# I'm very well aware edit warring is never one-sided; however, the person who was reverted first and keeps reverting is more in the wrong because they have not gotten the warning and the way WP:BRD works.
# I'm aware Billboard is a reliable source. I never disputed this. I said it's not a matter of "this is more reliable than this". You should have brought it up on the talk page, even pinged other editors if you wanted a quick response. I did not need to engage in the discussion. The editor seeking the change needs to get consensus.
# If you restore your change upon the page being unprotected, it will be seen as disruptive, so I'd advise that you do not do so.
# Also, if the requirement for "abusing power" is reverting edits, then were you not doing so as well? Ss112 02:56, 18 December 2017 (UTC)
::: Billboard is explicitly calling Curve a promo single. Fader is calling it a single. Not an official single. A single. Because rap blogs do not even distinguish the difference between the two. I have multiple sources supporting my claim but apparently since you've been here longer than me, you can just summon an admin to ignore my reliable sources and shut down the page. And for the third damn time, I brought it up on the talk pages days ago and you ignored it so i have no clue what why you keep saying i should have brought it up.BlaccCrab (talk) 03:06, 18 December 2017 (UTC)
:::: I didn't "summon" Oshwah to protect the page; I don't even know how they found about it. This is not about any editor being here longer, so I don't know why you keep bringing this up every time we have a dispute. No admin I know particularly favours those who have been around longer, because they're very aware that editors who have been around longer are not necessarily to be trusted more—they know all the familiar names who've been here for ages, are well known in general for hanging around ANI and those sorts of boards and have been blocked about 20 times because they flock to drama like moths flock to lights. Also, I meant brought up Billboard saying something different on the talk page, not the discussion altogether. Billboard being reliable is not something I'm disputing. Ss112 03:14, 18 December 2017 (UTC)

DJ Dahi

As part of the Wikipedia:Article Rescue Squadron, I have visited the page for DJ Dahi and made additional improvements and provided more references for saving the article, as DJ Dahi is clearly a notable artist and worthy of an article in Wikipedia. Clearly the Discogs page of the artist indicates extensive contribution to recordings of a great number of artists. werldwayd (talk) 13:02, 11 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks, sorry if I came off rude. Just when you created it at "Who Do You Love?", then at the other title, I had to move one, make like two or three redirects, and create a dab page at Who Do You Love?, probably the only reason I had not created the article for the song yet. But in the future, you might want to try to create decently sized articles rather then quick stubs, as they do not really give any information, but that's your choice. Cause if I was hardheaded editor that did not love hip hop, someone else would probably nominate short articles like that for deletion. Also whenever you do create articles, make sure you add the navboxes and categories to the pages. If you ever have any questions do not be afraid to ask me. STATic message me! 00:47, 3 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Weigh in on discussion?

Hi. Would you care to weigh in on this discussion? It concerns whether a particular review quote should be removed from an article. Dan56 (talk) 23:12, 22 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]

I was not oblivious to his billboard position and radio play. i was simply unaware of it, because the article didnt mention it, the references didnt mention it, and while there is some indication of his notability in the refs provided at the AFD, the article still doesnt mention it. I just now searched for "billboard adrian marcel" and couldnt find it. Im sure its true, but if you are so convinced that i am an oblivious editor, and that you are so much better at knowing things, why not just add the info to the article instead of insulting me? I consider myself diligent (afd'ing an article which didnt show notability, even close), and human (forgetting to do my own search, having assumed (incorrectly, and not per policy) that FANS of the subject would of course be the best people to find and use notable refs). and dont bother to apologize, anyone who would take the time to insult an editor in print, with all the time in the world to consider their words, and not even acknowledge that editors mea culpa, is obviously not a person who cares about other peoples feelings, so an apology would be empty.Mercurywoodrose (talk) 16:31, 23 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]

It's really not that difficult to look up if a song has charted or not. Also, I will apologize regardless of how bitter you just sounded because maybe you didn't just lazily nominate him for deletion; perhaps you just aren't a fan of that type of music and couldn't see the song was blowing up. Call Ya Bluff

