Move

[edit]

Movedd from Category:Survivors because it was being used for people as well as aircraft, and the name was a bit vague. Sorry for the disruption. T L Miles (talk) 00:01, 27 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

The result of the proposal was move per request. No opposition and current naming scheme does suffer from the grammatical problem stated, i.e, these names imply to a native English speaker that the article will discuss human survivors in some manner. I have also reviewed Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Aircraft#Survivors articles rename and Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Aircraft/Lists of surviving aircraft where there was significant support for the naming scheme suggested here. As Jafeluv mentions below, the renaming of the category is not going to be handled through this process. Please list the category renaming issue at WP:CFD.--Fuhghettaboutit (talk) 02:24, 13 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Category:Survivors (aircraft)Category:Lists of surviving aircraft — These titles are just grammatically incorrect! It gives the idea that it is about people who have survived in said aircraft. And don't compare it to List of Foo operators because here it does refer to people operating said aircraft. -- P 1 9 9 • TALK 14:20, 3 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

  • Support - Per nom. Also, I am requesting that the chosen names (new or current), be move-protected, as creator of most of these articles believes he is the owner of them, and periodically makes moves to his preferred titles. - BilCat (talk) 20:22, 3 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]
  • Neutral on the proposal. We would lose the logical display of suggested separate page when entering the aircraft type in search box. Would prefer an alternative, but agree some disambiguation needed. eg 'A-26 Invader surviving airframes'. Support Bilcat suggestion, due to bad behaviour as described.PeterWD (talk) 13:14, 4 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]
