Tarneit railway station serves the western Melbourne suburb of Tarneit. It is on the Deer Park - West Werribee railway line in Victoria, Australia, which forms part of the Regional Rail Link.[1][2][3]
The station was officially opened on 14 June 2015 by Victorian Premier Daniel Andrews and the Commonwealth Minister for Infrastructure & Regional Development Warren Truss, and services commenced on 21 June 2015.[4] It quickly became the second-busiest V/Line station after Melbourne Southern Cross.[5]
The station will eventually become part of the metropolitan network under the Western Rail Plan, announced by the Andrews government in 2018.[6]
