Slovenly is a word I find myself using quite a bit at the moment. Slovenly is what I think of anybody who leaves a message here about an article and fails to provide a wikilink to the article. How do you expect me to read the article if you don't link to it? Even if the article has been deleted, you should still link to it.
I reserve the right to ignore any message which does not provide links where appropriate, has no heading, is in the wrong place on this page or has not been signed with ~~~~.
And if that sounds like a grumpy old man, it's because I am ...

Indonesian hoaxes

Dear RHaworth, could you please kindly also delete Batas Waktu 60 Detik? This is another hoax made by the same creator of Minute to Win It Indonesia, as both are nonexistent in any TV channel in Indonesia. The vandal has been blocked indefinitely in the Indonesian Wikipedia for the same indictment. Thank you very much in advance :) Mimihitam (talk) 23:31, 10 October 2013 (UTC)

I have endorsed your proposed deletion; just as a heads-up, a hoax can be speedily deleted under criterion WP:G3b.--Launchballer 08:27, 11 October 2013 (UTC)

Ajun Perwira does exist, and I already removed unsubstantiated information from the page. WikiliciousENG is the same hoax maker. He was blocked in the Indonesian wikipedia for creating fake articles, and this article that he made (Asia's Funniest Home Videos) is a fictional show. Knockout (Indonesian TV series) does exist, but I highly doubt the validity of the information that he put there.

Thank you very much for your help. We have fought this sort of vandal for years, since they always target articles pertaining to Indonesian TV channel. It seems that they are trying to spread hoaxes in the English wiki as well. Mimihitam (talk) 23:00, 11 October 2013 (UTC)

  • WikiliciousENG seems to be dormant but I have blocked it anyway. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 09:33, 12 October 2013 (UTC)

Reade this

Hi! I'd like to recreate a page that was deleted for copyright violation. Hi! Today I submitted an article about Colonel George Reade, but it was deleted due to copyright violation. Here is the information about what was there, although it appears to have already been deleted so I don't know how to provide a better link to it: 18:48, 10 October 2013 RHaworth (talk | contribs) deleted page User:Thom W Blair III/sandbox (G12: Unambiguous copyright infringement of http://www.jamestowne-wash-nova.org/GeorgeReade.htm)

Or, maybe this is the way to provide the link? https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=User:Thom_W_Blair_III/sandbox&action=edit&redlink=1

I would like to recreate a viable article about Reade, so I thought I would copy down verbatim sections from a book that was copyrighted in 1932, but the current copyright information says it is "Public Domain - Google Digitized" so it seems like it would not be a copyright violation -- is this accurate? Here is a link to the PDF version of the text and it's copyright info: http://hdl.handle.net/2027/mdp.39015050616443

To my knowledge there is no text version of this book, only picture-scans of the pages of the book, so I felt it would be a good contribution to world knowledge-base to provide searchable text of the sections related to Reade. I will fully cite the text and also include a permanent link to the PDF of the text. Is this the appropriate way to remake the article?

Or do I have to paraphrase the text to avoid copyright infringement? I hesitate to do too much paraphrasing or rewriting because the information provided in the text is very succinct, almost facts only, so it seems I'd have to add lots of (possibly inappropriate) personal comments/fluff to somehow make it my own rendition.

Please forgive my ignorance -- this is my first time making a Wikipedia article, but I'd like to contribute more and do so properly, so thanks for your time! Sincerely, Thom Blair III :) Thom W Blair III (talk) 23:43, 10 October 2013 (UTC)

Please read Wikipedia:Copyright violations.--Launchballer 08:29, 11 October 2013 (UTC)
  • "Maybe this is the way to provide the link" - don't even think about contributing here until you know that that was the wrong way and you have found out the right way. The text was reasonably encyclopedic so you would probably be OK without re-phrasing. Obviously you start with a proper lede: "George Reade (dates) was a [indicate why he is notable]". At the end of the article place a note similar to {{EB1911}} declaring that you are reproducing a PD source. State this also in the article's talk page. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 13:05, 11 October 2013 (UTC)

Result

RESULT – Research and Education Systems Unified as Learning Tools. Why was this page deleted? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Ana Khundadze (talkcontribs) 07:53, 11 October 2013 (UTC)

Because it was unambiguous advertising or promotion and had a ridiculous title.--Launchballer 08:24, 11 October 2013 (UTC)

