Shpagiza league (Pashto: شپږيزه سيالۍ) also written as Shpageeza (means SIXES), which is a Twenty20 format cricket league where 5 different zone teams across Afghanistan participate for the title. The league/tournament started in 2013 and from then it usually takes place every year. The most recent edition is the Shpagiza (third edition) held in August 2016. It is currently supervised by ACB Vice-President Dost Mohammad Nazari, who serves as the League's chairman and Commissioner.[2]
History
The League was established in 2014 with the first season running through that year. 5 zone teams were concurrently established in 2014 to become the inaugural competitors. Afghanistan Cricket Board announced a second season of the competition will be held in August/September 2014.[3]
Teams
Shpagiza was playing among 5 zones of Afghanistan but on 23rd Aug 2015 a new team (Mashal Eagles) officially sponsored by Aatif Mashal and will participate as a 6th team in 3rd Eddition of Shpagiza. Here are those teams participating in the Shpagiza tournament of T20 format;
- Kabul Mashal Bazan (Mashal Eagles) is the new side captained by (Asghar Stanikzai) and Coached by [Unknown]
- Spinghar Prangan (Spinghar Tigers), captained by Afghan star fast bowler Hamid Hassan and coached by Hasti Gul. Which represents the provinces of Kunar, Nooristan, Laghman and Nangarhar.[4]
- Band-e-Amir Khamaran (Band-e-Amir Dragons), captained by Afghan star all-rounder and concurrent national captain Mohammad Nabi and coached by Australian coach Peter Anderson. Which represents the provinces of Kabul, Kapisa, Maidan Wardak, Parwan, Bamyan, Dai Kundi and Panjsher.
- Bost Satunki (Bost defenders), captained by Afghan left arm fast bowler Shahpur Zadran and coached by Abdul Wali Amin. Which represents the provinces of Kandahar, Helmand, Uruzgan, Zabul, Nimroz, Herat, Farah, Ghor and Badghis.
- Mes Ainak Atalan (Mes Ainak Knights), captained by former Afghan national captain Nawroz Mangal and coached by Raees Ahmadzai. Which represents the provinces of Khost, Logar, Paktia, Paktika and Ghazni.
- Amu Nehangan (Amu Sharks), captained by Afghan national medium fast bowler Mirwais Ashraf and coached by Dawlat Ahmadzai. Which represents the provinces of Kunduz, Takhar, Jawzjan, Badakhshan, Balkh, Baghlan, Samangan, Sar-i-Pul and Faryab.

The champion of 2016 edition was the Kabul Eagles. The champion of 2015 edition was the Spinghar Prangan (Speenghar Tigers). The champion of 2014 edition where the Mir Ainak Atalan (Mir Ainak Knights).