Hey. I would like to create an article for Ludacris' "Call Ya Bluff" but don't know if it has charted on any chart. --Croxx036 (talk) 18:16, 29 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry my man, it has not. BlaccCrab (talk) 18:19, 29 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Oh shit! That song is fine but i will wait untill it charts on any Billboard chart then create an article for it. Can you check the Billboard to see if any of Travi$ Scott's song has charted there or nah. Thnx in advance bro. --Croxx036 (talk) 18:45, 29 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Single on iTunes

Hello BlaccCrab. I was completing a discography's "Singles" section and i have a question probably you would know. If a song is aviable on iTunes for digital download, should we add them in the singles section? I mean it says "Single by X" on Itunes, so does it means that it's a single? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 46.130.18.56 (talk) 16:02, 5 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Being on iTunes doesn't automatically mean it's a single for that particular album. It depends. BlaccCrab (talk) 16:14, 5 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]

But it's still a single if it's on iTunes, right? --46.130.18.56 (talk) 16:18, 5 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]
It depends...what song are you referring to? BlaccCrab (talk) 16:21, 5 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Well actually i added all the iTunes single of Waka Flocka Flame to his discography article. --Eurofan88 (talk) 16:25, 5 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Listen buddy i have a question. In Armenian Wikipedia my article about Future's "Real and True" is about to receive the status of good article but i'm still trying to expand the "Release" section. I just wanna know the meaning of Rhythm crossover radio which is written in the "Release history" section of English Wikipedia. Like how can a song be released via radio? --Eurofan88 (talk) 21:05, 19 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Random reverts

Regarding your snippy edit summary here, your lack of explanation the first time around was the time waster. But even had you politely explained, "3 year old article that has nothing to do with the release of a 2016 album", you'd still be leaving an unsourced future event, which is not a real improvement because it contravenes WP:CRYSTAL, and per WP:BURDEN, you would need to submit a reliable source along with your revert. Cyphoidbomb (talk) 05:43, 30 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Your edit made no sense. That article had absolutely nothing to do with a 2016 album. If you took 5 seconds to read the link instead of just blindly undoing edits you'd realize that. BlaccCrab (talk) 07:14, 30 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Image uploads

Hi BlaccCrab,

I noticed that you have uploaded a lot of images but have not been including the article parameter in your uploads. This places the image in a maintenance category and technically invalids the fair-use rationale. I have been going through and adding the articles to the FURs that you have done but if you could do that when you upload it that would be appreciated. Please ensure that the |article= parameter is filled in with the article you are using the image on. If you have any questions about this please let me know. Thanks! --Majora (talk) 01:19, 12 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Edit summaries

Hey BlaccCrab, thanks for your report at the edit warring noticeboard, I've blocked the editor accordingly. I did notice this edit summary in the article history for Black Beatles though. I've definitely been in that situation before, where an article is suddenly swamped with removals or additions of content that aren't justifiable, and it soon becomes disruptive. It's really frustrating. But when I've complained and insulted people in the past in edit summaries, it's really just makes things worse even if it feels right to say. People get emboldened by insults, and while we get a fair share of vandalism from anonymous editors, a lot of them do good work too. In the future, I'd just stick to describing the action and leaving out the commentary. Thanks again for your help on the article. I JethroBT drop me a line 19:56, 30 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]

I'll do my part to refrain from insults in the future, thank you for the help with the article. BlaccCrab (talk) 20:57, 30 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for correcting me on Starboy. I wanna ask you a question about the singles on the Still Brazy album, to tell which one of the singles are not official. I asked you this because you're seem to tell what a single is not. TheAmazingPeanuts (talk) 01:26, 11 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]

No problem. Just edited the page to show which ones were actual singles. BlaccCrab (talk) 08:03, 11 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks. TheAmazingPeanuts (talk) 02:45, 11 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]

You add this source in the I Decided (album) article, but the song isn't in the source, just take a closer look. TheAmazingPeanuts (talk) 21:46, 6 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Eurofan88 add this source to the article, the song is in the source but still no add date. Is this source helpful at all if it doesn't had no date in it? TheAmazingPeanuts (talk) 09:40, 9 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]
I think these two sources can be useful, they both were published on January 10 [2], [3]. I found another source which is more like a forum, where a user has posted this on January 9; "Next Rhythmic single from Big Sean's upcoming fourth album I Decided. due out February 3 called "Moves", which goes for adds tomorrow according to FMQB." --Eurofan88 (talk) 18:04, 9 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks man, I knew this was sent out smh the original add date just wasn't archived properly. BlaccCrab (talk) 18:22, 9 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]

