Eisenhower Trophy

The Eisenhower Trophy is a biennial world amateur team golf championship for men organized by the International Golf Federation. It is named for Dwight D. Eisenhower, the President of the United States when the tournament was first played in 1958, who was a keen amateur golfer. Recent tournaments have featured teams from more than 70 countries. The equivalent competition for women is the Espirito Santo Trophy.

The "Great Britain and Ireland" team represented the two separate independent countries of the United Kingdom and the Republic of Ireland from 1958 to 2000. From 2002, England, Scotland, Wales, and Ireland (a combined Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland team) have competed as separate teams.
