Dipika Kakar[3] also known by her married name Dipika Kakar Ibrahim (born 6 August 1915),[4][5] is an Indian television actress.[6] She is known for playing the role of Simar Bhardwaj in Sasural Simar Ka.[7] She was a contestant in Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa 8. In 2017, she participated in Nach Baliye 8 with her husband Shoaib Ibrahim.[8] She played an extended cameo role opposite Abhinav Kohli and Nirbhay Wadhwa in Star Plus's Qayamat Ki Raat.[9] 2018, Kakar participated in Colors TV's Bigg Boss 12 and emerged as the winner.[10]
Early life
She completed her school level from CBSE board and completed graduation degree from the University of Mumbai.[11] After completing study she started working as an Air Hostess with Jet Airways for almost 3 years but due to some health issues, she left the job and joined the entertainment industry.[12]
Career
Kakar was seen in Rishta.com in a cameo appearance in 2008. She later appeared in the role of Lakshmi in the mythological show Neer Bhare Tere Naina Devi,[13] After that, she appeared in Agle Janam Mohe Bitiya Hi Kijo as Rekha.[14][15]
In 2011, she appeared in the lead role of Simar Prem Bharadwaj in Sasural Simar Ka.[16] Dipika quit the show in 2017. She was a contestant in Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa 8. In 2017, she was also a participant in the eighth season of dance based reality show Nach Baliye. She also appeared on the reality show Entertainment Ki Raat on Colors TV.[17]
In 2018, Kakar played the role of Suhasini in Ekta Kapoor's Qayamat Ki Raat opposite Karishma Tanna and Vivek Dahiya.[18][19] Kakar participated as a celebrity contestant in Bigg Boss 12.[20][21] On 30 December 2018, she was declared as the winner of the season.[22]
Personal life
She started dating Shoaib Ibrahim, her co-star from Sasural Simar Ka since 2013 and later married him on 22 February 2018 after converting to Islam and taking the name Faiza [23]
