Why did you flag my article?

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Keaton_Dadigan — Preceding unsigned comment added by Kdadigan9 (talkcontribs) 03:07, 19 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I nominated your article because Keaton Dadigan does not appear to be notable nor does the article show the importance/significance of the subject (Keaton Dadigan). Please provide sources for the article. -- Cheers, Riley Huntley talk 03:10, 19 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I did some work with Kate Forster but didn't end up finding much in the way of references. After all that I noticed that the author removed your CSD template (!). So feel free to replace the template if you still find it speediable and don't worry about my additions. An article with the same title was deleted 2 years ago as well. It looks as though she might be on the verge of notability if the one source is correct, but probably not yet. Sorry it took me so long to notice ;) heather walls (talk) 07:59, 19 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Great work! The two refs are good enough for me. Thank you for shining your talent on the article! -- Cheers, Riley Huntley talk 13:52, 19 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Riley Huntley. I'm leaving you this message because you have previously been involved as an adopter with Wikipedia's Adopt-a-user program. A clean-up of this program is currently underway, and as part of the process I am trying to find out who is and isn't still interested in remaining an adopter.

If you would prefer not to be part of the adoption program anymore, you need do nothing; when the overhaul of the project is completed your name will be removed from the list of active adopters. However, if you have current adoptees, an active adoption school or an interest in adopting in the near future, then please let us know by signing here.

If you want to remain in the project and can currently take on more adoptees, there is a serious backlog at Category:Wikipedians seeking to be adopted in Adopt-a-user; it would be enormously helpful if you could take on one or two of the users there. Please do keep an eye on the project for upcoming changes, we could use your opinions and your help! Yunshui  09:17, 19 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

A barnstar for you!

The Special Barnstar
Riley, I cannot thank you enough for starting the uw-attempt series of templates. I've always wanted to, but I'm nearly clueless about templates (besides DYK). I've always thought that the standard {{uw-attempt}} was too bitey and was really a level 3 warning. Thank You! Electric Catfish2 21:09, 19 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you! -- Cheers, Riley Huntley talk 03:25, 20 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Hi there. ome serious suggestions for a total overhaul are now being made. In anticipation of the possible implementation of these changes, some things that could immediately help reduce the bureaucracy, would be to reduce the banter and the use of 'clerking' style micro templates. I have proposed one solution that puts the entire CVU 'school' on one single page, placing responsibility for project management squarely at the hands of the 'active' trainers themselves, obviating any forms of secondary discussion. An updated draft is available at here. Kudpung กุดผึ้ง (talk) 02:01, 20 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

6,500 shiny rubles!

I remember you gave me a barnstar for making 2000 edits.

I've passed that amount by a multiple of 3! Very excited. --Activism1234 21:28, 23 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Invitation to RfC

Hi Riley. As you are involved in editor retention, I wanted to invite you to participate in an RfC regarding adding color differentiation to Wiki markup, particularly towards references. Page Curation newsletter

Hey ~riley. This will be, if not our final newsletter, one of the final ones :). After months of churning away at this project, our final version (apart from a few tweaks and bugfixes) is now live. Changes between this and the last release include deletion tag logging, a centralised log, and fixes to things like edit summaries.

Hopefully you like what we've done with the place; suggestions for future work on it, complaints and bugs to the usual address :). We'll be holding a couple of office hours sessions, which I hope you'll all attend. Many thanks, Okeyes (WMF) (talk) 11:24, 24 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

CVUA

Hi ~riley. I'm leaving you this message because you have previously been involved with Counter-Vandalism, and may still be. The Academy project has been restructured, placing responsibility for it on the trainers themselves and as part of the process I am trying to find out who is still interested in remaining as active trainers.

In future, there will be no clerking or coordination, so If you are still active and can respond to requests from students within around 48 hours, you need do nothing until a new student contacts you on your talk page. Nevertheless, if your status changes, please update your entry on the table of active trainers at the new WP:CVUA page. If you no longer have sufficient time to commit to the CV training project, that's fine, but please remove your name from the active list. While on your travels however, should you come across users who are having a hard time with their reverts, don't hesitate to send them a link to the CVUA. Thanks, and happy editing! Kudpung กุดผึ้ง (talk) 17:38, 25 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks, Kudpung. We really needed your help to guide the CVUA in the right direction! -- Cheers, Riley Huntley talk 18:36, 25 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on File:IMG 0180.JPG requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section F2 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is an image page for a missing or corrupt image or an empty image description page for a Commons-hosted image.

