Adobe Express (formerly Adobe Spark)[1] is a unified task-based, web and mobile app developed by Adobe Inc.[2] With drag-and-drop technology, Creative Cloud Express enables users to make multimedia content including social media posts and stories, invitations, and marketing materials like logos, flyers and banners. Creative Cloud Express includes templates, fonts, royalty-free photos and other creative assets.[3]

History

Adobe released three mobile apps which included Voice in May 2014, Slate in April 2015, and Post in December 2015. The mobile apps were designed to be used for social media, websites, advertisements, and more. The apps were popular upon their release as Adobe Voice eventually was named Best App of the Year on the iOS App Store by Apple.[4]

While the three iOS apps were popular on the App Store, Adobe launched the Adobe Spark web tool in May 2016, which integrates the three mobile apps together for users on the web. With the made change, the three previous iPad and iPhone apps were renamed as Spark Post, Spark Page, and Spark Video.[5]

Adobe Spark Post

Adobe Spark Post is a social graphics application for the iPad, iPhone, and Android device developed by Adobe Systems in December 2015. It combines text editing, desktop publishing, vector editing, and photo editing which is used to produce social media posts.[6]

Eventually in 2016, Adobe Post would become Spark Post due to the new Spark web tool. In 2018, the Spark team announced that Spark Post 2018 was now available for Android phones and tablets.[7]

On December 13, 2021, Adobe Spark Post was replaced by Adobe Creative Cloud Express for the iPad, iPhone, and Android.[8]

Adobe Spark Page

Adobe Spark Page (formerly Project Luca)[9] is a text and photo storytelling application for the iPad and iPhone developed by Adobe Systems in April 2015. It combines word processing, desktop publishing, text editing, and photo editing which is used to produce typed or photo-edited stories.

Adobe launched the Slate app on the web in October 2015 in order for Slate projects to sync automatically between the web and iPad versions using Creative Cloud.[10] It eventually became Adobe Spark Page.[11]

Adobe Spark Video

Adobe Spark Video is a video storytelling application for the iPad and iPhone developed by Adobe Systems in May 2014.[12] It edits users' voices, adds backing music, and then automatically generates animated motion graphics synchronizing the narration and corresponding visuals.[13]

It became the company's first application to be named by Apple as an App Store Best App of the Year[4] and has been downloaded over 3.5 million times.[14] It would then be renamed to Adobe Voice.[15]
