Revision as of 00:36, 22 December 2023

If you are unable to complete a move for technical reasons, you can request technical help below. This is the correct method if you tried to move a page, but you got an error message saying something like "You do not have permission to move this page, for the following reasons:..." or "The/This page could not be moved, for the following reason:..."

  • To list a technical request: edit the Uncontroversial technical requests subsection and insert the following code at the bottom of the list, filling in pages and reason:

    {{subst:RMassist|current page title|new title|reason=edit summary for the move}}

    This will automatically insert a bullet and include your signature. Please do not edit the article's talk page.
  • If you object to a proposal listed in the uncontroversial technical requests section, please move the request to the Contested technical requests section, append a note on the request elaborating on why, and sign with ~~~~. Consider pinging the requester to let them know about the objection.
  • If your technical request is contested, or if a contested request is left untouched without reply, create a requested move on the article talk and remove the request from the section here. The fastest and easiest way is to click the "discuss" button at the request, save the talk page, and remove the entry on this page.

Not sure if the song is more notable than the film, because the film received an award nomination. The film's article makes the film look less notable but it could be improved. Also there is a song of the same title at Connie's Greatest Hits which could be a search term. I recommend that the namespace for You're Gonna Miss Me be transformed into a disambig page for navigating to all three items. ---DOOMSDAYER520 (TALK|CONTRIBS) 15:59, 21 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I concur, this is a good choice for a dab. - UtherSRG (talk) 16:18, 21 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
  • Reply - Is it OK if we move the discussion to the talk page as contested? --Jax 0677 (talk) 17:54, 21 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
    • You just need to click on the "discuss" link to start a discussion there. -Kj cheetham (talk) 19:10, 21 December 2023 (UTC) P.S. May also want to copy the discussion from here too. -Kj cheetham (talk) 19:11, 21 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
  • The Aayatya spelling appears to be in the sources. Bensci54 (talk) 17:38, 19 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
This is a WP:PCM. If you wish to continue with your request, click the discuss link in your request to begin a formal WP:RM discussion. Once you've done that, or if you do not wish to continue, please remove your request. Thanks! - UtherSRG (talk) 18:29, 19 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
  • Florida Panhandle (currently a redirect to Florida panhandle)  Florida panhandle (move · discuss) – Not consistently capped in sources per WP:NCCAPS and MOS:CAPS. Cinderella157 (talk) 03:10, 20 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
    @Cinderella157: New York Times uses it capitalized. — Preceding unsigned comment added by PK-WIKI (talkcontribs) 05:26, 20 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
    PK-WIKI, overall, sources only capitalise it about 50% of the time. It comes nowhere near the threshold for caitalisation per MOS:CAPS (and WP:NCCAPS). Cinderella157 (talk) 10:13, 20 December 2023 (UTC) PK-WIKI fix failed ping. Cinderella157 (talk) 11:47, 20 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
    Agreed. I would have thought this is fairly slamdunk. I can't imagine an objective RM would conclude anythign other than that we should move it.  — Amakuru (talk) 14:41, 20 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
  • Terrell Bynum (American football)  Terrell Bynum (move · discuss) – Currently, "Terrell Bynum" redirects to a disambiguation page between the football player and Terrell Ward Bynum, a philosopher. In December, the philosopher has gotten 24 pageviews to the football player's 271, an average of 13 per day. A quick Google search also produces results just for the football player, not the philosopher. The football player should have the non-disambiguated name, and the disambiguation page should get "(disambiguation)" added to its name, if not deleted entirely --- it only has these two pages. A hat note can be be applied to both. Debartolo2917 (talk) 02:23, 21 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
    @Debartolo2917: I'll contest this. Terrell Bynum (American football) became a professional football player this year, and the article was created a month ago. More time or stronger evidence is needed to conclude that there is a primary topic. See WP:PT2 ("substantially greater enduring notability and educational value"), WP:NOPT, WP:RECENTISM. (If you would like to go ahead with the move, you can open an RM discussion by clicking "discuss".) SilverLocust 💬 03:52, 21 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
  • Appy Pie (currently a redirect to AppsBuilder)  AppsBuilder (move · discuss) – Article was originally at this title. It was moved to Appy Pie AppsBuilder in 2022 with an edit summary reasoning "Owned by Apply Pie, there website redirect to Appy Pie" - but they may have just bought the domain, no reliable sources have written about it. I moved the article to Appy Pie while cleaning up the article just now, misreading that as being the new name for the software, but AppsBuilder looks like the most accurate title to use based on sources.