Ridiculous Title? This is the name of if, http://annualreport.iliauni.edu.ge/index.php?pt=rp35. And there was just brief description of this project, no advertising. But may you suggest how it is possible to recover this page? What should be change, or just give a sample — Preceding unsigned comment added by Ana Khundadze (talkcontribs) 06:53, 16 October 2013 (UTC)

The title should have been Research and Education Systems Unified as Learning Tools. -- Launchballer 07:31, 16 October 2013 (UTC)

Deletion of Paul McGehee page

Why would you have delete Paul McGehee’s page? He is rather confused about being deleted. It seems to claim you removed it because of the author's request which since he is the author that doesn't seem right. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Bobford (talkcontribs) 17:43, 11 October 2013 (UTC)

  • Oldsmobubble (talk · contribs) had blanked the page and had left it blank for an hour by the time I deleted it. In any case it thoroughly deserved deletion - it was a classic insult to Wikipedia and totally unreadable because of page widening. Please tell Paul to have the decency to wait until someone with no COI thinks he is notable and writes about him here. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 18:06, 11 October 2013 (UTC)

Hello, why did you restore this page from deletion. From the conversation at User Talk:JamesBWatson, it was established that this page should not simply be redirected, but deleted instead due to the redirect being very confusing. T Capricorni and Tau Capricorni are two completely different stars, the former being deemed non-notable, and thus it should not redirect. StringTheory11 (t • c) 01:25, 12 October 2013 (UTC)

  • No strong feelings so I have deleted it. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 09:33, 12 October 2013 (UTC)

Dinesh Swamy pic deleted

I made a profile of Dinesh Swamy on wiki and added the file:Dineshswamy.jpg from internet which got deleted. Please advice what can be done. — Prernasw (talk) 12:25, 12 October 2013 (UTC)

  • The image was a blatant copyvio from this page. If the article survives the AfD discussion, get Dinesh to supply you with a decent size image instead of a near thumbnail and upload it to the Commons with an appropriate CC licence. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 12:39, 12 October 2013 (UTC)

An opinion wanted

Is Bandon Hill acceptable as a disambiguation page or should an article be created on it?--Launchballer 16:21, 12 October 2013 (UTC)

Of course it is not acceptable: a) a dab page must dab three or more blue linked articles and b) do you have any evidence that Bandon Halt ever had "hill" in its name? Incidentally a) I hope you noted who took the pic that illustrates the Bandon Halt article - I walk past another of the halts shown on the map, Spencer Road whenever I walk to South Croydon station and b) have a look at Plough Lane Close some time - does it feel to you like a former station yard? So I think the platforms, such as they were, were on the west side of Plough Lane. Remarkable co-incidence (or perhaps it isn't), the 1st North Wallington Scout Group has its hut in Plough Lane Close and there is a scout hut in the station yard of Spencer Road Halt. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 19:51, 12 October 2013 (UTC)
I think I looked at the time I created the disambiguation page, and probably asked you out of cryptomnesia. I don't have any idea what I was thinking when I created the redirect, though.--Launchballer 21:36, 12 October 2013 (UTC)

Indian Alumni

Please restore Wikipedia talk:Articles for creation/ Indian Alumni Association of Peoples Friendship University of Russia (note the space in the name, please don't rename it). Feel free to revision-delete those revisions that contained copyright violations, on the assumption that after the copyright issues are cleared up they can be un-revision-deleted. davidwr/(talk)/(contribs) 19:06, 12 October 2013 (UTC)

Thanks. davidwr/(talk)/(contribs) 19:12, 12 October 2013 (UTC)

Just FYI, There was a semi-active AfD discussion ongoing when the original editor blanked and placed the CSD tag. I'm not sure what the general policy is on intersection between AfD and CSD:G7, so I thought I should raise the issue. --Eggishorn (talk) 19:04, 12 October 2013 (UTC)

  • I've fixed the wikilink, but I'm pretty sure that unless the article meets the criteria for speedy deletion, the AfD can't be short-circuited.--Launchballer 19:42, 12 October 2013 (UTC)

Okay, fine, but now that you obviously found said poorly-linked discussion, why not explain your reasoning for short-circuiting the discussion there, where there were obviously interested parties, instead of whacking my knuckles for a good-faith attempt to bring up the issue here? --Eggishorn (talk) 20:43, 12 October 2013 (UTC)

