Matt Amato

Hi, I clicked submit too fast on the Matt Amato article and will complete the article and resubmit. Thanks for your attention Jon Phillips (talk) 18:57, 9 April 2018 (UTC)

I updated the draft, what is next? I added two more sources. Will keep adding more Jon Phillips (talk) 20:40, 9 April 2018 (UTC)

  • What is next? I would say: add decent evidence of notabilty. But if you think you have already done that, then simply click on the "submit" link. Incidentally why are you contacting me? It is perfectly OK for you to do so but have we interracted at all in the past? — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 13:54, 10 April 2018 (UTC)

A barnstar for you!

The Admin's Barnstar
For your tireless work with the mop. More Admins like you are needed who stay away from the drama boards and help keep WP spam free. JMHamo (talk) 21:11, 9 April 2018 (UTC)

Kindly wait until somebody with no COI thinks you are worthy of being an admin and nominates you for RfA. Ritchie333 (talk) (cont) 21:52, 9 April 2018 (UTC)

@Ritchie333: Luckily, I have absolutely no interest in RfA, but thanks for your note on this well deserved Barnstar for RHaworth. JMHamo (talk) 22:19, 9 April 2018 (UTC)

That's good, because I can see 58 declined speedies this year, including 9 declined A7s, so you wouldn't pass. And this is deserved in the same way Donald Trump "deserves" to get large crowds in Podunk, Nebraska. Ritchie333 (talk) (cont) 22:22, 9 April 2018 (UTC)

I don't really care... Thanks anyway. JMHamo (talk) 22:24, 9 April 2018 (UTC)
@Ritchie333, I'm disappointed to find you making snide comments like this. Understood that you're concerned with RHaworth's recent conduct, but JMHamo is certainly entitled to their own opinion; please be respectful of that. -FASTILY 01:59, 10 April 2018 (UTC)

Sorry, was feeling tired and fed up. :-( Ritchie333 (talk) (cont) 08:05, 10 April 2018 (UTC)

Roger, I don't know if you remember but we did meet up at a WMUK Christmas party once and had an interesting conversation about London pubs and I went away with the impression that you were a nice guy, and somebody who could really deserve a hug. I know I have been a bit ranty but it really isn't anything personal and I'd hate to turn up to the Pendrel's Oak for a pint with SerialNumber 12345898 (or whatever his name is) and get a frosty reception because you're there. Ritchie333 (talk) (cont) 14:25, 10 April 2018 (UTC)

I have been watching with some sadness a number of respected editors having a serious go at you. I rarely join in these dramas but I for one do value enormously the work you do. I perceive quality as being not only the glitzy GAs but also the lack of total crud in this encyclopaedia. FWIW, I think we still let in volumes of trivia with very little worth, but I am with you totally in your actions helping to stop all the stuff with no merit or notability at all. Wikipedia does seem to have a worrying self-destructive streak which I hope you can work through unscathed. Best wishes  Velella  Velella Talk   15:01, 10 April 2018 (UTC)
I second this. If I was to take even a fraction of the workload RHaworth does on daily basis, I would be driven insane and off the project in no time by endless number of CoI editors that do not read instructions alone. I hope I can travel to London one day and have a pint with all these awesome editors/administrators. Alex Shih (talk) 15:14, 10 April 2018 (UTC)

Kritika Sharma

Hello RHaworth, An IP address (2405:204:C68B:CF4E:0:0:1B65:C0A4) who I'm assuming is globally blocked user Shiwam Kumar Sriwastaw (talk · contribs) requesting a newly registered user to create their deleted article Kritika Sharma (you deleted recently) under Kritika Sharma (actress) (see here) so since Draft:Kritika Sharma already exists is it possible to protect "Kritika Sharma (actress)" to avoid any misuse? Thank you – GSS (talk|c|em) 05:45, 10 April 2018 (UTC)

CSD A7 Speedy Delete

Hi there, You speedy deleted this page earlier today. I have made some minor changes which more credibly indicate the importance or significance of this music group. I respectfully request that the page be undeleted so that I can apply these changes. Thanks — Preceding unsigned comment added by AGJlen (talkcontribs) 13:24, 10 April 2018 (UTC)

Draft:Lawrence Goldhuber

You recently deleted the article I created (Draft:Lawrence Goldhuber) as "Unambiguous copyright infringement", and I understand that I have to completely rewrite it, but I'd really appreciate an email containing a copy of the original content so that I may use the citations. I think they will continue to be valid and useful. Thank you, StephBGold (talk) 23:49, 10 April 2018 (UTC)

Thank you. — StephBGold (talk) 16:23, 13 April 2018 (UTC)

Acharya Indu Prakash

May I know the reason for deleting Acharya Indu Prakash, even being so popular and notable in India. Acharya Indu Prakash is notable, acclaimed, his biography is a subject of study. -- Spiritualbanda (talk) 06:16, 11 April 2018 (UTC)

Draft:Printerland - please review

Hi RHaworth, I have recreated the page Draft:Printerland after it was deleted due to copyright infringement. Could you please re-review? Thanks. Lauloulew (talk) 10:12, 11 April 2018 (UTC)

Child Jesus of Prague School

About the "Child Jesus of Prague School" primary school in the Philippines speedy deletion. Hi RH. In light of recent troubles at the mill, I suggest that it may possibly have been good practice to drop a friendly little note on the talkpage of GoogleGUY1 (talk · contribs · deleted contribs · logs · filter log · block user · block log) about copyvios and WP:SCHOOLOUTCOMES. — Mr Wentworth aka -- Shirt58 (talk) 12:08, 11 April 2018 (UTC)

Revdel instead of delete?

