Bird Watching (ISSN 0269-1434) is a British four-weekly (13 issues per year[1]) magazine for birdwatchers, established in March 1986. Distributed by subscription and also through newsagents, it has, as of May 2011, a cover price of £4.10.[1]

History and profile

Bird Watching was established in 1986.[2] Key content areas include bird identification, location guides, skills development, recent sightings, and news and reviews.

Its contributors include notable birders such as Nick Baker,[1] Dominic Couzens[1] and David Lindo.[1]

Originally published by EMAP,[3] the magazine is published monthly by Bauer Consumer Media of Peterborough.[1] Its ABC-certified total average net circulation/distribution per issue for 2010 was 17,511,[3] of which just over 7,400 were newsagent sales[3] and over 9,800 went to subscribers.[3]
