The result of the move request was: Moved to 2024 Iranian missile strikes in Iraq and Syria. Strong consensus in favour of changing the name but there were a range of different proposals which made identifying the name-variant that received consensus hard, however this appears to be the variant that was favoured by the most people.

2024 Erbil attack → ? – It appears that they were coordinated attacks on targets in Syria and Iraq aimed at responding to the Kerman bombing and killing resistance leaders, as stated in the Iranian statement. Sakiv (talk) 00:28, 16 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Agree move to include Syria. 2024 Iranian ballistic missile attacks in Iraq and Syria is suitable. It's important to make a distinction by using ballistic missiles as attacks alone could be misinterpreted as being part of Attacks on U.S. bases in Iraq and Syria (2023–present). I believe 2024 Iranian airstrikes in Iraq and Syria would be a more fitting title since Iran did not just launch ballistic missiles but suicide drones as well. And it makes for a shorter title. RamHez (talk) 02:05, 17 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Airstrikes are offensive operations carried out by aircraft...delivered from aircraft such as blimps, balloons, fighter aircraft, attack aircraft, bombers, attack helicopters, and drones. Shorter is better, but doesn't this generate assumptions that there will be a series of paired attacks by Iran on Iraq & Syria throughout 2024? What about 2024 Erbil/Idlib attacks? Is there a known Iranian operation name (e.g. Operation Erbil/Idlib, Operation Kerman Revenge...)? 02:52, 17 January 2024 (UTC)

Support: These attacks were carried out just prior to the 2024 Iranian missile strikes in Pakistan, and did not just target Iraqi Kurdistan. The missile attack in Iraq and Syria was launched concurrently. The attack in Pakistan came a day later. There is also little to no information regarding the missile strike in Syria, so it doesn't warrant a separate article. WP:NOTNEWS. Ecrusized (talk) 10:03, 19 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Although the two missile attacks occurred on the same day, they have three differences: different targets (ISIS personnel or Kurdish businessmen), different missiles used (long-range missiles over 1000 kilometers or short-range missiles within 100 kilometers), and different countries.