Hi RHaworth, could you undelete the first revision of Draft:Conference of Oriental Orthodox Churches (the one that contains the copyvio), and WP:REVDEL it instead? I'd rather not give the impression that I created that page, and my edit summary makes it seem like I copied what written at scooch.org/about/about-addis-ababa/addis-ababa-conference-of-1965. Thanks, Simplexity22 (talk) 14:21, 12 April 2018 (UTC)

Page recreation

Association Montessori Internationale was recreated 20 minutes after you speedy deleted as an A7. It's my first day at NPP so I'm not sure what to do here - should this be redeleted or just moved to draft space? — Seraphim System (talk) 20:26, 12 April 2018 (UTC)

(talk page stalker)@Seraphim System: Usual practice is to tag {{db-a7}} (or a derived tag) again and an admin will look at it again - if it looks like somebody repeatedly posting the same thing again and again, the page can be "salted" so it cannot be recreated (see Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/John Galea for an extreme example of this that tried everyone's patience). However, in this case, I do not believe Association Montessori Internationale meets the criteria for WP:A7 as it was founded by Maria Montessori who has a pretty well-developed article; ergo the very worst scenario is this article would be redirected there. — Ritchie333 (talk) (cont) 21:02, 12 April 2018 (UTC)

Should I just tag it for AfD instead of A7 in that case? I did a WP:BEFORE check and I couldn't see much to establish notability for a standalone article under WP:NORG - most of the refs I found looked like passing mentions/churnalism... — Seraphim System (talk) 21:04, 12 April 2018 (UTC)

You can tag it for AfD if you like, and a discussion will happen. For a genuine A7, you shouldn't be able to find any references at all. The A7 criteria was originally designed to stop articles about high school teachers gumming up the works at AfD - see User:Ritchie333/Plain and simple guide to A7 and User:SoWhy/Common A7 mistakes. — Ritchie333 (talk) (cont) 21:06, 12 April 2018 (UTC)

Hmm...the policy guidance I saw for A7 was that it wasn't about notability, but rather whether the article asserted notability. This article in its current state doesn't but I was able to find some more refs that support notability, so I am just going to add them to the article instead. — Seraphim System (talk) 21:13, 12 April 2018 (UTC)

My essay has a better way of viewing these things - the problem is what you think is "asserting notability" is likely to be different to what I think, which in turn is going to be different to what RHaworth thinks and what SoWhy thinks. It's so subjective, that's how arguments start. — Ritchie333 (talk) (cont) 21:16, 12 April 2018 (UTC)
I recall an AfD where I went with "merge" and everyone else went with "delete", so I suggested that WP:INVALIDBIO might want to be changed to reflect current practices, if this debate reflected them. (Ah yes, it was this one). Ritchie333 (talk) (cont) 22:13, 12 April 2018 (UTC)

Creating Selangor FA Reserves and Academy

Hi, I've been wanting to create this page to move a few bits from Selangor FA page because it's getting ridiculously large but I see that you've previously deleted a page with that title, tagged with A7. Is it okay for me to recreate the article per WP:AS or is it not allowed? Thanks for your help. Froswo (talk) 07:13, 13 April 2018 (UTC)

Nicolae Coande

Hello, I made a page about a great poet of Romania, Nicolae Coande. I saw that was deleted for some copyright infrigement but let me know more about this. He is member of PEN Club Romania , I wrote this information in his page and I put a reference to the Wikipedia page of this PEN Club, to can verify this sentence by everyone. Please let me know what is wrong with this? Best Regards, Marius Dobrin — Preceding unsigned comment added by Mariusvirgildobrin (talkcontribs)

You deleted Draft:JOAN (room scheduler) under WP:CSD#G11 as blatant advertising or promotion. It was under discussion at MfD, and two editors had opined tht it should not be deleted, implicitly suggestive that it was not a speedy deletion case. I have reviewed the content, and I don't think this had the level of promotion that justifies a g-11. In view of all this, ask you to undelete this and let the MfD continue. Thank you. DES (talk)DESiegel Contribs 02:00, 14 April 2018 (UTC)

