Template:Korean name Kim Jung-hwan (born 2 September 1983) is a South Korean fencer.[3] He is ranked number 1 in 2016 in sabre.[1]

Career

He took up fencing in junior high school in 1996, influenced by a friend and his physical education teacher.[1]

At the 2012 Summer Olympics, he won a bronze medal in the Men's team sabre event. In the individual event he was defeated in the second round.[4]

In the 2014–15 Fencing World Cup, Kim won gold at the New York Grand Prix in individual men's sabre,[5] and finished the season ranked world #2 behind team-mate Gu Bon-Gil.[1] He is the 2015 Asian Champion.[6]
