Karjan is a city and a municipality in Vadodara district in the Indian state of Gujarat.

Demographics

As of the India census,[1] Karjan City had a population of 1,22,123. 52% of the population]] was male, and 48% was female. The average literacy rate is 91%, higher than the national average of 60.5% [citation needed]. In Karjan City, 37% of the population is under 10 years of age.

Karjan City is divided in Juna Bazar and Nava Bazar. National Highway 8 passes through Juna Bazar.

Famous spiritual place of Rang avadhudh maharaj asharam 'Nareshawar' is in Karjan Taluka.

Karjan City has also been famous for its Saree Market , wholesale Market , Vegetable Market people come from across Vadodara to shop in Karjan City.

Karjan City is nearer to Vadodara City about 25-30 Km.

Karjan City is also famous for snacks like samosa and khaman.

Karjan city is surrounding by some major villages like Miyagam,Anastu,Abhara,Mangrol,Kurai.

Now Karjan City is increasing in residence area and in industrial area.

There are also Domino's Pizza, Baskin-Robbins, Subway, Café Coffee Day, Honest Restaurant, and Amul stores which are most popular in Karjan City .

Metropolitan area is beginning to develop in Karjan City.

Education System

There are 19 schools in Karjan, among them the Shah N.B. Sharvajanic high school and Sabari High School are very famous.now today there are chinmay international school, brightminds preschool,Prarthna school opened.also dhyan vidhyala is good school.

Industry

Far from being a tribal region, it has now developed into an industrial hub with major industrial companies setting up manufacturing bases in the region.

With groups like Tebian Electric Apparatus, Jindal Steel and Power, TTK Group, Cosmo Films LTD , etc. are located in Karjan.
