Wuilmer Gabriel Becerra (born October 1, 1994) is a Venezuelan professional baseball outfielder in the New York Mets organization.

On December 17, 2012, the New York Mets traded Catchers Josh Thole and Mike Nickeas, Right-handed Pitcher R.A. Dickey to Toronto Blue Jays for Catcher John Buck, Right-Handed Pitcher Noah Syndergaard, Catcher Travis d'Arnaud and Outfielder Wuilmer Becerra. Becerra was assigned to Gulf Coast League Mets upon his arrival to Mets but began his career with the Kingsport Mets in 2014.

The Mets added him to their 40-man roster after the 2016 season. He was designated for assignment in October 2017.[1]


Andrés Giménez

Andrés Alfonso Giménez Osorio (born September 4, 1998) is a Venezuelan professional baseball shortstop in the New York Mets organization.

Giménez signed with the New York Mets as an international free agent in July 2015.[2][3] He made his professional debut in 2016 with the Dominican Summer League Mets and spent the whole season there, batting a combined .350 with three home runs, 38 RBIs, and a .992 OPS. In 2017, he played for the Columbia Fireflies where he slashed .265/.346/.349 with four home runs and 31 RBIs in 92 games.[4][5]

Giménez was rated as the best Mets prospect after the 2017 season by Baseball America.[6]

Adam Hill (born March 24, 1997) is an American college baseball pitcher for the New York Mets organization. He is 6-5 and weighs 225 lbs.

Hill attended T. L. Hanna High School in Anderson, South Carolina.

Adam Hill was drafted by the San Diego Padres in the 39th round of the 2015 MLB Draft, but he elected to honor his college commitment to the University of South Carolina. In his first year with the Gamecocks, he posted a 3.53 ERA in 66.0 innings, allowing 49 hits, walking 28, and striking out 72. In his sophomore year, he posted a 3.04 ERA in 77.0 innings, allowing 56 hits, walking 39, and striking out 87. Through 14 starts this season, Hill has posted a 4.08 ERA in 75.0 innings, allowing 49 hits, walking 46, and striking out 92. [7]

South Carolina pitcher Adam Hill, a T.L. Hanna alum, was taken by the New York Mets in the fourth round with the 110th overall pick of the 2018.[8] He is expected to sign with the New York Mets.[9]. On June 22, 2018 the Mets officially signed him.[10]

Jordan Humphreys

Jordan Humphreys (born June 11, 1996) is an American professional baseball pitcher in the New York Mets organization.

Humphreys attended Crystal River High School in Crystal River, Florida and was drafted by the New York Mets in the 18th round of the 2015 Major League Baseball Draft.[11][12] He made his professional debut with the Gulf Coast Mets where he posted a 1.54 ERA in 11.2 innings.

Humphreys pitched 2016 with both the Kingsport Mets and Brooklyn Cyclones, pitching to a combined 3-6 record and 3.58 ERA in 13 games started between both teams. He started 2017 with the Columbia Fireflies[13][14] and was later promoted to the St. Lucie Mets. In 13 combined games started between the two teams, Humphreys posted a 10-1 record with a 1.79 ERA and a 0.87 WHIP.[15]

Humphreys underwent Tommy John surgery on August 29, 2017, thus ending his 2017 season.[16]


Franklyn Kilome

Franklyn Kilome (born June 25, 1995) is a Dominican professional baseball pitcher in the New York Mets organization.

Kilome signed with the Philadelphia Phillies as an international free agent in 2013.[17] He spent 2014 with the Gulf Coast Phillies where he posted a 3.12 ERA in 40 innings pitched. He pitched in 2015 for the Williamsport Crosscutters[18][19] where he posted a 3–2 record with a 3.28 ERA. Kilome spent 2016 with the Lakewood BlueClaws, pitching to a 5–8 record and 3.85 ERA. Kilome began 2017 with the Clearwater Threshers, and after posting a 6–4 record and 2.59 ERA, he was promoted to the Reading Fightin Phils where he finished the season, going 1–3 with a 3.64 ERA.[20] The Phillies added him to their 40-man roster after the 2017 season.[21]

On July 27, 2018, Kilome was traded to the New York Mets in exchange for Asdrúbal Cabrera.[22]


Desmond Lindsay

Desmond Alban Lindsay (born January 15, 1997) is an American baseball outfielder in the New York Mets organization. He was drafted by the Mets in the second round of the 2015 Major League Baseball Draft, out of Out-of-Door Academy in Sarasota, Florida.[23] Lindsay was the Mets first pick in the draft as they forfeited their first round pick by signing Michael Cuddyer. He was committed to attend the University of North Carolina but the Mets signed him away from his commitment, giving him a signing bonus of $1,142,700.[24]

