The 8 governorates of Lebanon are subdivided into 24 districts (Aqdya, singular – qadaa) as Dr. Salah Isam Abou Chacra (PhD in Geography, Beirut Arab University) recounts. The Beirut Governorate and Akkar Governorate are not subdivided into districts, (centres, "مراكز" of the governorates and districts are in parentheses.)

List of districts

Akkar Governorate (Halba)

Baalbek-Hermel Governorate (Baalbek)

Beirut Governorate (Beirut)

Beqaa Governorate (Zahlé)

Mount Lebanon Governorate (Baabda)

Nabatieh Governorate (Nabatieh)

North Governorate (Tripoli)

South Governorate (Sidon)

The districts are further divided into municipalities.
