The following is the 2009–2010 network television schedule for the five major English language broadcast networks in the United States. the schedule covers primetime hours from September 2009 through May 2010. The schedule is followed by a list per network of returning series, new series, and series cancelled after the 2008-2009 season. The schedule omits the Public Broadcasting System (whose programming is listed here).

Starting this season, NBC is removing scripted programming from the 10:00PM Eastern/9:00PM Central weeknight slot and instead adding The Jay Leno Show in order to save money. Also, The CW is currently eliminating its Sunday night programming block and returning that time to local affiliates.[1] And after three years as a network, MyNetworkTV will become a programming service, and therefore will not be recognized as a network but its returning programs are listed in this article. FOX announced their schedule on May 18. Both ABC and NBC will release their schedule on May 19, CBS on May 20, and The CW on May 21.
