Hi ^.^
If you're curious about me/want to stalk me, you can find waaay more information than you would care to know in the userboxes to your right. I'm not nearly as active on Wikipedia as I would like to be, but I do find some time to do translation every now and again; if there is anything you need to be translated from French, German or Serbian/Croatian/Bosnian/Serbo-Croatian, don't hesitate to let me know! I also sometimes correct grammar and edit articles on my areas of interest, of which there are many. Although I consider myself more qualified at this point in time to write about language and social sciences than about natural sciences, I genuinely love and appreciate every subject field in existence and try to learn about and dabble a bit in everything, so you might see me in lots of different areas of the site.
As for my Wikipedia philosophy, I did admittedly have quite an idealistic reason for joining the site: I'm passionate about the spread of knowledge and free access to that knowledge, and believe that the internet provides an exciting possibility to make true free access a reality for everyone. Wikipedia enables us to bring knowledge across borders, across societies, across races and genders and worldviews and all the other divisions which seem so ingrained into our world. This is an incredibly noble mission, and one to which I hope to contribute.
That'll be enough corniness. I also write stuff here and here if you're interested! You can always contact me at commissaress@gmail.com if you fancy a chat.

A note on my language skills: in terms of the CEFR system, my English is de facto native (it's complicated), my French is currently around C1, my German and Serbian/Croatian/Bosnian are somewhere between B1 and B2 depending on the specific skill (that awkward intermediate stage, basically: I can communicate quite easily but with no elegance), my Spanish is B1 and my Russian is A1. I also know a smattering of Japanese and Arabic, but I can't read them and don't know enough to count them here. Hopefully that gives some perspective.
Also - my username is based off the pen name I used while I was a Marxist, which is quite funny now considering my current politics.