  • I repeat: I think that {{db-g7}} overrides an AfD discussion. If you want a second opinion, I suggest you raise the matter at deletion review. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 21:19, 12 October 2013 (UTC)

And I repeat, it doesn't matter to me to whether CSD overrides AfD or not or what the end result is. As the one that nominated it for deletion, I obviously don't think the article belongs, no matter how it is removed. What I feel does matter is why you didn't think the active discussion was the place to let the interested editors know the article was deleted. There were editors who felt strongly the article should be kept who were not the original editor. Are their opinions on notability irrelevant? --Eggishorn (talk) 21:42, 12 October 2013 (UTC)

  • Yes, I think their opinions are irrelevant. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 21:59, 12 October 2013 (UTC)
  • Well, I can tell an expired equine when I smell it, and this discussion is giving off that whiff. Eggishorn (talk) 22:19, 12 October 2013 (UTC)

He had it up as an article as well. Self-promo - his reason for not deleting the article version was: "IT IS SERIOUS, MANY PEOPLE ARE LOOKING FOR IT!" - which screams self-promo to me. Trying to get one up on his school mates (uni or whatever...). Peridon (talk) 19:17, 12 October 2013 (UTC)

Hello RHaworth. I am just letting you know that I declined the speedy deletion of File:Dr. Joe E. Thank you. — Malik Shabazz Talk/Stalk 02:36, 14 October 2013 (UTC)

Deletion request

I want some images on Commons to be deleted because I was having this message Flickrwashing. The files were "reviewed" by the uploader, who is not a license reviewer or administrator.

Therefore, I, request you to delete these images.

I found an image file:Admiral Asif Sandila - Chief of Naval Staff (Pakistan Navy).jpg on Wikipedia. I downloaded it and searched it on http://www.google.com.pk/imghp. I have found a couple of other copies on other webpages. Is not it forbidding copyright laws? :( — Preceding unsigned comment added by FSCEM45212 (talkcontribs) 10:08, 14 October 2013 (UTC)

  • You did not find it on Wikipedia; it is on Commons. So give me links to those other webpages! And if you think it is a copyright violation, tag it as such - don't wait for me. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 13:17, 14 October 2013 (UTC)

But problem is when I uploaded relating images to this image on Commons, they were nominated for deletion in no time. I admit that my uploaded images were also found on other webpages an but it does not make sense. My images were nominated for deletion due to copyright protection because they were found on a couple of webpages. This image is also present on webpages then why Commons authorities are not putting in category of copyright violations? — Preceding unsigned comment added by FSCEM45212 (talkcontribs) 13:45, 14 October 2013 (UTC)

  • Please learn to sign talk page messages with ~~~~. You are beginning to become a pain - your upload of commons:file:FSCEM45212.jpg was pure vandalsim. If I were a Commons admin, I would block you for it. Please remember your so called "Commons authorities" are just volunteers (like you and me) - they cannot check everything. I repeat, if you see copyvios on Commons, nominate them for deletion. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 14:23, 14 October 2013 (UTC)

How to check whether file that we are uploading on Wikipedia, it is copyright violation are not? -- FSCEM45212 (talk) 13:51, 22 October 2013 (UTC)

  • Firstly, at your level of wiki-knowledge you should not be uploading to Wikipedia at all - you should only be uploading to the Commons. The quick easy answer is: only upload your own photographs which have never been published elsewhere on the web. Upload them in their original form, raw from your camera without any photoshopping.
For images on the web: see if the page carries a Creative Commons licence declaration - for example this page. But even that is not enough - work through the following templates and you will soon see which licences are OK and which are not: {{cc-by-nc-sa-2.0}}, {{cc-by-nc-2.0}}, {{cc-by-nc-nd-2.0}} and {{cc-by-nd-2.0}} (group 1) or {{cc-by-2.0}}, {{cc-by-3.0}}, {{cc-by-sa-2.0}} and {{cc-by-sa-3.0}} (group 2).
If the web page has a different copyright notice then you probably may not upload it. If it has no copyright notice then you must assume "© all rights reserved" and you may not upload it.
Feel free to submit specific examples for my consideration. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 13:11, 23 October 2013 (UTC)

