Amrit Lugun (born 22 November 1962) in Ranchi, Jharkhand), appointed as the Ambassador of India to Greece.[1] He also served as a senior Indian Foreign Service officer.

Education & early life

Lugun's mother-in-law Sushila Kerketta was a Congress MLA and the party candidate from Khunti parliamentary constituency in Jharkhand. [2]

Service

Before joining Sana’a was Director in the SAARC Secretariat, Kathmandu, Nepal. Served as number two officer in the Indian Embassy, Manila (March 2009 – September 2010). Prior to that served as Director handling territories of Eurasia and Latin America in the Ministry of External Affairs from September 2004 till December 2008. In 2006, successfully attended the 46th National Defence College course, Delhi. Cd’A/First Secretary, Embassy of India, Algiers, Algeria (January 2002 – August 2004) First Secretary, Embassy of India, Paris, France (October 1998 – December 2001) Second Secretary, Embassy of India, Doha, Qatar (June 1995 – September 1998); and Desk Officer for India Technical and Economic Cooperation Programme in the Ministry of External Affairs from July 1993 to June 1995. [3] Earlier he was the Ambassador of India to Republic of Yemen. He is currently JS(CPV) MEA, New Delhi, India