"Power trip"

Maybe because if I changed it without notifying you, you wouldn't see. I really don't think you know what a power trip is, and I think you're just mad about being reverted and need to stop taking reverts so personally and lashing out before another administrator is notified of your terrible attitude and incivility. That's what the revert was for—to notify you instead of having to leave another message, which of course, I have to end up doing because you don't seem to understand the reason why you reverted. And no, I will not "update every chart on a page" just because you refuse to do something really quite simple. If you did it earlier, you should have remembered to do it again. Ss112 21:30, 7 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Yes i totally wouldn't see it on a page that i edit all the time. Do you know what a power trip is? Because someone pathetic enough to go around wasting time and bandwith by undoing someone's edits over an access date just (likely so they can patronize them) is ridiculous. Oh so you're going to continue to update main chart positions but then get salty when someone else updates components you forgot about? So you undo their edit and pretend it's to teach them a lesson? Good talk buddy BlaccCrab (talk) 22:33, 7 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]
I think you need to learn to get reverted without getting "salty" because contrary to your belief, not everybody who reverts somebody on Wikipedia is having a "power trip", or is trying to patronise or "teach somebody a lesson", neither of which I even said or implied. I said it was to get your attention and remind you to do it, but looks like you'll keep not assuming good faith and refusing to remain civil regardless. Ss112 01:28, 8 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]
I'm not "assuming good faith" because your explanations in your edits are annoyingly condescending. "Im tired of reminding you". I updated about 50 charts and forgot 1 access date. I don't need you to lecture me on it, just remind me by adding it saying i forgot like any other editor would have done. BlaccCrab (talk) 07:35, 8 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Well, okay then. I didn't check all your other edits, but next time I will do that. Ss112 07:43, 8 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Calling an editor "dense" when they revert your edits is also frowned upon. Magnolia677 (talk) 01:13, 15 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]
1. Quoting me saying "drop" like a living fedora and 2. Wasting time leaving up some vague estimate of when an album drops rather than leaving actual release dates is also frowned upon. No one sources albums on discog pages that link to their own respective pages. BlaccCrab (talk) 01:27, 15 February 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Tinashe discography

Just letting you know that there have been discussions on Talk:Nightride since the article began about whether it is a studio album or mixtape, which you may want to join before changing its status on her discography. I don't much care what its classification either way, but I just think we should have a consensus about what it is first. I understand a significant amount of sources use the term "mixtape", but some also use the term "digital album". Of course, mixtapes are generally regarded as albums, but it appears at least one user has raised a question about the fact that one can purchase the release, when most mixtapes are released for free. Ss112 20:56, 16 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]

I know that your source indicates that it'll be released as a single in May, however this source says that it'll be coming in March, I honestly don't know which is right or wrong. Maybe you can help me out on this. Thanks. LilNumerator (talk) 19:38, 23 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for pointing that out. Your source is directly from radio so we'll go with that over a hip hop blog. BlaccCrab (talk) 19:43, 23 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]

That's What I Like

There is a new cover for the song which was used along with the remixes, it's also available on iTunes. Shouldn't the radio promo one be switched? It's new[4] MarioSoulTruthFan (talk) 11:11, 21 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

It's apparently the reall cover with remixes pasted on. Glad there's a nice cover that's official. BlaccCrab (talk) 15:53, 21 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Single vs promo single

Hi there,

I was just a bit confused about the difference between a single and a promo single. Well, actually, I think I understand the difference. A promo single is a song released before it's parent album is released to promote it. It might be sent to radio stations, but it usually isn't sold. Taking all of this into account, Rise Against's song "Give It All" should be a normal single, since it was released after it's parent album was released. However, a few months ago, George Ho brought up that on the CD, it says "PROMOTIONAL CD – NOT FOR SALE". I was just confused as to whether this is a single or promo single. Since you have quite a bit of knowledge with music articles, I was wondering if you could clear up some confusion. Thanks! Famous Hobo (talk) 01:43, 17 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]

