Q on reference source language

07:53:55, 14 November 2017 review of submission by FriendlyB

Dear Thereodislong,

thank you for reviewing the draft "Dr. Petry Textile Auxiliaries".

For the sources, I cited independent sources, such as - http://www.genios.de/fachzeitschriften/artikel/MTB/20080617/umweltschutz-und-nachhaltigkeit-in-/060817061.html - https://www.biooekonomie-bw.de/de/fachbeitrag/aktuell/insektenchitin-macht-textilherstellung-nachhaltiger/

In order to have more evidence, I added information from further independent sources and references: - https://www.bloomberg.com/profiles/companies/6311207Z:GR-textilchemie-dr-petry-gmbh - https://www.bluesign.com/industry/chemical-suppliers/references/textilchemie-dr-petry

Thank you in advance for re-reviewing.

Thanks for your help!

Thanks for your assistance with Draft:InnoCare. I have included {{connected contributor}} and noted it on your user page that I work for that company. They're not paying me to create this page, I just think it would cool to have a Wikipedia page. Let me know if there's anything else you can suggest to improve my draft. I appreciate your help!

I added more 3rd party sources that are verifiable and are independent, professional sources (not personal blogs or sites). I now have 15 citations.

Please let me know what else you think is required to have it accepted?

Hi there, thank very much for your care and consideration to to help build this page. I can understand why the review was rejected, as i hadn't cited enough sources on the first draft. I was wondering if you'd mind having a read over the latest draft and checking if it is better now thank you. SP

Dear Theroadislong

Hope you are fine and doing good.

I am requesting for a review again as the major comment for rejection/decline of this article was its Reference section or having less references. Now, the draft has been updated, and more than 20 solid references have been employed, with more historical details, and best possible bibliographic support in the light of the available literature. This single page article is now having over 25 appropriate references, and are strengthened with new data.

Your anticipation in this regard will be highly appreciated.

Sincere Regards

Dear Theroadislong

Thank you very much for your prompt response.

The objected references (facebook) has been udpated with the departmental URLS (links to the webpages). I think, these were the most up to dated and regularly updating references. Moreover, the last paragraph was deleted, because the book describing the paragraph and the mentioned material is in press (which is written by Dr. Ikram), and once the book got published, the three to four lines paragraph will be inserted again.

I do hope, that the draft will get approved now and will get online, as after coming across other such articles, this one seems to be far better than those.

Your prompt and positive anticipation in this regard will be highly appreciated.

Thanking you in anticipation

Sincere Regards

Hi Theroadislong! I have recently uploaded a draft of the article "Admitad" here and you have declined it. Could you kindly explain what can I do to make it right? Is it possible to work with you as my mentor on the draft? Or, maybe, you can help with writing, could you kindly tell me what is the best option? admitad is a global company, it already helps over 630,000 people worldwide. I believe, that it needs to be on Wikipedia.

Images/Imágenes

Hi! As Images/Imágenes stated I am being paid to edit this page, but I am also working on this program as it is a work in progress. It was on the aire for over 30 years and pulled off in 2011. We are currently working on starting the project again but as this program began in the 70's there is not a large online presence. Is there anyway this page could be published for now, so we can show people that Images/Imágenes is coming back? Thanks, Alice

I have a lot of information from the Executive Producer but since none of it is available online, I cannot reference it. For example: (None of this is available online) Mission Images/Imágenes is a multi- Emmy award-winning television program series that creates, chronicles, and promotes the varied rich diverse history, culture, and life experiences of Hispanic/Latino communities in the state of New Jersey and the nation. Brief Organizational History For 46 years, the Images/Imágenes television series provided a voice and platform for New Jersey's diverse Latino population. The program series is known as the longest-running Latino community program in the history of PBS. Over the decades, the Emmy award winning series featured thought provoking round table discussions, interviews, profiles, documentaries and special topic episodes on the most prevalent issues pertaining to and for the Hispanic/Latino populations – the fastest growing demographic in New Jersey. Program topics ranged from lifestyles, business, education, legal matters, community affairs, pop culture/entertainment, the arts, sports and the health and sciences. Images/Imagenes was launched on January 6, 1972 than titled “Mi Casa Su Casa” on NJPTV hosted by producer, Diego Castellanos. The program made history as the first Latino television series on Public Television in New Jersey to air across the Garden State and surged as the nation’s number one market in New York and the number 4 market in Philadelphia. Since then the series is recognized as a resource for top Latino stories, both at local, as well as the national level. Award Winning Producer William Sánchez is the Producer/Director of Images/Imágenes since 1972, and is currently revitalizing a new series as its producer/director at Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey. He produced the series with the PBS NJ Television Network until the station was dissolved by the state on June 30, 2011. Within the first ten years Images/Imágenes became the leading contributor of programs for the PBS Series Presente hosted by Rita Moreno. Images/Imágenes competed with mainstream networks and was selected over ABC World News Tonight at the National Unity Awards in St. Louis. Then it rose to the top of the Latino Broadcasting Media when it was highlighted at the San Antonio Film Festival in the 1980s as a must see series on Latin Music alongside the films “LA BAMBA” and “STAND AND DELIVER.” National Recognition