Anita Thompson Dickinson Reynolds should actually be a stub. Instead it is showing up as a talk page for a project submission. There are three college professors working on books about her. Re Wikipedia talk:Articles for creation/Filip Kovacevic: did you mean to add the afc submission template with your name name on it or under the original submitter's name? I ask because I recently declined his sandbox page about the same person, User:Mcontevero/sandbox. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Davidwr (talkcontribs)

  • As you will see, I found the article with no AfC tag so I applied one. Given that the article had been edited since the Oct 2 rejection tag, surely it is valid to keep it "live" in the AfC process. But I don't care what you do as long as the article has at least one AfC tag placing it in appropriate AfC categories and the text is not duplicated in the Wikipedia: and Wikipedia_talk: namespaces. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 12:50, 16 October 2013 (UTC)

  • Ah, I see. The AFC Helper Script gadget has recently been improved to allow re-submitting under the original submitter's name, but I don't think it can do draft submissions. The two easiest ways to re-submit a draft under another person's name require two edits, one to place the template and one to modify either the submitter's name or, if you use the AFC Helper Script, to add the "T" parameter. I did say "easiest," I didn't say "easy" :( davidwr/(talk)/(contribs) 01:48, 17 October 2013 (UTC) On reconsideration, the best thing to do is to simply restore the deleted AFC template and remind the editor to a) not delete the afc templates and b) to click "submit" on the "declined" template when and if he wants to re-submit. davidwr/(talk)/(contribs) 01:50, 17 October 2013 (UTC)

Jeety

Re this page with horrrible shouted title. Please could you take a look at Wikipedia:WikiProject Articles for creation/Help desk#my rejected article due to copyright. The deletion log here states you deleted this draft per WP:CSD#G12 (presumably legitimately) but the log doesn't specify a URL where it was copied from, which I'd normally expect as part of a G12 CSD nomination. Ritchie333 (talk) (cont) 11:46, 16 October 2013 (UTC)

Ta. While we're on the subject of copyvios, could you quickly take a look at List of Statutory Instruments of Scotland, 2012 and the website it was copypasted from (duplicate detector report) and suggest whether or not it's a legitimate G12? Normally I'd just tag the article but I fear that would create more drama given what's already exploded at the AfD. Ritchie333 (talk) (cont) 13:32, 16 October 2013 (UTC)

  • Probably not copyvio. The gov.uk page to which you link says "all content is available under the Open Government Licence v2.0 except where otherwise stated". I believe the OGL is compatible with our CC licence. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 20:03, 16 October 2013 (UTC)

  • I do not share your slavish attachment to the letter of the Wikipedia law. I checked the page view statistics: Nepal and Delhi. Datification

When I went to the datification Wiki this morning I noted that at the top of the page it read this "article may meet Wikipedia's criteria for speedy deletion as a copyright infringement of http://www.datification.net" I emailed and texted this warning to Mr. Timothy Fowler, who is both the 1) person who coordinated the development of the Datification Wiki and 2) the owner of the www.datification.net domain that he started developing after he generated the Wiki. Since Tim and I are normally in different parts of the world and on a 10-hour time difference he probably hasn't seen my texts or emails, and I'm sure he hasn't noticed that the Wiki has been deleted. Please let me know what you require to show that the datification content that Tim put on Wikipedia is not violating copyright on Tim's domain at datification.net? Thank you! — Jonathan A. Jenkins — Preceding unsigned comment added by Dr. JJenkins (talkcontribs) 17:32, 17 October 2013 (UTC)

