Unspecified source for Image:Actavis-logo.gif

[edit]

I found Image:Actavis-logo.gif and noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. Someone will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If it was obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, then their copyright should also be acknowledged.

As well as adding the source, please add a proper copyright licensing tag if the file doesn't have one already. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self-no-disclaimers}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Fair use, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If there are other files on this page, consider checking that they have specified their source and are tagged properly, too. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 16:14, 31 May 2007 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Fair use rationale for Image:Actavis-logo.gif

[edit]

Image:Actavis-logo.gif is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

If there is other other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 16:14, 31 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Note COI

[edit]

A user who appears to be a representative of the company has been directly editing this article in violation of WP:COI and without declaration, in violation of the Terms of Use. I have tagged the article for COI and that tag needs to stay until independent editors review the article for WP:NPOV, WP:PROMO, etc and remove it. If you do so, please leave a note here. Thanks. Jytdog (talk) 11:59, 31 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]

The sentence listing the product portfolio has cites that link directly to adverts for products. Other cites are links to PR releases as opposed to reliable sources. This article needs some serious trimming. 79616gr (talk) 16:01, 31 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Actavis to Allergan Merger

[edit]

Merger Proposal

[edit]

I work for Makovsky, Allergan (Actavis)'s public relations firm. Today we announced that Actavis will be moving forward with the Allergan name, and we would like to merge and redirect the content from Actavis to Allergan. Since Actavis will be dissolved and the entity no longer in existence the historical background can be maintained through the Allergan page. LANEYC (talk) 16:14, 15 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Can we please institute a redirect to the Allergan page? Or add a note that states this Company is now -- Allergan. LANEYC (talk) 12:57, 16 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Please note that there is WP:NODEADLINE in Wikipedia. I think what you propose makes sense and am willing to do it, but wanted to wait to see what others think. Jytdog (talk) 13:26, 16 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]
I could have the wrong end of the stick - but why would you redirect the Actavis page to Allergan, just to re-add the info into the Allergan page? For example, on Valeant Pharmaceuticals we see it acquired Salix Pharmaceuticals in February-April 2015 and yet we still have separate pages, is that not the rationale we should display here? XyZAn (talk) 16:03, 16 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]
in my view the merger makes sense. it is not hard to do and would end up telling the story better. it is not like either article is enormous. a redirect is not appropriate - LANEYC is new to WP and I believe they do not understand how things work. Jytdog (talk) 16:19, 16 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]
I can't see an issue with a merge, it makes sense, but the Actavis article still contains paragraphs of PR speak with no cites. I am happy to relook at article once a merge has occurred to avoid doing the same work twice. 79616gr (talk) 17:18, 16 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Actions taken October 2015

[edit]
It's obvious these articles were in a horrendous mess, no one could understand what happened acquisition wise, therefore I have taken the following steps:
  1. – renamed the Allergan article to Allergan, inc, this article details everything about the old Allergan, up to it's acquisition by Actavis, plc. I have removed info relating to Actavis, plc and any information about acquisitions post-merger.
  2. – restructured the Actavis, plc article to show it's original history, i.e its Watson dealings, Warner Chilcott and Forest labs acqusitions. I have (tried) to make it clear that Actavis still exists as the US Generics division of the company
  3. – finally, I created a new article Allergan, plc which details everything post-merger, specifically the name change from Actavis, plc to Allergan, plc and any post deal acquisitions.

I think the cladograms help give an overview. XyZAn (talk) 19:14, 24 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]

opioïde crisis

[edit]

Hi Fellow Wikipedians,

I was browsing through the DEA database provided by the Washington Post : https://www.washingtonpost.com/graphics/2019/investigations/dea-pain-pill-database/

When looking for Mallinckrodt on Wiki, I saw that it mentioned the role of the corporation in the Opioïde Crisis. Actavis being the second largest on the list, I was wondering if it was possible to edit the article the same way the Mallinckrodt one have been.

It's a very naïve comment on a sensitive issue. I hope I don't anger anyone by asking and not doing.

Have a nice day/night, wherever you may be.
