wikify!

Slovenly is a word I find myself using quite a bit at the moment. Slovenly is what I think of anybody who leaves a message here about an article and fails to provide a wikilink to the article. How do you expect me to read the article if you don't link to it? Even if the article has been deleted, you should still link to it.
I reserve the right to ignore any message which does not provide links where appropriate, has no heading, is in the wrong place on this page, has not been signed with ~~~~, is anonymous, etc.
And if that sounds like a grumpy old man, it's because I am ...

Why did you ban User:Eternal-Entropy ? -- Ne0 (talk) 17:19, 21 November 2013 (UTC)

  • The account is not (yet) banned, merely blocked because it a second account of yours and I see no justification for you having more than one account. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 20:24, 21 November 2013 (UTC)

It is perfectly within Wikipedia rules to have multiple accounts, please unblock this account. -- Ne0 (talk) 07:06, 22 November 2013 (UTC)

Is it hell! That account was blocked as a sockpuppet and therefore cannot be unblocked.--Launchballer 13:18, 22 November 2013 (UTC)
  • It only becomes sock puppetry when a new account is used with malice aforethought, eg. to circumvent an account block. Multiple accounts are allowed but before I unblock, I would like to know why Ne0 needs a second account. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 14:29, 22 November 2013 (UTC)

Would you consider restoring Order of the Federal Republic? This is the highest distinction awarded by Nigeria. I have rounded up sources to add to it if you will restore, with its relevant history. Thanks. EricSerge (talk) 03:04, 22 November 2013 (UTC)

I think that editor made at least one other questionable speedy deletion request as evidenced on his talk page. Thanks much! EricSerge (talk) 22:39, 22 November 2013 (UTC)

Birdback

Deleted page due to missing indication of importance or significance of the subject. Thanks for pointing out that I did something wrong with my new Birdback page. I have been using wikipedia a lot, but just recently started contributing. I noticed that one of the new pages I created was deleted for the reason (A7: Article about a company, corporation or organization, which does not indicate the importance or significance of the subject). Would be great if you could give me some advice on how to improve it and resubmit it. My thought was to do a new draft in my sandbox that can be reviewed. My question is how can I get back the original version of the page. Is it correct to use requests for undeletion in order to get the original content back so I can do a new draft in my sandbox or should I go about it differently. Best, Willy.pucat (talk) 13:56, 22 November 2013 (UTC)

  • Advice? Is it possible that the words "missing indication of importance or significance of the subject" suggest nothing to you? Read this. Text emailed. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 14:29, 22 November 2013 (UTC)

Thanks for the email. I'll improve according to this. What is best practice. Is it fine if I add references and notes, and submit it again or do you prefer that I make a draft you can review first ? — Willy.pucat (talk) 15:22, 22 November 2013 (UTC)

  • Re-submit via AfC. That way, when it is rejected, it will still be visible for six months. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 16:30, 22 November 2013 (UTC)

Done, Thank you for the help. Time to start writing another article. Willy.pucat (talk) 17:16, 22 November 2013 (UTC)

Neptune Pine smartwatch

Back in January, you guys deleted an article called Neptune Pine stating that it wasn't notable at the time. Now the said product has recently raised $270K in the first 3 days of its Kickstarter campaign, and the story has been covered by numerous media outlets such as FOX, Huffington Post, Globe & Mail, CBC, Global, TechCrunch, etc., especially regarding the founder, Simon Tian, a 19-year old college dropout that founded the company. Tian is now considered an internet sensation in Canada, especially in Quebec, as Neptune Pine has become the most funded crowd funded project in Quebec history. I think this qualifies as notability and the page needs to be restored and content needs to be rewritten with recent sources. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Baclavalucas (talkcontribs) 07:52, 23 November 2013 (UTC)

  • I am minded to block you as a sock puppet of Symontian (talk · contribs). Please read this. I might reconsider your request if it came from an established editor and not someone who clearly considers themself an outsider - "you guys". But even then we should note the comment made by the last contributor to the AfD discussion and wait until the product is actually on sale and has been reviewed by reliable sources. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 09:55, 23 November 2013 (UTC)

Delete my Template

Hello RH, can you please delete my Template Template:2013 Bollywood Films ? It is not use able. — Preceding unsigned comment added by BolwoodFan (talkcontribs) 06:49, 24 November 2013 (UTC)

To be honest I'm a little confused

Hi RH. Back on the 9th you deleted my PalComix draft. Not calling good or bad move on it but I wanted to know what made you think it qualified for G11? If I remember correctly it was originally capped as A7 by User:JohnCD and I asked him for it userfied. And I don't exactly have a CSD Warning on my talk either about it so I'm also wondering, what led to a G11? MM (Report findings) (Past espionage) 18:53, 24 November 2013 (UTC)

