The Hyundai Atos is a city car produced by the Hyundai Motor Company. The original Atos was introduced in 1997. In 1999, it was joined by the less controversially styled Hyundai Atos Prime.
The Atos Prime was called the Hyundai Amica in the UK, and was also rebadged as the Dodge Atos in Mexico, Kia Visto in Indonesia and South Korea.
In 2003, both models were replaced by the second generation Atos Prime. It is built in India , where it is called the Hyundai Santro.
In Malaysia, Hyundai Atos is imported and distributed by Inokom carrying the badge Inokom Atos. Inokom Atos Prime is later introduced in 2006.

Sept 1997, Hyundai Motor Company unveiled at the Frankfurt Motor Show an all-new electric vehicle, the Atos EV, based on the company's new mini-car, the Atos.
The Atos EV is a development vehicle which showcases the Korean auto company's advanced research in electric vehicles. The Atos EV weights just 2,585 pounds, including the battery pack, which holds 24 nickel metal hydride (Ni-MH) batteries. An on-board 6.6 Kw conductive charger can fully recharge the Ni-MH batteries in seven hours.
The Atos EV can travel more than 120 miles in stop and go city driving and can reach a top speed of 80 miles an hour. The vehicle has several unique features which help achieve its excellent range. 1