After signing, he was assigned to the GCL Mets, and after he batted .304 with one home run and six RBIs in 21 games, he was promoted to the Brooklyn Cyclones, where he finished the season batting .200 in 14 games. He began 2016 in the GCL, and after batting .364 in his first five games, was promoted back to Brooklyn, where he batted .297 with four home runs, 17 RBIs and an .868 OPS in 32 games. Lindsay spent 2017 with the Columbia Fireflies where he posted a .220 batting average with eight home runs and 30 RBIs[25] before undergoing ulnar nerve transposition surgery in late July, thus ending his season after 65 games.[26]

MLB.com ranked Lindsay as New York's seventh ranked prospect going into the 2018 season.[27]


Ryder Ryan

Ryder Michael Ryan (born May 11, 1995) is an American professional baseball pitcher in the New York Mets organization.

Ryan attended North Mecklenburg High School in Huntersville, North Carolina, where he played baseball for his father, Sean.[28] As a junior in 2013, he hit .597 with 29 RBIs along with pitching to a 0.28 ERA in 54.2 innings.[29] He committed to play college baseball at the University of North Carolina for the North Carolina Tar Heels the summer before his senior year.[30] As a senior, he batted .536 with six home runs and 28 RBIs while also pitching to a 7-1 record and a 0.57 ERA.[31] Although he was projected to be drafted as high as the third round in the 2014 MLB draft,[32] he was not drafted until the 40th round by the Cleveland Indians.[33] He did not sign and instead enrolled at North Carolina.

In his freshman and sophomore years at North Carolina, Ryder appeared in only 33 games as a hitter, and only one game as a pitcher.[34] After his sophomore year, he was drafted once again by the Indians, this time as a pitcher, in the 30th round of the 2016 MLB draft.[35] He chose to sign with Cleveland rather than return to school.[36] After signing, he made his professional debut with the AZL Indians where he was 0-1 with a 3.86 ERA in 18.2 relief innings pitched. He began 2017 with the Lake County Captains, where he was named a Midwest League All Star after compiling a 0.84 ERA in 21.1 innings pitched.[37]

On August 9, 2017, Ryan was traded to the New York Mets in exchange for Jay Bruce.[38] He finished the year with the Columbia Fireflies. In 41 relief appearances between Lake County and Columbia, he was 3-4 with a 4.14 ERA.[39] In 2018, he began the season with the St. Lucie Mets, where he was named a Florida State League All Star after posting a 1-0 record, a 1.77 ERA, and a 0.93 WHIP.[40] He was promoted to the Binghamton Rumble Ponies in late May.[41]

Jervis Harvin "Champ" Stuart (born October 11, 1992) is a Bahamian professional baseball outfielder in the New York Mets organization.

Stuart attended Christ School in Arden, North Carolina, and Brevard College.[42] Playing for Brevard's college baseball team, the Brevard Tornadoes, Stuart was twice named to the All-South Atlantic Conference team. The New York Mets in the sixth round, with the 176th overall selection, of the 2013 MLB draft.[43][44][45]

Stuart signed and spent 2013 with the Kingsport Mets where he batted .240 with one home run and 14 RBIs in 43 games. In 2014, he played for the Savannah Sand Gnats[46] where he compiled a .256 batting average with three home runs, 28 RBIs, and 29 stolen bases in 81 games, and in 2015, he played for the St. Lucie Mets[47] where he slashed .176/.271/.242 with four home runs and 17 RBIs in 97 games. He spent 2016 with the Binghamton Mets and St. Lucie, posting a combined .240 batting average with eight home runs, 34 RBIs, and 40 stolen bases in 114 total games between the two clubs, and 2017 with the Binghamton Rumble Ponies where he batted .222 with five home runs, 34 RBIs, and 35 stolen bases in 101 games.[48]

Stuart played for the Great Britain national baseball team in the 2017 World Baseball Classic qualifying round at MCU Park in September 2016.[49]


Thomas Szapucki

Thomas Mathew Szapucki (born June 12, 1996) is an American professional baseball pitcher in the New York Mets organization.

Szapucki attended William T. Dwyer High School in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida. He was drafted by the New York Mets in the fifth round of the 2015 Major League Baseball Draft.[50] He made his professional debut that season with the Gulf Coast Mets. He started 2016 with the Kingsport Mets and was promoted to the Brooklyn Cyclones during the season.[51][52] Szapucki finished 2016 with a combined 4-3 record and 1.38 ERA in 52 total innings pitched between two teams. He spent 2017 with the Columbia Fireflies, posting a 1-2 record, 2.79 ERA, and a 1.17 WHIP in 29 innings[53] before undergoing Tommy John surgery in July, thus ending his season.[54]

MLB.com ranked Szapucki as New York's fifth ranked prospect going into the 2018 season.[55]