  • The article had been userfied at your request but eight months later not a shred of evidence of notability had been added. If G11 was inappropriate, then "stale draft" certainly was appropriate and I allow G13 even if there is no AfC tag. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 11:44, 25 November 2013 (UTC)
Fair enough. Guess i'll look into WP:REFUND if I find the inspiration to go at it again, heck all I did for it was do a google search and see what grinds up, given the nature though it probably wouldn't have drawn much on books. Fair call, No Complaints. MM (Report findings) (Past espionage) 19:44, 26 November 2013 (UTC)

Phil Fischer

Although I am a sports guy by trade, I have been asked to write a story about Phil Fischer, the dot com developer who wrote the fox song so naturally I gazed over to Wikipedia to do some research but I noticed his page has been deleted. Is it possible to get the article before it was deleted so that I can use it in a piece we are doing for Mens Travel Magazine. Also, what was the reason for deletion? I'm curious as to why his page was deleted. Thank you so much in advance. Hi, I created the article about a new internet tv station, and it was "speedy deleted". Everything happened rather fast, and I didn't think to save a copy, so first of all, if possible please send me a copy of the deleted article if you can. Secondly, I would like to create the page again, and I would like to talk with you about this before doing it. The deletion has been done with the motivation that "there was no indication of the importance of the article". The very first version of the article was indeed lacking such indication, but I quickly added some text explaining the importance of this project.

Moreover it has to be said that at the time I created the page, the station had just made an initial limited broadcasting, and I have the idea that the deletion was done also because of this. Now the situation has changed, since today the regular broadcast has started, and the station will be on-line 24/7. I am convinced it is a very important project, as I have written about this importance in my later edits of the article. I can add the following reference appeared today: Will the Revolution be Televised? - The London Economic.

Please let me know what you think. Cheers, Oakwood (talk) 01:13, 26 November 2013 (UTC)

Sorry about the email, I (unknowingly) had the "enable e-mail from other users" unchecked. Now it should work. About the AfC suggestion, I will have a proper look at that page. Cheers --Oakwood (talk) 00:29, 27 November 2013 (UTC) (PS sorry for the "capital/shouting" I copy-pasted the title of the page I was linking...)
Sorry again about the email, now it should be (finally) ok! I have added three more references, and at least two of them should qualify as reliable. Do you want to have a look at it (in my sandbox)? Then, what's the best way to do this, is it ok with you if I just re-create the page? --Oakwood (talk) 02:13, 27 November 2013 (UTC)
  • Independent and Mirror are certainly reliable sources. In a strange way I would consider Wogan a reliable source. So just move it back to mainspace. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 02:24, 27 November 2013 (UTC)

About deleted article Rossair (Australia)

Hi RHaworth, and apologies for annoying you yet again.
Apparently "Rossair" was Australia's "oldest continually running airline after Qantas" ("adelaidenow.com.au" is the on-line version of South Australian newspaper The Advertiser ). I've had a look at the deleted content, and this was never mentioned. I'm happy to go through the Wikipedia:Deletion review process. The first step is "discuss the matter with the closing administrator and try to resolve it with him or her first." Which is what I'm doing now. Pete aka Shirt58 (talk) 12:17, 26 November 2013 (UTC)

  • How on earth can an article survive for eight years without acquiring any evidence of notability? Even the casa.gov.uk links (which are independent evidence that it exists but not that it is notable) were broken. But I will content myself with just restoring it - if I sent it to AfD, I think there would be a resounding "keep". Please action {{refimprove}} and, possibly drop a note to YSSYguy (talk · contribs). — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 13:05, 26 November 2013 (UTC)
  • (It makes a refreshing change to see a sequence of calm and reasonable restore requests on this page. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 13:05, 26 November 2013 (UTC))
  • (But unfortunately it only lasted for a short interval to be interrupted by other intervals. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 23:06, 26 November 2013 (UTC) )

Intervals

Hi RHaworth. I noticed you have deleted this page I created: Intervals. The reason I added it is because it is linked from these pages:

I would gladly remove unnecessary content/links if that's needed. Please let me know what I need to do. Jwofwp (talk) —Preceding undated comment added 14:27, 26 November 2013 (UTC)

  • No need for you to do anything. All the unnecessary links have now been deleted. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 20:57, 26 November 2013 (UTC)

I am a little unclear on the response. Is the page going to be un-deleted? Or will I have to re-submit another page without blog links? Jwofwp (talk)

