Nationality
[edit]Given that Hansen was in Brum from 3 months old she should clearly be cat as a native, SqueakBox 17:43, August 19, 2005 (UTC)
- Per her IAAF biography she came to the UK (London, not Birmingham) aged six years.
- Even three months would not be "native"; that means "born in".
- London, not Birmingham, in any case, when she did come to the UK.
Please stop the vadalism. Tonywalton | Talk 15:15, 23 August 2005 (UTC)
What vandalism? there has been none. Stop maliciously accusing someone of vandalism when no vandalism has occurred. And yes at 3 months old would imply being a native, SqueakBox 16:10, August 23, 2005 (UTC)
- There's no "implication" here - it's a statement of fact, and an erroneous one. Please check on what "native" actually means; it does not mean "brought up in" or "lives in", neither of which apply in this case anyway. As for "malicious accusations of vandalism", I suggest you think about what repeated reversion to a falsehood in this article (plus, unaccountable, adding "Bill Oddie" to it) looks like. Regards Tonywalton | Talk 16:48, 23 August 2005 (UTC)
I repeat, stop making false and what now seem to be entirely malicious claims of vandalism. no vandalism has occurred. you are acting like the classic POV warrior accusing others of vandalsim who disagree with their POV. Desist, pereferably apologise, and don't make false claims of vandalism again or you will get into trouble as such behaviour is not tolerated here at wikipedia, SqueakBox 16:53, August 23, 2005 (UTC)
Your definitioon of native is wrong, IMO, and I am not alone. The Bill Oddie insertion was a clear mistake, not vandalism, SqueakBox 16:53, August 23, 2005 (UTC)
- Dear me, you do seem to be an excitable chap.
- "IMO" is an ironic constuction to use for someone accusing me of holding a POV, I should have said. However my "POV" on the meaning of "native" is sourced from Merriam-Webster's dictionary, Chambers' 20th Century dictionary and, ironically, Wiktionary. Chambers does mention one's "upbringing"; I concede that point, however since we're talking about someone who didn't even move to the UK until they were past 6 years old, and even that wasn't to Birmingham, I still consider that adding this cat would be a factual inaccuracy, Where, apart from what you yourself freely state to be your opinion, is a reference to the contrary?

I am not arguing for its reinsertion. I was wtrong. I was not vandalising, SqueakBox 17:57, August 23, 2005 (UTC)
- That's all right then. Tonywalton | Talk 18:04, 23 August 2005 (UTC)
