Car-Jacked (novel) → Draft:Car-Jacked (novel) – WP:N and new editor creating several: 1. single source fails WP:GNG 2. lack of sources / no award etc doesn't meet WP:NBOOK. 3 new editor creating several articles in article space that fail GNG / risk CSD/AfD better to draftify. (mea culpa It appears the first one Draft:Arsenic For Tea of these two I draftified myself which after re-reading may have been technically over the line as it wasn't new page reviewed by me but User:Theinstantmatrix who doesn't have the bit and should have sent it back IMHO. Anyone should undo undo my move if sending to AfD is deemed better for keeping moral high with a new editor) Widefox; talk 03:01, 6 February 2018 (UTC)
- Oppose. WP:AfD is really the appropriate venue for this proposal. Moving out of mainspace is more like a deletion than a simple change of title. Having said that, we're not a bureaucracy, but I would probably vote keep at AfD since a quick google search shows a number of independent reviews and an award nomination. - Oppose @ShyPinkLolly: is a new editor getting the hang of things. Won't comment on the other articles, haven't looked, but this one passes WP:NBOOKS having been nominated for a major award. The user needs a bit of encouragement and guidance, and a bit of help with things like WP:FILEUPLOADWIZARD to upload a cover, but basically this is the kind of article and editor we want to encourage. - Withdraw We all agree encouragement needed hence my two Wikipedia:NOTBUREAUCRACY attempts at avoiding AfD for a path to draft for both of them, when nobody wants to delete or give that impression. AfC is needed for nurturing here, with copyvios, sourcing, and other beginners mistakes. It's totally inappropriate that new page patrollers pass articles with a single source, and/or just sourced to the author. WP:BOOKCRIT 2. is
won a major literary award
which this hasn't Sarah Crossan won it, so notability rests on normal sources per BOOKCRIT which is failing here, and I wasn't lucky at finding a review. I question how we balance nurturing in article space (the combative AfD isn't an option IMHO). But, as contested, I withdraw unconditionally and have reverted the other one too. Thanks, regards. How ShyPinkLolly responds
[edit]Thanks for the feedback. I am a new wikipedian and haven't much experience in creating an article. Those which I have made ae usually destroyed and complained about, as a result of my lack of experience. I would be grateful if you could help me edit these articles so that they fulfil Wikipedia's standards! I often credit sources, but they are usually very high-profile websites and aren't calssified as a proper reference, sadly for me. I do not understand how to upload a picture. Thanks ShyPinkLolly (talk) 20:35, 8 February 2018 (UTC)