  • I am certainly not going to restore it. Removing links would serve no useful purpose. Kindly have the decency to wait until someone with no COI thinks your software is notable and writes about it here. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 22:25, 26 November 2013 (UTC)

Thanks for the response. I understand the decision and I regret there is mis-trust assuming COI from my part as I don't own that at all. Jwofwp

RHaworth, this page should not have been deleted for lack of asserted importance because the page does include an indication of importance (age of product) and the software is clearly relevant for Comparison of time tracking software, List of project management software and List of collaborative software. The product cannot be listed at the comparison pages, however, without an article for the product/service, per the comparison page. Same reads: "Only place entries here that are links to actual Wikipedia articles about notable time tracking software. External links, redlinks, substubs, non-notable sites or sites that are not time tracking software will be removed." Jwofwp (talk)

Sonyliv is a good website with good sources, why you delete it???, Am I able to create this website again with good sources???.--74.99.130.78 (talk) 23:33, 26 November 2013 (UTC).

  • Don't talk rubbish. How on earth could I delete the sonyliv.com website? If by some chance you are talking about a Wikipedia article called sonyliv.com, then read this. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 00:09, 27 November 2013 (UTC)

Arab African International Bank

Hello, I published a page under the title Arab African International Bank and it was deleted. I'm new here to wiki and still trying to get a grip on how this works. I was planning on working on it now to add the links and citations as per wiki policy. Would you be so kind as to provide me with the text to edit in the sandbox? Thanks. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Fayed.yousry (talkcontribs) 08:00, 27 November 2013 (UTC)

  • Why are you asking me? You had already placed a copy of the text in your sandbox three minutes before you wrote the above message. But I have restored all your edits. Your draft is about eight times too long. I have reverted to a version of reasonable size. We do not want a vast screed about the bank - people can find that on the bank's website. What we do need are references to significant coverage in reliable, independent secondary sources. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 10:54, 27 November 2013 (UTC)

Meteor Shower 2012

Dear Roger: I made the mistake of rescuing Wikipedia talk:Articles for creation/Meteor Shower 2012 from G13 deletion without reading the decline reason, which says it's a copyright violation. I tried checking the URL in the decline template, but it won't load in. A Google search only shows more recent copies of the text. Anthony Gregory

Hello, I noticed that you salted Anthony Gregory. Well, while going through AFC submissions, I noticed that someone has written a reasonably comprehensive and well-referenced article about Mr. Gregory. Would you mind, if you think it is called for here, unprotecting Anthony Gregory so I can move the AFC submission into article space? Thanks. Jinkinson talk to me 00:17, 2 December 2013 (UTC)

Seems like a reasonable request given that it has actually only been A7d once - it has been prodded, which means that it can be restored at any time as a contested prod and G7 is not an indication of the article's quality. Any chance of a link to the AfC draft?--Launchballer 16:19, 3 December 2013 (UTC)

  • When you talk about a template it is more useful to bracket the title with [[]] than with "". Template:Aesma Daeva is transcluded in three articles. If these uses are deleted, then I would be willing to delete the template. Template:Acheron is only transcluded from Acheron and I reckoned that all the info. in the template should be repeated in the article so I zapped the template. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 12:20, 9 December 2013 (UTC)

  • Melourn, it was not deleted upon my request; it was deleted by me upon the request of the original author, TeamDurango (talk · contribs) after an {{unreferenced}} tag had been applied. This looks like an act of almost childish pique - "if you won't accept the article the way I want it, then you can't have it". Donald D

This is in reference to Donald D that was deleted. Donald D (real name Donald Lamont) is indeed an important figure in the origins of the Hip Hop culture. He is an emcee that started out in 1978 in the Bronx, New York, as a member of the Zulu Nation (formed by Afrika Bambaataa). As a member of the B-Boys, he released several singles, four (4) of which became Hip Hop standards ("Rock The House" (1983), "Two, Three, Break" (featuring DJ Chuck Chillout)(1983), "Stick Up Kids" (1985), and "Girls" (1985)). During that same time, Donald D also released "Donald's Groove" (1984), a collaboration with Grandmaster Flash, with this single also becoming a staple in the clubs, at block parties, and on the radio. In the latter part of the 1980's, Donald D moved to Los Angeles and joined Ice T's Rhyme Syndicate. Donald D became known as the "Syndicate Sniper" and also released two solo albums, "Notorious" (1989) and "Let The Horns Blow" (1991). "Let The Horns Blow" was not released in the U.S. due to the controversy over labelmate Ice-T's song "Cop Killer". The album was released overseas and was a commercial success.