(talk page stalker)@Dr. JJenkins: Almost everything you need to know is encompassed in WP:COPYRIGHTS. I've no idea what the original article said, but the source site does not appear to be other than a 100% copyright site. Fiddle Faddle 17:37, 17 October 2013 (UTC)
  • Terminology - it is not the "datification wiki" it is simply one article on the English Wiki[pedia]. The copyvio question could be resolved. Far more important is the notability matter. I strongly recommend that you and Timothy Fowler should wait until someone with no COI thinks the concept is notable and writes about it here. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 17:53, 17 October 2013 (UTC)
  • RHaworth, thank you for taking the time to address our issue. Please understand we want to do what is right. In all honesty, the average wiki contributor does not understand all the terms you use, and quite frankly many on the help page were short, rude and not helpful. I work in Afghanistan protecting your right to do what you do and am simply asking a direct question, looking for a direct answer...here it goes... What should we do …? the concept of datification is not mine, I don't even work in the IT area...it is a rebirth of a data modeling term of late about bringing to light hidden data so business decisions can be made...I wrote the wiki page, I wrote the .net page..... Therefore there is 1 author between the two...so there is no ethical issue, now if there is some technical tweaking we need to do, I.e. referencing one to the other or removing/adjusting the .net page, which I am willing to do, please let us know....also wiki has raised multiple issues, probably over 10' which I successfully addressed...at the time to wiki moderators liking, because the deletion notice was removed numerous times by them...the latest issues was the article was not linked to other pages, Dr Jenkins who is referenced in the article... started linking it to other data pages the day it was deleted....please advise next steps....also is a phone call an option??? Timothyfowler1 (talk) 14:47, 18 October 2013 (UTC)
  • So what terms did I use that you do not understand. Where is this "help page" with rude comments. Please do not shout; I am not deaf. To the page at http://www.datification.net/ you must add a {{cc-by-sa-3.0}} licence. On the page here you must state in the article, on the talk page and in an edit summary that "this article incorporates text from http://www.datification.net/ which is licensed under cc-by-sa-3.0. I must warn you that if you resubmit, I will propose its deletion as original research. What does 10' mean and please note that Wikipedia does not have moderators - it is a very important point. Deletion tags were removed for procedural reasons which are too esoteric for you to understand at this stage. In no case were they removed because you had improved the article. Yes, you may phone me - numbers on the home page of my websites. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 21:32, 18 October 2013 (UTC)
  • Thank you Sir for your prompt reply. Once I have some time, I will reply. You stated you will propose deletion... If I resubmit... Because of original research, which according to your own documentation is... "Wikipedia articles must not contain original research. The phrase "original research" (OR) is used on Wikipedia to refer to material—such as facts, allegations, and ideas—for which no reliable, published sources exist....did Timo Elliott and Dr. J not say those things?? Do I need to point you to those references...I will if need be....you said you had not read the original articles....would you pls take the time and read them...and the footnotes....to see the statements?
This bantering is a waste of time friend, please do the right thing here....I will of course do what you suggest on the .net page ok? I will call you in a few days....sorry for shouting :) — Timothyfowler1 (talk) 00:59, 19 October 2013 (UTC)
  • I am very tempted to restore the article now and send it to AfD. The deletion nomination will read "Near enough original research. Total absence of independent references, still less, evidence of notability." — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 13:01, 19 October 2013 (UTC)

Thank you Sir, I'm on vacation, and do appreciate your effort here....I am confident that additional contributions will be forthcoming on the site, I did receive notification that the page was edited a few days ago by another source just before it went down, I am sure it will be linked to at least 5 other wiki pages very soon....I am committed to doing what is right, I do not work in the IT field and just am interested in the concept, it will be added to....regarding gather notability I can provide at least 20 references to datification in the last few months....again thank you for the effort and support...what you do is important :) — Preceding unsigned comment added by Timothyfowler1 (talkcontribs) 14:58, 19 October 2013 (UTC)

Is this hospital covered by inherent notability? I put a helpme request on the user talk page, and Peridon said (rather unhelpfully) that it varied on the size if the hospital; as someone a bit more likely to have seen it, do you think it is eligible?--Launchballer 10:39, 18 October 2013 (UTC)

(stalking) Hospitals are covered under WP:CORP which says flat out "nothing here is inherently notable without reliable sources, period". On the other hand, William Harvey Hospital is an unreferenced stub (yeah, WP:OTHERSTUFFEXISTS, I get it) Ritchie333 (talk) (cont) 10:48, 18 October 2013 (UTC)

So what I've done is simply make the external link listed inline so at least it has something reference every fact in the article.--Launchballer 10:53, 18 October 2013 (UTC)

That's a good example of what I meant. The hospital wasn't inherently notable but nobody was crazy enough to send it to AfD just because it was unreferenced, because anyone could have expanded it to its current state at any time. For homework, argue why BBC "Domesday Reloaded" is not a self-published source. Ritchie333 (talk) (cont) 11:18, 18 October 2013 (UTC)

To be honest, I saw BBC and automatically assumed "reliable". If you think it is unreliable feel free to remove it.--Launchballer 11:25, 18 October 2013 (UTC)