For over 40 years, Images/Imágenes under the leadership of producer William Sanchez the television industry has recognized the series with four Emmys and nominated for twenty by National PBS. The series is distinguished having received numerous national acclaims from the White House, Congress, National PBS, the National Corporation for Public Broadcasting (CPB), and three New Jersey Governors. The series represented PBS in Europe, Asia, and Latin America. It was distributed by the Department of Defense and with audiences including American military bases around the world. It was also national under the Latino Consortium’s series “PRESENTE” with host Rita Moreno. Now under the banner of Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, Images/Imagenes’ legacy continues for public viewing at the United States Library of Congress. DRAFT:Summation Formula List Decline

Ok, I took your advice and added my material back onto the wiki page on summation. You watch how long it takes D Lazarus to delete it and post his own rambling notes. His notes don't transition well for sentence-to-sentence; paragraph-to-paragraph, nor make any sense; Some of what he posts really is not related to closed form summation. Roger

Dixon Algebra submission.

I have followed your instructions and I think I have successfully updated the references to conform to wiki practices.

Historical notes: • I begsn working on this topic some 40 years ago; • Periodically the algebra has cropped up in the works of others; • Most of this activity has occurred in the last 8 years; • John Baez was the first to call the algebra the Dixon algebra; • This became somewhat solidified when the Quanta Mag and Wired articles appeared; • I recently saw a blog in which the blog's author said there is no wikipedia page for the Dixon algebra yet; • So I decided to start one.

Cheers, Geoffrey Dixon

I saw your comment on my draft page 900 wine, I'm inserting the Italian wine brand on the market. Rejected article for being "too promotional"

Hello.

The page I created is rejected because it was too promotional. When it was in draft, user who reviewed it said that I need to touch on one more thing, which I did and to submit it then. I did that and it's still rejected (I know that it didn't mean I the article would the automatically accepted). Do you care to say which part is promotional? I left the bare minimum - about the bussines, a bit of history and the core of the business (placing a hotel into a specific category). I can't see anything promotional left there. I am also a bit frustrated as I keep reading similar Wikipedia pages and they are really promotional yet, I leave the bare minimum and still getting rejected. I don't see how a bit of history and about the company is being promotional.

We would like to be a part of the Wikipedia and I hope you'll help me get it there.

Thank you. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Kristijanwh (talkcontribs) 11:19, 20 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Well the first sentence says "a global collection of independent mid and upper hotels around the world" which isn't exactly neutral tone. Wikipedia is NOT a venue for promoting your business and I won't be helping you to do that. Theroadislong (talk) 11:23, 20 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Questions and Thank you for reviewing the Draft The Complete Lyrics to The Messiah by Georg Friedrich Händel

Hello! My name is Winny by the way. It is very good to hear back from your. I just want to thank you very much for having so quickly reviewed my draft submission. Yes, I know.... it is declined. How do I go about finding out the reason for declining? Also if I failed to do this right...can YOU do this project and make a submission so the complete lyric is more accessible? I don't care who post it....as long as it is there. You see...The reason why I did this was because I recently listened to The Messiah by Georg Friedrich Handel and I wanted to look up the entire lyric in Wikipedia. It ended up not being there. And I ended up having to google each individual movement (songs...and there are 53 of them) to find the lyrics. It was very frustrating. So I compiled all of these from various lyric websites. I am not sure why I can fine Enriqu Iglesias Lyric here but not Handel's Messiah here. It is true there are plenty of information on Wikipedia about Georg Friedrich Handel....including description of each movement for The Messiah. But I wish there is a list of all the lyrics on one page. And I really hope someone could do this....and have it up by Easter this year.

So Help! Thank you for reading this long message! Thank you! — Preceding unsigned comment added by WinnyHuangatEcontact (talkcontribs) 13:55, 20 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Umlaut draft

Hello, I am trying to get my article draft fit for approval since it was initially declined. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Draft:UMLAUT_(band) I realize that there isn't a huge amount of material to support the subject. The musical group exists on many music streaming websites, has been promoted in podcasts, and is tied to other subjects that do have their own wikipedia pages. Like associated acts of Mr. Bungle: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mr._Bungle

And the Umlaut band leader, who was a member of Mr. Bungle:

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Clinton_McKinnon_(musician) Should I go to one of those pages, click the link and "create page" from there instead to prove validity?

