[edit]The Portuguese article (pt:Lei anticorrupção (Brasil)) was not too impressive, so rather than translating it, I created this one from scratch. Nevertheless, there might be portions worth bringing over, hence the {{Expand Portuguese}} banner. Mathglot (talk) 08:45, 23 January 2020 (UTC)
Note on the Provisional Measure 703 of 2015
[edit]The article says "Provisional Measure 703/2015 made it easier for companies to apply for the benefits of a leniency agreement, and also changed the nature of the benefits".
Provisional measures remain in force for a limited time and lose their effect if not voted and approved in Congress, in which case they'd become a regular law.
See Art. 62, § 3 of the Brazilian Constitution:
§ 3 The provisional measures, with the exception of the provisions of §§ 11 and 12, will lose effectiveness, from the moment of [their] publication, if they are not converted into law within a period of sixty days, extendable, under the terms of § 7, once for the same period, and the National Congress to discipline, by legislative decree, the legal relations arising therefrom.
The provisional measure in question lost its effect due to not being voted in Congress, therefore the changes it made to the Anti-Corruption Act are no longer valid.
See 1 ("Vigência encerrada") and 2 ("Loss of effectiveness, as a result of the expiration of the deadline for its vote in Congress"). Torimem (talk) 20:41, 26 June 2023 (UTC)
