 12:05, 23 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Imgur references

Hi, I'm just wondering why you removed my imgur reference links on "Gambler"? These were scans of the printed top 50 charts from those weeks, not an email reference from ARIA. I don't see what is wrong with linking these references.Nqr9 (talk) 10:42, 24 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Please see WP:RS Nqr9, I'm not sure how you are adding imgur.com which is not even remotely reliable. You can link to the scans by using {{cite journal}} if those are in magazines, but you cannot use imgur.com urls. I am actually surprised that website is not blacklisted. —IB [ Poke ] 10:47, 24 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]
The weekly charts were available free as one sheet of paper in Australian record stores, see ARIA Charts with reference to the printed top 50 chart being available in stores. Also see this blog entry (yes, I know that blogs are not necessarily a reliable source, but this post lists the same chart as one that I posted) - http://chartbeat.blogspot.com.au/2015/10/30-years-ago-this-week-october-27-1985.html , and also this auction listing shows that these printed charts exist - http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/RARE-Vintage-Original-Aussie-Top-50-Aria-Chart-24th-Nov-1985-BARBRA-STREISAND-/121837603313?hash=item1c5e1649f1%3Ag%3AlSEAAOSwo6lWOAQU&nma=true&si=vbflBVQYfJ6kP9GptZMJhaf02xg%253D&orig_cvip=true&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2557 . These printed charts do not appear in a journal.
According to which specific wikipedia guide are scans of text uploaded to imgur not regarded as reliable? I have not altered the text in any way. Furthermore, I don't think it's good faith to assume that the scans I have uploaded are not reliable, without a reasonable suspicion or evidence that they are not.
I have seen in your revisions to my edits adding references for Australian Madonna peaks that you have added page numbers to the Gavin Ryan book that I have cited - yet the book (neither in print nor the digital edition) has page numbers, and I assume you are not in possession of the book. This is bad editing practice. Then you have asked if I could remove the fictitious page numbers you have added to the citations, after I pointed out that the page numbers do not exist.Nqr9 (talk) 11:07, 24 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Nqr9, you can go ahead and ask in WP:RSN about adding links like imgur.com, but please do not add them in articles. What proof is there that you have not altered a content and uploaded in imgur or any website like that? It borders on WP:OR and WP:SPS when one cannot go back to the governing bodies from the links. —IB [ Poke ] 11:28, 24 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Please be sure you are reporting vandalism

Re your recent post to WP:AIV [1] on IP 84.13.135.249 (talk · contribs): please be sure you are making accurate reports of vandalism. While you say "vandalism after final warning", the IP only has one warning from ten years ago (2006), so that is completely false, or disingenuous at best. The five edits you must be referring to are all additions to music genres. While there are genre warriors out there, and many are disruptive, the edits are not vandalism. Please consult the definition used at Wikipedia (WP:VANDALISM). False or exaggerated reports waste admins' time, and erode their confidence that WP:AIV is a worthwhile board to check when looking for things that need admin attention. Thank you. Willondon (talk) 12:26, 24 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Willondon, that is an IP from banned User:CharlieJS13, I don't need to make warning templates on his page to report him. —IB [ Poke ] 12:47, 24 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]
I saw the WP:LTA reference in your report. The IP has only two edits from Dec 2006 (the edits that connected it to account User:CharlieJS13 presumably), then five edits from this month, ten years later. I don't see how you can still connect that IP to the banned account. In any case, even if that means you don't need to post warning templates before reporting, you shouldn't be saying "vandalism after final warning" in your report. A brief glance at the IPs talk/contribs jumps to the conclusion "false or exaggerated report". Administrators volunteer their precious time, and decide for themselves what issues they will pay attention to. So again, it's important to reserve WP:AIV for only blatant cases of vandalism, so that admins don't start to ignore it as a pit of boys crying wolf. I hope you can appreciate my point of view. Genre warriors are frequently disruptive and frustrating. I'm not accusing you of being wrong, just injudicious. Willondon (talk) 13:01, 24 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]
P.S. I saw your note at WP:AIV about IP 92.5.76.227. This is further evidence that you are right. But I'm suggesting that your report of WP:LTA might be more appropriate at WP:ANI, and that the description you gave at WP:AIV could be seen as misleading. I do my best to preserve WP:AIV as a place to report clear cut cases of vandalism that require little investigation or judgement on the admin's part. The easier their job is at WP:AIV, the more they'll visit. Willondon (talk) 13:11, 24 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]
I understand your concern now and acknowledge it and will keep it in mind. —IB [ Poke ] 13:13, 24 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]
No problem. I don't mind you deleting those references, just I think it makes sense to keep the one that showed the debut (in the top 50) position. I only added those references to the article because I saw that the debut position listed was incorrect, and thought I would need some evidence to show that it was.Nqr9 (talk) 23:16, 24 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Take a Bow