I agree. I did not think it G11-elibile, please I delete and allow Wikipedia:Miscellany for deletion/Draft:JOAN (room scheduler) to take its course. — SmokeyJoe (talk) 02:20, 14 April 2018 (UTC)
If restored it needs to be moved to mainspace immediately. Keep means the topic deserves a page. Then someone can send it to AfD. — Legacypac (talk) 03:46, 14 April 2018 (UTC)
An mfd Keep does not mean mainspace. —SmokeyJoe (talk) 04:35, 14 April 2018 (UTC)
Sure it does. Drafts are temporary. If you think a draft nominated for deletion you must think it plausably good for mainspace where it can be fixed up. — Legacypac (talk) 07:05, 14 April 2018 (UTC)
No, there’s a large gap between good enough to leave in draftspace for six months, and good enough for mainspace. — SmokeyJoe (talk) 07:42, 14 April 2018 (UTC)
So you don't really want to keep the page, you want to delete it in 6 months. — Legacypac (talk) 07:52, 14 April 2018 (UTC)
I don’t want it to cause the creation of an MfD page. Either, a miracle will happen and the author will fix it up and make it good, or it can be deleted by G13 in six months, or a faster CSD if applicable, including A11 and even A7 extended to draftspace. — SmokeyJoe (talk) 08:23, 14 April 2018 (UTC)
  • Thank you, RHaworth, I will do so. Legacypac, I think you are makign a false dichotomy here. A keep at an MfD means, or at least should man, that an article has a plausible chance of being improved enough to be ready for mainspace, not thast it is ready as it stands. Thee is a gap between "s bad that it must be delted now" nd "ready for mainspace". And, if I recall correctly, the community, and arbcom, have taken a dim view of moving things to mainspace with the intent of deleting them under mainspace rules. Brent–Kung adder

Hi Roger, I was improving some articles on digital adders and saw that we once had an article on the Brent–Kung adder, which was apparently moved to Draft:Brent–Kung adder at some stage and then deleted. I don't know if the article was good enough for a stub already, but what I do know is that the subject "Brent–Kung adder" is a notable one in principle and that eventually we should have an article about it (as we have for a number of other types of adders). Do you think it would make sense to undelete that page and move it to article space, or to merge the contents into another article (like adder (electronics)) for now? I can't promise to work much on the article myself but given that I ran into it today I wanted to bring this to your attention the least. Thanks for your time and greetings -- Matthiaspaul (talk) 21:37, 14 April 2018 (UTC)

Why not WP:DENY?

to Category[1] and this one[2]. Both are created by a banned editor's sockpuppet and had no substantive edits by anyone else. The whole category tree was created by a banned editor as I pointed out on one of the talk pages where you reverted my edit. Why isn't it WP:DENY? ...William, is the complaint department really on the roof? 12:45, 15 April 2018 (UTC)

Piano reduction of the Busoni piano concerto

I don't think we should rush to delete the Busoni concerto files, e.g., File:Busoni- Piano Concerto (2-po rdn) Mvt1.pdf. I left some questions requesting help on the talk page, but there really has been no discussion. I think maybe these files just need to be moved to Wikisource. Once this is done, then they can be deleted from Wikipedia. also you have now broken a link from Piano Concerto (Busoni) to this file. --Robert.Allen (talk) 18:24, 16 April 2018 (UTC)

I think I can figure out how to do this. I just need some time to do so. But I need to have access to the information and files you are deleting. -- Robert.Allen (talk) 18:36, 16 April 2018 (UTC)

  • Robert, the complete scores should be in Wikisource if it will have them. PDFs are deprecated because the format is just a wrapper for various native formats but in this case PDFs might be better than having lots of PNGs, one for each page of the score. As for Wikipedia, I suggest just one PNG to illustrate the article. But this should be uploaded to the Commons. "Access to the information" - whaddya mean? You did the uploads so the stuff should be on one of your computers. I am currently on holiday and emailing stuff is messy. If you need stuff sent, remind me on or after Apr 20, Fri. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 10:55, 18 April 2018 (UTC)

Deletion of Buchalter, A Professional Corporation Article

Hello. It appears you have deleted the page Buchalter, A Professional Corporation. There seems to have been a previous article about this firm but it too was taken down. To contest this immediate deletion, I provided several points outlining the notability of this firm. However, you were unable to respond to the case in which I presented because another editor seems to have deleted that page as well. Can you please outline here why this page was voted into immediate deletion? I have edited several Law Firm pages and have noticed almost all have flagged pages however are able to stay up. What edits do you see fit to change in order to make this article work? This topic has received significant coverage in reliable sources that are independent of the subject, it is presumed to be suitable for a stand-alone article or list. I have identified and included independent sources (also called third-party sources) that fairly portray the subject, without undue attention to the subject's own views. The majority of the references are solely about the articles subject. In accordance with Wikipedia's dispute resolution we were unable to come to a consensus as to which would allow for this article to be published in order to satisfy both editors. Per Wikipedia guidelines, may we discuss and compromise this dispute since there is a disagreement over complete deletion of this whole article?
