Tap Step is an album recorded by Chick Corea in 1979 and 1980.[1]

Recording, music and critical reception

The album was recorded in December 1979 and January 1980.[2] All of the seven tracks were Corea originals first released on this album.[1] In review issued on May 3, 1980, Billboard editors noticed that Corea experimentalize on Tap Step with 3 types of Moog synthesizers, Oberheim, Rhodes and Bösendorfer and a Hohner duo keyboard. Such approach made this album modern but sometimes "freakish and unmusical".[4]
