I don't know if there's been any vandalism on this page, but it sure looks like it. in other words.... perfect — Preceding unsigned comment added by 184.6.37.35 (talk) 21:01, 21 June 2011 (UTC)
More guest appearances
[edit]Biz is also featured on the album "Sillium" by Fünf Sterne Deluxe. He raps some parts in "Will Smith, Meer Gayne", a parody of another song by Fünf Sterne Deluxe called "Willst du mit mir geh'n".
Youtube Video
[edit]Who's the retard who tried to imbed a Youtube video in this? I removed the badly done attempt. For the record, I don't think you can do this. TDude695 00:11, 30 August 2006 (UTC)
Oh Snap! / Merge Suggestion
[edit]There has been a lot of concern that Oh Snap! doesn't warrant an article on its own, and that most of what has been written about it constitutes OR. I'm suggesting a merge to include it as a small paragraph in this article since its creation is attributed to Biz Markie.--Crossmr 16:15, 9 December 2006 (UTC)
Uh, it's great that this merge went through and all, but I came here looking for "oh snap" and the article says nothing about it. The phrase doesn't even appear anywhere in it.
Not every reference given is in thorough detail, but I've never in my life heard "Oh snap!" used as a 'salutation,' as is stated here. If this is true, and to my knowledge it's not, it should still most definitely take a back seat to the definition synonymous with "Zing!" --CO
Oh Snap should not be merged here, if it's not going to be even mentioned. --Wolfer68 (talk) 23:14, 2 March 2008 (UTC)
There's not a single reference to "oh snap" in the entire article. Why does "oh snap" re-direct here? Kar98 (talk) 23:45, 1 June 2008 (UTC)
"Oh Snap!" comes from the lyrics of one of his songs, "Just A Friend". I also came here looking for information about the phrase, "Oh Snap!", not about an artist who included it in one of his songs. MizardX (talk) 23:53, 15 September 2008 (UTC)
- There used to be information in this article about "Oh, Snap" and its being picked up and popularized later. What happened to it? I agree about the merge: it shouldn't redirect here if there is no explanation. Ileanadu (talk) 11:04, 22 January 2009 (UTC)
Not a mentally challenged human being
[edit]Um, as hilarious as the line "Despite his looks and the way he acts, Biz, is not a mentally challenged human being." is to myself, it's not particularly professional, so I've scrapped it. --Shinyplasticbag 02:18, 31 December 2005 (UTC)
- He's not retarded? After seeing the tune-up commercial, his mannerisms and speech sure do make him look retarded. He has that retard grin and jacked up teeth after he says "auto-magically" at the end. Oh well, he looks retarded even if he's not. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 76.255.87.96 (talk) 20:54, 3 October 2010 (UTC)
He is retard but say the many white girl likes himm becuse of he is a lage peni, so , they will like to him! So you??!! This is it. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 124.33.208.179 (talk) 08:01, 16 September 2013 (UTC)

"guest star" appearances in "In Living Color"
[edit]What would be the best way to introduce Markie's several "guest star" appearances in In Living Color in 1993 and 1994? B.Wind 10:23, 1 May 2006 (UTC)
stage name
[edit]I always figured Biz Markie's stage name was a punning reference to Otto von Bismarck. Though I don't think I ever saw any explicit statement to that effect. It just seemed obvious. What else could it mean?
But once I went looking for such an explanation, I noticed it was conspicuously absent. And, come to think of it, maybe references to nineteenth-century European historical figures (or even to World War II battleships named after them) wouldn't have a lot of recognition value to hip-hop fans in the 80s. So maybe I was wrong on that one.
In any case, an explanation of where the stage name "Biz Markie" came from, or at least when the artist started using it (along with the requisite citation from a reliable source) would be a nice addition to this article.
TypoBoy (talk) 20:58, 4 March 2013 (UTC)
I don't have a citation, and searched online for this, but according to the German Wikipedia, the inspiration comes from both Bismarck and baseballer Biz Mackey. No citation given.
--82.81.233.38 (talk) 13:53, 21 June 2017 (UTC)
- Thanks for pointing that out. Four years later, that claim was still being made on the German Wikipedia, still without a citation. I took it out. TypoBoy (talk) 15:35, 15 April 2021 (UTC)
I don't think his stage name has anything to do with Otto von Bismarck, and as always we should leave that out without a reliable source. (Heroeswithmetaphors) talk 03:43, 17 July 2021 (UTC)

BLP issue in Early life
[edit]A ticketing website is not RS for BLP, so EventBrite can’t be used for the claim he attended Longwood High School. And the second citation for that claim doesn’t even MENTION Longwood High School.
I can’t edit the piece since it’s locked, but these are BLP violations. I don’t think Patchogue-Medford, which some have claimed is necessarily correct, so I’ve removed the citation I had placed here. We need to remove any mention of his high school until we have proper RS.—2600:1017:B802:34E:84BD:7FA7:E0E7:F7C5 (talk) 19:57, 1 July 2021 (UTC)