In the mid 2000's that may have made sense but the way so many songs are released before albums release nowadays, "Give It All" would definitely be a single. Any song that is on an album but is later released for radio is called "the next official single" in any well reputed source for at least the past 7 years. BlaccCrab (talk) 03:31, 17 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Also, that's exactly right when you mention it was released AFTER the album. Because it's one thing when you literally can't buy the song but when the album is out, you can buy it on iTunes on top of the airplay. BlaccCrab (talk) 03:33, 17 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Hello to you both, including Famous Hobo. The consensus agreed at WT:SONGS to merge infobox single into infobox song. The merger process is ongoing, so expect yourselves to use the Type= parameter when the merger is completed. --George Ho (talk) 02:03, 17 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Promotional singles can be songs released from an album's preorder (that are not sent to radio, that would make them official singles) or songs available for retail that don't make the album but were released for the album's promotional run. I don't agree with merging song into single because it's going to take forever for people to stop being confused about it and doesn't really do anything beneficial for articles. BlaccCrab (talk) 03:28, 17 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Which one of these singles are official or promo? TheAmazingPeanuts (talk) 18:58, 24 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Got you. BlaccCrab (talk) 05:58, 25 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks, you and Eurofan88 are the best when it comes to singles. TheAmazingPeanuts (talk) 00:51, 25 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Preciate it bruh bruh BlaccCrab (talk) 07:16, 25 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Hi User:BlaccCrab, would you be able to add this cover art [5] (bigger image here [6]) from the Australian Charts website to Black Beetles please? Replacing the remix art currently used on page. I personally don't know how to add images. Thanks if you can 👍--Theo Mandela (talk) 22:22, 26 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Hey what's up man? Unfortunately that cover art is fan made so we can't use it on the son page. I appreciate you reaching out though. BlaccCrab (talk) 08:45, 27 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Some editor add "Slippery" as the third single of the album with this source, do this source classified "Slippery" as a single now? TheAmazingPeanuts (talk) 20:32, 30 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Not a good source to use but it is the 3rd single. I remember seeing it on All Access Future Urban releases and if a music video drops radio doesn't automatically play old songs unless they're added to radio as well. BlaccCrab (talk) 01:47, 31 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Is May 17 correct release date for the single? TheAmazingPeanuts (talk) 21:13, 30 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]
No that editor was right when he said add dates fall on Tuesdays. So it is actually the 16th. BlaccCrab (talk) 03:54, 31 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]
That's makes sense. TheAmazingPeanuts (talk) 23:09, 30 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]

2 Chainz discography

Was this edit summary directed at Lawsilly? Because I didn't move any song to any other section. Ss112 08:06, 14 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Yeah. BlaccCrab (talk) 08:15, 14 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Walls

I had reverted your edit[7] because you removed a single without explanation and a Metacritic summary with your interpretation of multiple sources. Your edit summary, "Stupid." was not a valid explanation (and is rather uncivil.

As you have now explained the removal of the single, I am fine with that. I have removed your synthesis and restored the Metacrtic summary with a cite. - SummerPhDv2.0 12:27, 15 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]

So in other words you were too petty to realize a legitimate undo of vandalism was justified because you couldn't be bothered to read my contribution. BlaccCrab (talk) 17:50, 15 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Pretty Girls Like Trap Music

Hey where is the source for those tracks not being on physical releases? Can you show me the source for it please? Thanks. JustDoItFettyg (talk) 19:10, 16 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Look at the tracklist on the back. https://www.2chainzshop.com/products/pretty-girls-like-trap-music-numbered-vinyl BlaccCrab (talk) 19:11, 16 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Hence why the leak was an actual leak with 14 tracks instead of 16, because someone ripped the physical cd. BlaccCrab (talk) 19:12, 16 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Ok i see it, thanks for showing me it. JustDoItFettyg (talk) 19:18, 16 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Hi User:BlaccCrab, can you be on the lookout for a genre or genres for Instruction (song) please. The sources I've read indirectly call the song samba and dancehall, to me it sounds like a tech house song with production made to sound like dancehall and samba. Any edits you can make to the page would be great 👍.--Theo Mandela (talk) 09:48, 17 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]

I'll take a look later on tonight. Sorry i didn't see this sooner. BlaccCrab (talk) 20:24, 21 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Hi User:BlaccCrab, can you please add a singles cover for "Feels" please? Because the last user to upload coverart got accused of being a stock puppet.--Theo Mandela (talk) 23:28, 3 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]

