[edit]heard of that before ..
So touchy and POV: "ottomans killed 100K people, then killed 600K more. So round, exaggerated and unbelievable numbers. Ottomans were fighting at north, east, south, west. Is it possible to find any ammo for a fallen, collapsing empire to kill those thousands of thousands of people --JohnEmerald 14:01, 24 April 2006 (UTC)
"Many of the Armenians, when about to be killed, were given the option of saving their lives by converting to Islam. Few did." -- Not sure if this statement is based on fact. Can it be proven that such an offer was made? Can it be proven that such on offer was rejected? I think it should be removed. User:Mdozturk
"Having an Armenian grandmother as a Turkish man, myself heard of the stories from the first hand. Armenians, living in the West part of Anatolia including my grandmother's family were sent to Halep (now in Syria) and after the was was over taken back to their homeland. During the hard and tiring journey, many were dead. Though, she has no record of the Armenians living in the East. Before judging history, the conditions has to be fully analyzed."

Include only directly relevant information
[edit]I would like to encourage everyone not to add any information not directly pertaining to the commemoration of the genocide and the significance of the date. Users can get all the information they need about the genocide itself from the Armenian Genocide article. All disputes concerning the genocide, its causes, casualties, etc, should be constrained to that article. --Aramգուտանգ 18:16, 24 April 2006 (UTC)
- I was going to say the same thing. Let the NPOV fights occur on the main genocide article. I personally think mass killings most likely took place, but this article is not the place to argue about it. I'm editing the article accordingly. --BlueMoonlet 18:43, 24 April 2006 (UTC)
- If someone wants to keep the text I just deleted, it should be on the Armenian Genocide page (which I have no interest in editing). Not here. --BlueMoonlet 18:45, 24 April 2006 (UTC)

Genocide Remembrance Day → Armenian Genocide Remembrance Day – The Armenian Genocide wasn't the only genocide. This may be confusing and misleading for some. Étienne Dolet (talk) 18:51, 10 May 2014 (UTC)
Procedural comments
[edit]- for some reason the architect Gabriel Ter-Mikelov was lodged in half of the template, I assume it's a copy paste problem and have corrected it In ictu oculi (talk) 01:46, 13 May 2014 (UTC)
- and I further repaired the request. The proposer should speak up if we have not correctly interpreted their intentions. Wbm1058 (talk) 17:57, 13 May 2014 (UTC)

why in Russian?
[edit]Why is the title given in Russian? or Turkish for that matter? Turkey is the reason for the commemoration, but hardly commemorates it.--Richardson mcphillips (talk) 11:52, 24 April 2018 (UTC)
