The Berlin Borough School District is a community public school district that serves students in pre-kindergarten through eighth grade from Berlin Borough, in Camden County, New Jersey, United States.

As of the 2014-15 school year, the district and its one school had an enrollment of 1,250 students and 70.0 classroom teachers (on an FTE basis), for a student–teacher ratio of 17.8:1.[1]

The district is classified by the New Jersey Department of Education as being in District Factor Group "DE", the fifth-highest of eight groupings. District Factor Groups organize districts statewide to allow comparison by common socioeconomic characteristics of the local districts. From lowest socioeconomic status to highest, the categories are A, B, CD, DE, FG, GH, I and J.[3]

Public school students in ninth through twelfth grades attend the Eastern Camden County Regional High School District, a limited-purpose, public regional school district that serves students at Eastern Regional High School from the constituent communities of Berlin Borough, Gibbsboro and Voorhees Township.[4] As of the 2014-15 school year, the high school had an enrollment of 2,014 students and 144.0 classroom teachers (on an FTE basis), for a student–teacher ratio of 14.0:1.[5]

Awards and recognition

The New Jersey Alliance for Social, Emotional and Character Development (NJASECD) recognized Berlin Community School as 2012 New Jersey School of Character (NJSOC) - honorable mention.[6]

The district was selected as one of the top "100 Best Communities for Music Education in America 2005" by the American Music Conference.[7]

Berlin Community School serves grades PreK-8.[8] The school served a total of 847 students as of the 2014-15 school year.[9]
