Ji'an (Chinese: 吉安; pinyin: Jí'ān) is a prefecture-level city in Jiangxi province of the People's Republic of China. It has an area of 25,219 km² and a population of 4,810,340 at 2010 census whom 460,194 live in the built up area made of 2 urban districts.[1] The local speech is a variety of Gan Chinese.
The former deputy governor of the central bank of the PR of China, Xiao Gang, is from here. This city is also the home of Jinggangshan University.

The Ji'an municipal region comprises two districts, Jizhou and Qingyuan, a county-level city and ten counties.

Geography
Ji'an has a humid subtropical climate (Köppen Cfa) affected by the Asian monsoon, with long, humid, very hot summers and cool and drier winters with occasional cold snaps. Monthly daily averages range from 6.5 °C (43.7 °F) in January to 29.5 °C (85.1 °F) in July, with an annual average of 18.4 °C (65.1 °F). The average annual rainfall is 1,520 millimetres (60 in).