There are songs listed in the infobox as the singles for the mixtape, but I not know these are official singles. Can you take a look at it. TheAmazingPeanuts (talk) 00:07, 7 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Hurtin' Me cover art

Hi User:BlaccCrab, can you upload a cover art for "Hurtin' Me" by Stefflon Don and French Montana? please--Theo Mandela (talk) 22:16, 26 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Bestie cover art

Hi User:BlaccCrab, can you upload cover art for "Bestie (Yungen song)" by Yungen and Yxng Bane? please Theo (edits) 23:30, 12 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Oversimplified notions

Regarding your edit here, song releases aren't restricted to any specific day of the week even if some days are more common than others. To give a couple of recent examples from this past year, Selena Gomez released "Wolves" on a Wednesday (October 25th) and Pink released "What About Us" on a Thursday (August 10th). Another common thing I've seen among your edits to song articles is that you seem to use radio release (or lack thereof) as the sole factor to determine whether something is or isn't a single. It's not that simple; many singles are made available for physical/digital purchase before any airplay debut, and being released to radio IS NOT a requirement to become one. Some singles are only released onto cassette, CD, or for download without an official radio add date (though some stations will play it anyway if they have access to it). There also are times when promotional singles get radio play without a single release (even if it doesn't happen nearly as often on mainstream radio or some other formats as playing singles). Just felt you should know for the future. Snuggums (talk / edits) 21:23, 11 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]

iTunes countdown singles are not singles until radio is promoted. Period. Done having this discussion. BlaccCrab (talk) 21:40, 11 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]
My point had nothing to do with "countdown" tracks that can be downloaded for free or those that are instantly given with album pre-orders; I'm talking about official releases (often those that come at least a month before parent album release without anything else coming within a week afterwards/beforehand). Radio isn't the be-all, end-all determining factor. Snuggums (talk / edits) 22:17, 11 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Man it's not 2002 anymore. If a single isn't sent out to radio, it's not a single. That Ty$ song was literally an instant grat off the preorder. If a song has individual release (separate from the preorder) fine. But any song i edit to promo only is countdown or released as an extra that doesn't make the album. BlaccCrab (talk) 06:16, 12 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Jumping in here, I would think the opposite would be true—it's not 2002 anymore, songs don't need to be sent to radio to be singles. Songs that were released as singles before an album's release sometimes have their digital releases deleted after the album is released (provided they are included on it), so months or years after the fact it's hard to say whether they ever did have separate releases if nobody has any proof of it happening at the time. There have been many instances where you have disputed songs have been singles, even ones that weren't released in the lead-up to an album so can't be technically "promotional", instant grats or countdown singles. I'm not talking about Bebe Rexha's song either. Once you deleted "My Heart Will Go On" by Zara Larsson from her discography because you didn't think it was a single, despite there being commercial CD singles of it around that were released in Sweden. WP:SINGLE? isn't policy. I'll say again: it is not a requirement on Wikipedia that songs be sent to US radio or radio at all to be commercial singles. Ss112 07:16, 12 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]
I meant promo single doesn't = radio only before physical release (2002). Anyways (again), i'm not disputing international release or physical copies. I'm disputing songs that are literally only available to download off the pre-order/album that have no impact date on radio with no sort of individual release other than spotify or being a countdown single. User:Insertcleverphrasehere (talk) 07:06, 21 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, I would like to. Thanks. BlaccCrab (talk) 11:50, 21 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Do "Gilligan", Ill Nana" and "Crumbs" should be count as singles off the album, because the deluxe version of the album have been released and these songs are now on the track list. TheAmazingPeanuts (talk) 11:05, 1 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Gilligan counts because it was sent to radio. The latter two are promotional singles because they only appear on the deluxe version and were not sent to radio. BlaccCrab (talk) 21:10, 3 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Okay, it's a good thing that I found the source for "Gilligan" was sent to radio. TheAmazingPeanuts (talk) 15:21, 3 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Nicely done. BlaccCrab (talk) 21:26, 3 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]

There are eight singles in the infobox of the album, but don't know these singles are official or not. Can you do something about it? TheAmazingPeanuts (talk) 03:01, 16 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]