It's an interesting case - I could argue either way. On the one hand, the BBC were happy to put their stamp on it and make it an officially authorised project (at least the 1986 version). On the other, it was all written by volunteers and the odds that some editorial staff at the BBC checked even a majority of it I'd say were slim. Ritchie333 (talk) (cont) 11:28, 18 October 2013 (UTC)

That one came from the 1986 version. I think we should keep it.--Launchballer 11:31, 18 October 2013 (UTC)

  • Surely you know by now kid that you must provide independent references. Of course the hospital is notable, my wife had both her hips replaced there! And if St Helier Hospital gets an article (hopelessly short on references!), possibly just because it is such a prominent landmark, then Epsom deserves one. You should clarify why you mention two different NHS trusts in the article and both trusts need articles and need adding to list of NHS trusts. Add a photo - geograph.org.uk must have more than one - possibly already on Commons. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 11:51, 18 October 2013 (UTC)
I thought for a minute that the St Helier Hospital was in Jersey until I read the article. Ritchie333 (talk) (cont) 14:34, 18 October 2013 (UTC)

Unbelievably, it does not.--Launchballer 09:20, 21 October 2013 (UTC)

Telangana

Recently you deleted the article GOM's terms of reference on Telangana state formation. I put my comments in talk page asking you to reconsider. Not sure you read my comments. Let me repeat them here again. "Terms of reference.." is Government of India document which was circulated to new media. Same content was published by multiple news papers. See this article by DC/PTI. Only difference between DC/PTI article outlook article is number of paragraphs. No news paper have copy right on it. Per, Copyright law of India, all government documents are public documents and can be copied into Wiki. If you agree, please restore the article. Thanks. Ramcrk (talk) 21:12, 18 October 2013 (UTC)

  • It was not an article; it was primary source material and Wikipedia is a tertiary source. You write about the matter in the Telangana article and then link to the terms of reference of an external site. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 21:17, 18 October 2013 (UTC)

I already referred the terms of reference in Telangana movement article. I would like to give more details about the the "terms of reference of group of ministers" but dont want to fill up the Telangana movement article with the details of "terms of reference". That the reason I create this new article. May be the name of the new article could be "Process of formation of Telangana state" instead; with "GOM's terms of reference" as one section of it. Ramcrk (talk)

  • Did you actually read my message? You link to the terms of reference on an external site. Is that too difficult to understand? — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 22:14, 18 October 2013 (UTC)
Thread has galloped off (subtle reference to where Glyn lives) to here.

Hello RHaworth, I saw that you deleted the page associated with File:Corps Hubertia Freiburg Stürmer.png but did not delete the file itself. I accidentally uploaded he wrong file, hence I asked for the deletion of the picture.

If you can't delete it in the commons, pls let me know what I have to do to get the file deleted. I did not intend to have this file on WP. Thanks, ----WikimanGer (talk) 18:07, 19 October 2013 (UTC)

Slap a {{db-u1}} template across it. For a link to the image without transcluding it, follow the instructions at Help:Wikilinks but add a : after the [[.--Launchballer 19:37, 19 October 2013 (UTC)

Thx, I thought I have to "create a page" and put the {{db-u1}} template on that with a note why to delete. Apparently it created a page (in the article space?) that was then deleted. In the meantime you (or sb else) already put the tag on the right place, thank you there. But for next time, in case that I need to request a deletion from the commons, where exactly do I put the <delete tag/>? Merci! ----WikimanGer (talk) 22:02, 19 October 2013 (UTC)

Commons, there is a link on the page to it.--Launchballer 23:57, 19 October 2013 (UTC)
  • It is very simple: if you see "this is a file from the Wikimedia Commons", then you are in the wrong place. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 15:15, 21 October 2013 (UTC)

Singapore Indian Artistes Association

Singapore Indian Artistes Association is a registered non-profit Arts organisation in Singapore. Established since 1970, SIAA is active in the field of Arts. A page created here was deleted. Thanks and good day. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Singapore Inthiya Kalaignar Sangam (talkcontribs) 06:15, 21 October 2013 (UTC)

RHaworth: please oversight SIKS' edit as it contains an eMail address.
  • It is now only visible in the history. That is good enough and serve them right anyway for being so foolish as to give an email address.
Singapore Inthiya Kalaignar Sangam: Please add a section header when posting and wait until someone with a conflict of interest has written about you.--Launchballer 07:46, 21 October 2013 (UTC)

