Vote
Republican candidate, Richard Nixon won against John F. Kennedy by 76,776 votes and by 3.02%.[ 1] As of the 2016 presidential election [update] , this is the last election in which Escambia County , Clay County , Okaloosa County , and Santa Rosa County voted for a Democratic presidential candidate.[ 2] Finally, this is the first time since 1924 that Florida voted for the loser of the presidential election.
