I have noticed that many individuals in this category were only born in British Palestine, but have nothing to do with it and have grown up and lived in Israel. I think they should be removed (e.g. Arik Einstein). Please share your thoughts. -- Ynhockey(Talk) 09:18, 12 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

The original discussion was in 2007, and today I think the category should be deleted. It's inherently problematic, and will either:
List all of the Jews who were either born or lived in the pre-state area, which is completely useless, or:
List those Jews associated with that period, for example Avraham Stern, Yosef Trumpeldor, etc. This is inherently OR, because who will decide which people were really associated with the period?
Isn't it straightforward to work out who was resident in Ottoman and British Palestine 1516-1948? Ian Pitchford (talk) 17:19, 14 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]