All Hollow (magazine)

Hello, I'm writing regarding the removal of page All Hollow (magazine). The magazine is published in Romania and distributed internationally. It's a fairly new on the international market and a lot of people are emailing us to provide them with info & details regarding the magazine. We thought it's be more efficient to have a Wiki entry for the publication. We did a little bit of research and wrote a similar entry to what other publications of this kind have on Wikipedia (Nylon magazine, Dazed and Confused and so on). We kept it as un-boastful and factual as possible, so as to not turn it into advertising. Please let me know if I need to provide any other info in order for the article to not be deleted. Thank you, Irimia. Irimia.suleapa (talk) 09:54, 21 October 2013 (UTC)

  • Other stuff exists is never an argument. Kindly have the decency to wait until someone with no COI thinks your publication is notable and writes about it here. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 15:43, 21 October 2013 (UTC)

Request

Hello RHawoth, I want to discuss an issue that user:Pakistan-Celebrations-2013 is a user page; not an article. Please un protect it. I promise that i never edit any article (expect of my user page). I will very thankful to you. Another issue is that the Yasir72.multan (talk · contribs) was using my IP address and article so far (about 3 moths ago) but I am another person. Please do not consider me a Sock Puppet and unblock me. I Love Wikipeidia. Thankyou. (119.160.119.147 (talk) 10:56, 21 October 2013 (UTC))

  • Content which is unacceptable in mainspace is equally unacceptable in userspace. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 15:43, 21 October 2013 (UTC)
  • Hi. I just noticed this on RFPP. I wonder if User:Celeb13.PK and User:Celeb14.PK are related to this. The first of those put a request for semiprotection on my talk page, presumable not realising that I'm not an admin. Both user pages are actually lists of celebrations in Pakistan in the identified year. I've left the RFPP entry in place for now. --Stfg (talk) 20:08, 21 October 2013 (UTC)
  • Yes, of course they are related. Fortunately we are on top of it. Interestingly the sinner appears to be female - see the name Ayesha above. I wonder why she chose to talk to you. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 22:05, 21 October 2013 (UTC)
    • Hmm, fascinating. Recently I've spent some time servicing edit semi-protected requests, among which have been requests on List of Bollywood films of 2013, in which one of these apparent socks has taken an interest. I can only guess that this is what led her to imagine I could help. Regards, --Stfg (talk) 23:36, 21 October 2013 (UTC)

Seven For A Secret deleted

Hello,

My name is Joe, drummer of the band "Seven For A Secret". It has come to my attention that you have deleted my band's wikipedia page that our singer, Katie wrote yesterday. We are very much a real and active band, as shown by our Facebook page, (https://www.facebook.com/SevenForASecretBand), Soundcloud, (https://soundcloud.com/seven-for-a-secret), Twitter, (https://twitter.com/SevenForASecret), and so on. I have no idea why you deleted it based on "(A7: Article about a band, singer, musician, or musical ensemble, which does not indicate the importance or significance of the subject)", which does not really make any sense at all.

Thank you for your time,

Joecoonz (talk) 02:00, 23 October 2013 (UTC)Joe

It means you're not notable - wait until someone with no conflict of interest thinks you are notable and writes about you here. Please also see WP:GARAGE.--Launchballer 07:35, 23 October 2013 (UTC)

Hi! You just deleted Portal:Contents/TopicSystems as spam, as I requested, but you also deleted the talk page Portal talk:Contents/TopicSystems. Can you restore the talk page, please? -- John of Reading (talk) 13:50, 23 October 2013 (UTC)

User Ujjwal234goel

Hello RHaworth,

Please block this Ujjwal234goel user, The user Ujjwal234goel again adding the unsourced material in Wikipedia after the Last warning by Spinningspark. recently you deleted his one unsourced Paani Poori article.

Thank you. Wiki Editor (talk) 13:53, 23 October 2013 (UTC)

My final warning was five months ago. You might want to provide some diffs of problem edits that are more recent and diffs to where the user has been appropriately warned. By the way, the user did not create an unsourced article at Paani Poori, they created a redirect to Panipuri which was then both vandalised and nominated for speedy deletion by an IP from, strangely, the same IP range as you.
