Orphaned references in Aaryn Gries

[edit]

I check pages listed in Category:Pages with incorrect ref formatting to try to fix reference errors. One of the things I do is look for content for orphaned references in wikilinked articles. I have found content for some of Aaryn Gries's orphans, the problem is that I found more than one version. I can't determine which (if any) is correct for this article, so I am asking for a sentient editor to look it over and copy the correct ref content into this article.

Use of the word "Racist" in the main page

[edit]

Looking back through several edits, it appears that there is some edit-warring around the her appearance on Big Brother. Some edits will include that her remarks were racist, while other edits characterize the remarks as "sensitive comments", other edits remove these edits altogether citing them as unfair. As noted in several of the article's sources, she hired a PR firm. These firms have been known to scrub unflattering references from Wikipedia. For this page, any use of "racist" is always removed within a week. This has occurred as recently as June 2020. This leads me to believe that the PR firm is still actively removing the word racist from the article as a form of Sockpuppetry. Considering all of that, I would recommend that future edits use the words that our sources use. The overwhelming majority of sources cited characterize the remarks as racist. It may very well be that part of her notoriety is because of the racist remarks on Big Brother. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2600:8804:1F00:122F:4925:98E9:39DB:5EA0 (talk) 19:04, 26 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]
