Maldivian Air Taxi is an air taxi service based in Malé in the Maldives. It operates float-equipped Twin Otters on tourist charters throughout the Maldives. Its main base is Malé International Airport.[1]
History
The airline was established in 1993 by Danish investors and started operations in the same year. It is wholly owned by Lars Erik Nielsen (Chairman) and has 275 employees (at March 2007).[1]
Fleet
The Maldivian Air Taxi fleet includes the following aircraft (at March 2007) and is operated in connection with Kenn Borek Air[1] :
- 2 De Havilland Canada DHC-6 Twin Otter Series 100
- 1 De Havilland Canada DHC-6 Twin Otter Series 200
- 15 De Havilland Canada DHC-6 Twin Otter Series 300
- 2 De Havilland Canada DHC-6 Twin Otter Series 400 (Viking Air Delivery Q3 2009)

Careers
The Maldivian Air Taxi does not directly employ their employees. In specific, for pilots wishing to fly for MAT; they would have to apply directly to Kenn Borek Air,who then goes through the interview process to hire a pilot.