Or is it just that my draft is lacking a decent amount of supporting sources and should be trimmed, at which point it's more likely to be approved? Thank you. Catoco (talk) 22:15, 20 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Your draft is lacking enough independent reliable sources about them. Wikipedia requires multiple in-depth coverage in it's sources. Theroadislong (talk) 22:29, 20 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]

De-commercializing this page

We are doing our best to clean up the Williamsburg Christian Academy Wikipedia entry. We are stripping positive descriptors from sections and just trying to present factual information regarding the school. Unfortunately, the bulk of information available about the school can only be obtained from the school's website in terms of their philosophy, programs, and personnel. There really is no public information that has covered what people really need to know about the institution. What would you recommend that we do regarding the warnings placed on the page to make it inline with guidelines? We want the most factual detail we can get on the page, but don't want to be viewed as advertising, just providing data.

As an aside, one problem that exists here is that Google for Business draws upon the Wikipedia description of the institution. This yields temptation to improve or polish the appearance of the Wikipedia description to garner more appeal....just an observation. In my opinion, Wikipedia has no place in a commercial listing, unless it's a purely governmental or monument type location. Sullymaan (talk) 17:41, 21 March 2019 (UTC) The Maan[reply]

If the content has not been discussed in independent sources then it can't be on Wikipedia. Articles on Wikipedia must be adequately supported by reliable sources so that information can be verified

and we only summarise what reliable, independent published sources have to say about a subject. If there are no such sources then we cannot include the content and who is "we" Wikipedia accounts are strictly for single person use only. Theroadislong (talk) 17:46, 21 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Hello. You have reverted my edit on Universe on the basis that it doesn't belong in the lead section. However, the current definition of a universe contradicts many multiverse articles at once - for example, the article multiverse, which states that a multiverse is a "group of multiple universes". Of course, if a single universe encompasses all time and space, that would be impossible. Furthermore, the article Universe itself has a dedicated and relatively detailed sub-section about the multiverse hypothesis, which directly contradicts the lead. I would like to hear your arguments as to why you don't think the definition of a universe in the multiverse context does not belong in the lead section.

As for it not being clear, please explain in what way it is not clear, and possibly suggest an improved version.OlJa 20:18, 28 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]

It's not clear because it contradicts what the first paragraph says and you seem to have stated as fact what a multiverse is, whilst it is only a hypothesis and it is already noted as such a few paragraphs down. Theroadislong (talk) 23:04, 28 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]
I have italicised the articles 'the' and 'a' for distinction, and also note how the Universe is capitalised, unlike a universe. Furthermore, at the end of the sentence, it is stated that this definition only applies to "many multiverse hypotheses". Don't see any contradiction. Please read the edit clearly before reverting. To make it clearer, however, I can put this adverbial clause at the front of the sentence.OlJa 23:43, 28 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Since when is Billboard not a reliable source?

I do not understand your comments. Since when is Billboard not a reliable source? It says right in the reference that this artist co-wrote a song recorded by Dionne Warwick for Sudden Infant Death Syndrome. Her music has also been played on the BBC in addition to other things. I have seen musicians on Wikipedia with almost no references. Are you sure you're seeing the revised article? Every reference listed is either a review, radio play on a national station or a major publication like Billboard.

Ursula Holden Gill's Wikipedia Page

Hello there,

I attempted to update my Wikipedia page on Saturday evening because it has concerned me for a while that I am currently being misrepresented there. It seems the page was set up for me by someone when I was a television actress (over ten years ago). However, for the last decade I have worked as a Storyteller and Educator. As much of the information on my page is either incorrect or out of date I took pains to correct it myself but I received notification from you yesterday morning that you had changed it back again! I totally respect that Wikipedia isn't about self promotion and I assure you that is not what I'm trying to do but PLEASE could you ensure that I'm represented accurately? I've included a version of how I'd like the page to read below. Doesn't need much. Just some things taking out and updates adding in. Any problems, please contact me via ursulaholdengill@gmail.com.Thanks.

Ursula Holden-Gill (born 21 March 1974) is a storyteller and educator known initially for her acting work including her roles as school secretary Carol on Channel 4's comedy drama Teachers (2001–04) and cancer sufferer Alice Dingle on ITV's Emmerdale (2004–06).