Hope you can use the sandbox I created for "Take a Bow"'s critical reception. :) --Chrishm21 (talk) 02:24, 31 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Hi! Indian. I have a question. Is this a source good?. I saw that was used on Thriller, but I'm not sure. Chrishonduras (talk) 19:45, 31 March 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Rebel Heart Tour

We should work on Rebel Heart Tour article, as it's literally the only one (aside from the Radio 1 controversy) that needs to be done in order to create a Good topic for Rebel Heart P: I also believe an article for the song Rebel Heart is in order, as it was one of the most critically acclaimed songs from the album as well as one of the leaked demos.--Chrishm21 (talk) 19:10, 2 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]

I will probably finish off the article today. But Chrishm21 can I request you to not add random images to the article please? The images, although free, I believe should be present there to enhance the section and aid in reader's understanding. —IB [ Poke ] 19:13, 2 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]
I understand. I was just trying to help, I won't do it anymore :) just tell me what I can help you with. --Chrishm21 (talk) 19:14, 2 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Being a regular contributor of Spanish wikipedia (I'm latin american myself :) ), since we can't use audio files and such, we tend to overdo it with the pictures on the different sections hehe. Again, I apologize. I also wanted to ask if it was Ok or appropriate if we could do for the tour articles what is done for others such as The Monster Ball Tour and the Femme Fatale Tour, use double image templates and add more than one pic? --Chrishm21 (talk) 19:23, 2 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Let me get started on the article. Hope you won't edit now since we can edit conflict. And its okay I know you try to help and I like it always :) I wasn't being negative on your contributions. —IB [ Poke ] 19:25, 2 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]
So it's OK if i do the double image template?? --Chrishm21 (talk) 19:27, 2 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Please not now. —IB [ Poke ] 19:28, 2 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]
OK No prob :) --Chrishm21 (talk) 19:31, 2 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Madonna Article

Hi. I am wondering if you have ever been to the United States or know anything about the people and the topics that you edit on Wikipedia? It is a valid question since you seem very active in some areas where you would otherwise be entirely unfamiliar... Please let me know if you were in New York City in the 1970s or 1980s, perhaps? I understand that you may have an obsession with Madonna, so I am trying to ascertain if this emanates from a virtual reality or a genuine familiarity... Also, is your concept of Madonna based on perceptions from India or does it have any connection at all to the U.S., which is her place of origin? Thanks... Stevenmitchell (talk) 04:58, 4 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, please email me since I do not like to discuss it here in an open forum. Thanks for your interest and appreciate the time to write a wonderful message :) —IB [ Poke ] 08:47, 4 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]

DYK for Madonna: Tears of a Clown

Madonna sandbox, pics and infobox

Hey! How R u!! It was so awesome to come up with those Tears of a Clown Pictures wasn't it? I also wanted to ask you, I began working on this expansion :D, can I count with your help?? Also, regarding the neverending Madonna infobox picture, the same user that owns the tears of a clown pictures on flickr, uploaded some great pics from the final Australian shows (March 2016) Now we can't use the clown pictures, as Madonna is in disguise on those. But I think one of these 4 could work if cropped correctly. What do you think??

--Chrishm21 (talk) 16:34, 8 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]

I think we can use the fourth image, I really like it, you can take that image to the graphics lab and ask them that you wanna use it as infobox image so they would do the necessary corrections. —IB [ Poke ] 08:08, 9 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Madonna

Look!!!!! 1 :D Can we use it??? Or do we have to go do a vote on the talk page?? --Chrishm21 (talk) 18:10, 9 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]