Donald has remained active in the music industry, continuing to record his own material, perform on tour, and produce other artists. Since the article is deleted, I can't comment on the content... perhaps it was poorly written, or had insufficient references? Whatever the reason, Donald D IS an important figure in the history of the Hip Hop culture, and deserves to have an article about him in Wikipedia. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 65.27.103.98 (talk) 15:02, 11 December 2013 (UTC)

speedy deletion of erythr-

I see you deleted my soft redirect, erythr-, under speedy-deletion criterion A3, but it doesn't really meet that criterion, because A3 applies only to empty articles "(other than disambiguation pages, redirects, or soft redirects to Wikimedia sister projects)." Maybe it belongs to some other speedy category, but I didn't even have an opportunity to respond. Maybe it would have been better if you had allowed it to sit there for a while, or go through a deletion discussion. (Indeed, if it had been offered for proposed deletion that would have been better than deleting it speedily). Can you please put it through a different deletion process? Thank you. Bwrs (talk) 23:31, 11 December 2013 (UTC)

  • Given that Wiktionary effectively redirects erythr- to erythro-, why did you not create the Wiktionary redirect at erythro-? I am very dubious as to whether we need these redirects but feel free to re-create either or both. I shall stand back and see what others think. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 00:42, 12 December 2013 (UTC)

Susan M. Boyer

I would like to set up a page for Agatha Award winner Susan M. Boyer. I tried to do it in August but it got rejected because I took too much directly from her website and it was considered a copy write infringement. Please advise on how I go about getting a page for her that links to her website, adds her to the Agatha Award page, lists, her books, etc. Thank you! • Learn how to spell copyright then sit back and wait until someone with no COI thinks the woman is notable and sets up a page about her here. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 13:12, 13 December 2013 (UTC)

Leavitt Bulldog

Hello I understand you removed my article Later I see it was done in talk and not in page project I deleted the talk page and made it again in the project page. I hope this is ok with you and you not remove it again sorry for the trouble. Wikipedia:Articles for creation/Leavitt Bulldog. • The preferred namespace for AfC submissions is Wikipedia_talk: and most certainly duplication of submissions in Wikipedia: and Wikipedia_talk: is simply a recipe for confusion. I assure you that your spammy article at Wikipedia talk:Articles for creation/Leavitt Bulldog is in the submission queue and will be considered in due course. Read the message - the process is backlogged - be patient. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 13:12, 13 December 2013 (UTC)

Hello thank you very much This is my first article I tried to do stuff in the past but I was unsuccessful. Somehow I have problems to find the right approach for articles. My page has been deleted and I don't understand why, as I was still amending it. I already started on that yesterday. Thank you for offering me the chance to create a proper wikipedia. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Suzanne1987 (talkcontribs) 15:17, 13 December 2013 (UTC)

  • "Create a proper wikipedia" - that is a ridiculously ambitious aim. Reduce your sights in the first instance, to creating just one article. Please also, use the many tools that the MediaWiki software provides. Have you ever considered looking at your contributions history? — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 15:44, 13 December 2013 (UTC)

Lists of Copenhagen topics

Could you explain to me why you deleted lists of Copenhagen topics when lists oc Copenhagen topics isn't? You may already have answered this question on the talk page where I made the same point after it was nominated but now that it has been deleted together with the page I am unable to see a possible answer there.Ramblersen (talk) 19:09, 13 December 2013 (UTC)

Deletion of Baildsa article

Hello there. I was deeply saddened by the deletion of the article for Greek band Baildsa I made. For a reason you put A7 - Band is not notable. Of course I suppose you are not aware of the band. By a simple google search you will find out that these guys are a very important musical act in contemporary Greek music. They were invited on 21st of September this year to warm up for Manu Chao in Skopje, Macedonia. I suppose you know the tension and hate between Macedonia and Greece, so this fact testifies about the band's importance. Also by looking at the message of their songs, you will find that they are deeply involved in social movements and in balkan politics. They are doing a new album which will be recorded in the begining of 2014. In years they will be equal to the status of Dubioza Kolektiv, with already 5500+ likes on their facebook page. So I am not a the best person to do wikipedia articles, but after seeing them live in Tarnovo in Bulgaria, and after looking at other people's responses for their live shows, Baildsa should have an article on Wikipedia. Please find useful links. I hope I get a reply fast here or at <redacted/> Thanks a lot - Cristina CristinaMishka (talk) 22:57, 13 December 2013 (UTC)

