There has been racially-motivated vandalism to the page. Wgullyn (talk) 19:09, 8 April 2021 (UTC)
- Wgullyn, this is not the place to request protection. You should take your request to WP:RFPP. For now, there doesn't seem to be too much vandalism, so protection is likely not needed. — Berrely • Talk∕Contribs 19:13, 8 April 2021 (UTC)
- Not done: requests for increases to the page protection level should be made at Wikipedia:Requests for page protection. Sincerely, Deauthorized. (talk) 20:32, 8 April 2021 (UTC)
- There is in fact an open request for protection on that page. Is anyone going to act on it? 50.248.234.77 (talk) 20:34, 8 April 2021 (UTC)
- Looks like this was done 👍 //Lollipoplollipoplollipop::talk 07:32, 9 April 2021 (UTC)

This article should be merged to Phillip Adams (American football)
[edit]The notability of this incident is tied directly to the perpetrator, not to any other facts, and it will not grow beyond the current short article. In particular, the perpetrator is dead by his own hand, so there is no more story to come. At the moment it is just an attractive nuisance for drive-by racism. It's best to simply merge instead of trying to expand it. 50.248.234.77 (talk) 19:53, 8 April 2021 (UTC)
- I wholeheartledly agree. Geschichte (talk) 20:15, 8 April 2021 (UTC)
- I wholeheartedly disagree. A mass shooting with this many fatalities deserves a standalone article regardless of who the perteprator was. I was following this story in the news well before the identity of the shooter was known and was thinking already then that we'll need to create an article about this event. Also, here the victim, Robert Lesslie, was a prominent doctor and author, who may quite possibly WP:AUTHOR and merit a WP article of his own as well, judging by his Amazon profile page [1]. - I disagree with the original post; I agree with User:Nsk92, above. Thanks. Joseph A. Spadaro (talk) 00:33, 9 April 2021 (UTC)
- I agree with User:Nsk92. This is a major shooting and is worthy of its own article. Wgullyn (talk) 01:24, 9 April 2021 (UTC)
- Yes, previous notability of people involved makes a mass shooting & mass murder such as this one more notable. Jim Michael (talk) 16:59, 11 April 2021 (UTC)
Number of deaths
[edit]I believe the number of deaths from the "2021 Rock Hill shooting" as described should be five, not six. Adams did not kill himself until well after the mass shooting had occurred (one day), and did not do so in the same location. AllegedlyHuman (talk) 14:20, 9 April 2021 (UTC)
- I agree. In situations like this one perhaps an explanatory footnote could be added, but I believe that for the shooting itself the number of deaths should be specified as 5, per the argument above. Nsk92 (talk) 14:26, 9 April 2021 (UTC)
Additional death
[edit]Unfortunately, the second repairman -- the victim who was in critical condition -- has now also died. One source: [2]. Thanks. Joseph A. Spadaro (talk) 03:24, 11 April 2021 (UTC)