Ursula Holden-Gill graduated from St Martin's College, Lancaster in 1996 with a BA Honours in Drama and Music before attaining an MA in Intercultural Storytelling at University of Lancaster and a PG Dip in Acting from the Drama Studio London. Her screen credits include The Bill, Sex, Chips & Rock n' Roll, Mrs Merton and Malcolm, Trial and Retribution, Doctor Willoughby, The Wyvern Mystery, People Like Us, Teachers,[1] Emmerdale, The Syndicate, Vera and Wolfblood.

I'm afraid that, like many others, you have misunderstood what Wikipedia is about. Wikipedia is an encyclopedia that summarizes what independent sources say about a subject. Wikipedia has essentially no interest in what you or I have to say about anything. We only summarise what reliable, independent published sources have to say about a subject. Dear Theroadislong, thank you for reviewing the page https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Draft:Florian_Graf. I improved the referencing in the section life and work and hope you will be able to re-review the page and let me know if there is anything else that can be improved. Many thanks! — Preceding unsigned comment added by Aniblab7 (talkcontribs) 19:46, 2 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]

The Australian and Oceanian Continent

Matthew Flinders from Our Union(The UK), if you didn't happen to know, circumnavigated The continent of Australia-Oceania back in the day.

Regarding Manish Ranjan article.

Hello!

Hope you are doing well.

I have made all the references inline as suggested by you. Kindly check and revert if anything else needs to be done here.

Request on 12:38:07, 4 April 2019 for assistance on AfC submission by Gedgmoss

Hello, thank you for your feedback but I'd like further clarification: 1) which reference is not "significant" 2) at least one reference is a published Book - is this not significant enough? 3) do I simply need to refer some references leaving only (2) ?

I understand your principles, but just more specifics on the execution. Thank you

Hi, you recently left a comment on my page that I am trying to publish - I've done a couple of edits, would you be able to take another look?

Thanks!

It would need a complete re-write, it is just blatant advertising, entirely inappropriate in tone.Theroadislong (talk) 14:49, 5 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]

John Webb Singer

I am awaiting for comments/corrections from a local expert, Sue Bucklow, who is publishing a book on Singer before July and who is curator of Singer events within the Frome Festival this year. I am also seeking permission to use an image of Singer from the local museum, the image to be placed in Wiki Commons. I will probably publish within a few pages. Many thanks for your support of the article. Philgryce (talk) 18:28, 6 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for reviewing draft of Samiran Chhetri Priyadarshi

Hi, Thank you for taking out your time to review the draft of Samiran Chhetri Priyadarshi. The only reason we have made his information available is because his stories are used in school syllabus and one his work Balibedi is used as a textbook by the University of North Bengal, India. So, having his information on Wikipedia will help the fellow students to gather information about him. The information on the draft is complete to as what we can cover on his literary life. Still I request you kind help to help me to update the draft so that it can be approved. Thank you once again. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Poemsforsoul (talkcontribs) 13:31, 7 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]

I give thanks to you (and anyone else) who was involved in reviewing and accepting the article, especially considering the fact that it is about one of Marvin Gaye's more obscure/bizarre records. {{LonerXL (talk) 18:38, 7 April 2019 (UTC)}}[reply]

Viki-BSU (talk) 06:12, 8 April 2019 (UTC)Hello. I tried to make the page better. But each has its own taste. Maybe someone did not like it - that's fine, I think so. I am going to add here my teacher’s scientific articles so that students and other specialists can use them for free. Despite the fact that he is a young specialist, but he is the first person who put forward the concept of "Document and Information Sciences" - showed their structure. He is also the author of the monograph of The Fund for Periodical Press of the Azerbaijan National Library. I am very thankfull you - for your editing my Draft.Viki-BSU (talk) 06:12, 8 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Deletion of page

Dear sir, Could you please delete the page Girish Bharadwaj — Preceding unsigned comment added by VeeraArjun (talkcontribs) 12:41, 8 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Hello,

The German wikipedia entry for Botond Roska has been approved in the meantime https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Botond_Roska I really have no idea who the author is. Reading it, I see differences in structure, but not regarding factual content to my EN draft.

Which sufficient 'secondary reliable resources' are missing in my EN draft https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Draft:Botond_Roska?

I'm really not trying to set up an advertisment page here, just try to reply to many Qs 'why is Botond not yet on wikipedia?'

Thanks for your help and for concrete hints on what I need to do to get the draft published - I am a first time wikipedia entry user (more proof for me not trying to create anything like an advertorial here) and I do not understand or use HTML, unfortunately.

Kind regards, sabine — Preceding unsigned comment added by 31.164.126.132 (talk) 10:23, 9 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]

The draft requires more sources, no knowledge of HTML is required to edit Wikipedia. Theroadislong (talk) 10:49, 9 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]