Ok, so let us go point by point from Wikipedia:No one cares about your garage band. Title - correct Formatting - partly correct - I am not an experienced Wikipedia editor obviously Style and content Use of the word "hardcore" - Not used, nor is any other dramatization. Use of nicknames - none Mention of music equipment - none No albums are released - album is released. Details are given here. Info is given about 2nd album. No neutral point of view - I did not say Mention of fake company or label - None. The band is independent and obviously doesnt need label, while they are able to self manage. Trying (and failing) to dramatize the band or its members - None Mention of upcoming local gigs - none Certain phrases: "... had a dream ..." "... is an up-and-coming ..." "... take ... by storm ..." - none

So please find this attached User:CristinaMishka/Baildsa. I hope somebody with musical interest and information about the nowadays music in Greece intervenes. I do not want to be insolent, please prove me I am wrong with Baildsa, but I am not. All info can be found on their pages in the web, facebook and other platforms. You can also read articles from the Bugarian medias about their tour made by a Bulgarian company. http://www.mikamagazine.com/index.php/news/2477-baildsa-na-turne-v-bulgaria Cheers ! — Preceding unsigned comment added by CristinaMishka (talkcontribs) 22:27, 13 December 2013 (UTC)

Another band that is surprisingly not in English Wikipedia. I will do it as well. So Baildsa doesn't differentiate from them in any way, but they do have an article: ro:Popa Șapcă. Cheers ! — Preceding unsigned comment added by CristinaMishka (talkcontribs) 22:41, 13 December 2013 (UTC)

More - Section Concert tours from Wikipedia:Notability (music) . Just by a simple google check of "baildsa турне" you will be able to see a variety of articles in all kinds of related and nonrelated this genre of music medias. Also find attached interview of the band on the national radio -- > http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I_VpGneQxtE Thanks CristinaMishka (talk) 22:57, 13 December 2013 (UTC)

I am waiting for reply about the Baildsa page. It meets a lot of the requirements of Wikipedia:Notability (music) so I am really agitated by the repetitive deletion of the page. CristinaMishka (talk) 23:46, 13 December 2013 (UTC)

Deletion of Blockchain.info

I had put up a template clearly showing that I was working on the page and it would be improved soon. Also, I don't think speedy deletion under A7 applies in this case at all considering companies like Coinbase have an article. I request that you put Blockchain.info back up. Just as a general side note, I feel admins should be at least a bit more careful with the delete button. --  Tow  02:15, 15 December 2013 (UTC)

BodyArmor

Hi RHaworth. On December 6th you deleted my entry for BodyArmor SuperDrink (shouted). I had first submitted the entry on November 26th and it was quickly taken down for advertising by user Deb. I then worked with Deb for about a week to edit the article until she approved that it no longer contained promotional writing. I would be happy to work with you as well to edit the article, but it is difficult for me to receive the explicit approval of every wiki admin who reads the page. Would you please work with me to get the page back up? The page, as it read before you removed it, is on my sandbox. Would you please let me know your thoughts on how it could be improved? Thank you. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Ianvor (talkcontribs) 16:19, 16 December 2013 (UTC)

  • Have this AfD discussion with my compliments. If you consider that the article is still not ready, feel free to move BodyArmor SuperDrink back to your sandbox and I will withdraw the AfD discussion. Please point me to this alleged approval by Deb. TWA navigation

H RHaworth! I wanted to chat with you about the TWA navigation. That's in use on several other pages, often as a footer where the white space is less problematic. I'm guessing you saw WT:TWA/Portal where the white space is indeed greedy. I'm going to undo your changes on Wikipedia:TWA/Navigation2 but then replicate them at Wikipedia:TWA/Navigation3 for use on that page. What do you think? Ocaasi t | c 19:14, 16 December 2013 (UTC)

  • No. I have looked a few of the many user talk pages that transclude Wikipedia:TWA/Navigation2 and I can see absolutely no justification for putting any white space back into it. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 19:48, 16 December 2013 (UTC)

Hello, how are you? I think you mean this message: Wikipedia:TWA/Welcome. I agree that page doesn't need the white space. I'll see about fixing it. Cheers, Ocaasi t | c 20:00, 16 December 2013 (UTC)

One thing to keep in mind, is these messages are showing up on people who have opted-in to play the game, and who have been notified that they will be getting messages in their userspace. Cheers, Ocaasi t | c 20:05, 16 December 2013 (UTC)

FMacks

Can you have a look at FMacks' contributions? He's made all of one mainspace edit, which was incorrectly adding a protection template, and other than that, he's just been playing in his userspace, consisting largely of stuff apparently copied from Raghusri's userspace. He's also (accidentally?) changed one page there, User:Raghusri/age. Do you have any idea what he's trying to do? Jackmcbarn (talk) 16:45, 18 December 2013 (UTC)
