Satu Mare Airport (IATA: SUJ, ICAO: LRSM) is an international airport located in north west Romania, 14 km (8.7 mi) south[1] of Satu Mare municipality, the capital of Satu Mare County.

History

Satu Mare Airport is one of the first airports in Romania, officially opened in 1936.[8] The first plane that arrived to Satu Mare Airport was a Junkers 34 airplane, that operated the Cluj - Satu Mare - Oradea - Cluj route.[citation needed] The current runway was inaugurated in 1975.[citation needed]