If you think that the page was nominated in error, contest the nomination by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion" in the speedy deletion tag. Doing so will take you to the talk page where you can explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but do not hesitate to add information that is consistent with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Yo, the links you see in the "brain" that have a 12 before them work fine in the channel, the 12 is part of the colour control code and it gets parsed by whatever IRC client people are using into the blue colour. Test them out before you delete them! Cheers, Alex J Fox(Talk)(Contribs) 21:42, 2 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I did test before I edited the commands and I didn't see any colors. Might have been because I was using a IRC client on my phone. Hm.. will fix! -- Cheers, Riley Huntley 23:59, 2 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Wait don't links show up blue automatically? -- Cheers, Riley Huntley 00:00, 3 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Nope, not in any client I know of. They are recognised as links and made "clickable" but are left plain-text! Alex J Fox(Talk)(Contribs) 18:56, 3 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Reflinks

Catfish directed me to ask you my questions, so I will: When using reflinks, is it really as simple as just entering the name of the article you want to edit and then saving any changes generated? Please check my contributions and see if I used the tool properly. Thanks. AutomaticStrikeout 20:47, 4 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, it is that easy! Your edits with the tool look great, keep up the good work! Do note though, it can only do so much, so sometimes you might have to make a tweak to the generated reference title. Thank you so much for your contributions to Wikipedia, I look forward to seeing you around. -- Cheers, Riley Huntley 22:22, 4 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, my friend. I pillaged the images at User:Riley Huntley/Pastebin and added them to Wikipedia:Requested articles/Images. I hope you don't mind. I've asked before if I can pinch a few, and you said yes. I actually grabbed them all. I figured that you can zap the ones from Wikipedia:Requested articles/Images that you want to retain. It's just easier to do them en masse. Also, it will take a long time for users to turn those links blue. Let me know if all this isn't okay, and feel free to pull whatever you like from Wikipedia:Requested articles/Images. Many thanks, Anna Frodesiak (talk) 05:01, 5 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Cavendish bananas

Cavendish bananas are in fact eaten raw; they are the most common type of bananas found in American supermarkets, and the most common use for them is to be eaten raw. The previous text made it seem they were only used in dishes when they are most commonly eaten raw by themselves. 76.231.150.69 (talk) 01:39, 6 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Ah, thank you for informing me. :) -- Cheers, Riley Huntley 01:45, 6 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I would also admonish you to use a little common sense - saying that cavendish bananas are eaten raw is certainly not vandalism by any stretch of the imagination. I think you might be a little too hasty to revert an edit just because it comes from an unregistered user - remember that IPs are human, too and some of us are also experienced users who, from one reason or another, don't bother to log in anymore. Remember that 80% of edits made by IPs are legitimate edits the next time you are tempted to push the undo button just because the person who made the edit is an IP. 76.231.150.69 (talk) 01:54, 6 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I am quite aware that IPs are human too, I actually enjoy working with IPs on several Wikipedia pages and I was not tempted to push the revert button just because an IP made the edit. I cannot find the Wikipedia page but, I am human too and humans make mistakes! I am sorry for this mistake and happy you brought it to my attention. I have one question though; In the end, why did you decide to remove your words? -- Cheers, Riley Huntley 02:05, 6 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Those_annoying_underscores_and_EditPad

Do you still use EdiPad? You can make a baby macro to get rid of those underscores on the spot. Call it ctrl-_ and make the macro simply replace _ with a space. I keep EditPad open for composing messages, so I just need to do ctrl-_ and presto, spaces get swapped in. Anna Frodesiak (talk) 21:25, 6 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I know you requested the logo for your wikivessels proposal, but as that proposal is not going anywhere in its current iteration, would you be opposed to my putting forth a variant of said logo as a possibility for use for the travel guide, as it seems it would fit for that? If it is used for that and if the wikivessels ever does get off the ground in some fashion, I would be more than happy to create a new more specifically tailored logo for that. -— Isarra 01:29, 7 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I don't know what I was thinking when I made that proposal *shrugs*, feel free to modify it for Wikitravel! Since you would be happy to make a more tailored logo, how about making a motorboat/yacht one? ;) -- Cheers, Riley Huntley 01:38, 7 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help.
