License tagging for File:Untitled (Bermuda Railway Trail), 2017, Cy Gavin.jpg

Thanks for uploading File:Untitled (Bermuda Railway Trail), 2017, Cy Gavin.jpg. You don't seem to have indicated the license status of the image. Wikipedia uses a set of image copyright tags to indicate this information.

To add a tag to the image, select the appropriate tag from this list, click on this link, then click "Edit this page" and add the tag to the image's description. If there doesn't seem to be a suitable tag, the image is probably not appropriate for use on Wikipedia. For help in choosing the correct tag, or for any other questions, leave a message on Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. File permission problem with File:ChrisGarneau2.jpg

Thanks for uploading File:ChrisGarneau2.jpg. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file has agreed to release it under the given license.

If you are the copyright holder for this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

  • make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
  • Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add {{OTRS pending}} to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.

If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.

If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:File copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:File copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described in section F11 of the criteria for speedy deletion. You may wish to read Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. October 2020

Hello, I'm Balon Greyjoy. Wikipedia is written by people who have a wide diversity of opinions, but we try hard to make sure articles have a neutral point of view. Your recent edit to Jordan Firstman seemed less than neutral to me, so I removed it for now. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. Balon Greyjoy (talk) 17:11, 8 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Kaitlin Phillips moved to draftspace

An article you recently created, Kaitlin Phillips, does not have enough sources and citations as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. Hi :) I just wanted to explain that I've restored the notability tag which I had placed there earlier and which you removed subsequently without really addressing the issue. This writer has three self-published novellas and one upcoming 'big name'-published novel. That wouldn't qualify them for notability as an author, so the notability hinges on WP:GNG, which requires significant coverage in multiple independent, reliable sources. IMO, none of the ones listed as references at the moment meet that criteria, and simply adding more of the same won't do the trick, you'll need a couple of solid ones to create at least the assumption of notability, until then the tag should remain in place. I hope that makes sense, but if you have any questions or comments on this, ping me back. Cheers, -- DoubleGrazing (talk) 16:23, 24 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Response to: DoubleGrazing

Hi! I added two additional hyperlinks to the section that mentions that the novel was published by Penguin Random House. PRH is one of the largest and most prestigious publishing companies in the world. The book was reviewed by Marie Claire (reputable) and Alma (so-so). There's a lot of detail in the THEM.us article referenced which goes into the nuances of why Torrey's novels do qualify her for notability as an important literary author; she will be one of the first transgender authors publishing fiction, non non-fiction, in the mainstream literary world. I might be jumping the gun here...but she will definitely have a lot of buzz and major press coming out over the next few months.

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Total Freedom (DJ) requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a band or musician that does not credibly indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. ~ Chip🐺 19:02, 1 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Blocked

Hi, it looks like Ninjapiraterobot blocked smalltownsquirre and randomly also blocked me. I don’t fully understand why nor how someone might be using my IP address. Would this mean my laptop or iPhone is hacked? It looks like this error happens from time to time on the petition for editor deletion page: “ Occasionally a user has the same IP address as a blocked user, and is shown a block message describing that other user's activity. If you receive a block notice not directed at your actions, you should ask for assistance calmly as described below and the matter will be investigated.” Mostly confused by this and seems a bit random and annoying. Is there a way to get this resolved? Frutti xperiment (talk) 04:13, 10 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]

User: Ninjapiraterobot please help. I think you’ve mistaken me for someone else. Does this mean I’m being trolled or hacked? Frutti xperiment (talk) 04:23, 10 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]
