Lead

[edit]

Early life

[edit]
  • "Hart was born on August 13, 1998" - needs a reliable source since it is not mentioned in the PhillyVoice citation attacted to the end of the sentence this portion of text is a part of
  • Wikilink the terms saves and goals to the appropriate articles
  • "(best known for working with NHL goaltender Braden Holtby)" - avoid using the phrase "best known for"
    •  Done all of the above. Linked his birthday to his NHL player profile.

Junior

[edit]
  • Spell out MVP in full and put the acroynms in parentheses on the first mention only
  • "After displacing starting goaltender Austin Lotz," - when did Hart displace Lozt?
  • "Hart finished his rookie season with an 18–5–2–3 record" - The Everett Silvertips source does not mention that but Hockey Canada does, so putting the latter source with the one already attacted at the end of this sentence will help here
  • "Hart continued to excel in his second season with the Silvertips," - try not to use non-neutral language such as "excel" here
  • Wikilink entry-level contract
  • "again receiving the Silvertips' Most Valuable Player award[14]" - add a comma between "award" and the citation
  • "Hart missed the first month of his 2017–18 WHL season after contracting mononucleosis, which fatigued him and made him lose 20 pounds (9.1 kg)." - not mentioned by the Everett Herald source citing this sentence
  • "In addition to receiving the Silvertips MVP award[14]" - missing comma between "award" and the citation
  • "Hart received the Everett Silvertips Community Relations Award[14]" - same issue as above
    •  Done all of the above.

Professional

[edit]
  • "The Flyers' American Hockey League affiliate," - the acryonms of the American Hockey League should be in parentheses on the first mention only
  • "Hart was be one of eight goaltenders" - was to be
  • "He made his NHL debut on December 18 in a 3–2 win against the Detroit Red Wings, the youngest goaltender since Carey Price to win his NHL debut and the youngest in Flyers history." - repetition of "win"
  • "Hart was the first NHL player since Steve Mason with four consecutive wins as a starting goaltender before age 21." - to have four consecutive victories to avoid repetition of "wins"
  • "When the season was suspended on March 12 due to the COVID-19 pandemic in North America, Hart had a 24–13–3 record, a 2.42 GAA, and a .914 SV% in 43 games." - needs a reliable source to verify its accuracy
  • "When the NHL resumed for the 2020 Stanley Cup playoffs in Toronto, Hart was one of 31 Flyers selected for the bubble." - needs a reliable source to verify that it is correct
  • Montreal Canadiens does not need to be linked here since it is already linked in the early life section
  • "becoming the second-youngest goaltender in NHL history to record back-to-back playoff shutouts." - a little rewording will be in order since this portion of text is a little too-closely worded to the Associated Press source verifying it
  • "and done in "the heat of the moment."" - the text in bold will need a little rewording because it is too close to the Philly Inquirer reference verifying this fact
    •  Done all of the above.

Playing style

[edit]
  • "which he believes many goalies employ" - more formal; goaltender
  • "Brought in as the starting goaltender, he was sidelined after allowing three goals in 17 shots by Russia and was called up again only when Connor Ingram gave up two goals in three shots by Sweden." - not verified by the Everett Herald source used for it. Another reliable source that explicitly states all this information is needed
  • "and he has been praised for his "calm, cool and collected" demeanor on the ice;" - praised by whom?
    •  Done all of the above.

International play

[edit]
  • "Canada defeated Sweden in the gold-medal match[65]" - there is a comma missing between "match" and the citation
  • "and Hart ended the tournament with a 5-0-1 record, tying the Canadian world junior career record at 8-0-2." - all the hyphens should be replaced with en dashes (–) per MOS:DASH

References

[edit]
  • The hyphens in the titles of References 10, 11, 15, 17, 20, 40, 43 should be replaced with en dashes (–) per MOS:DASH where appropriate.
  • Reference 27 "Carter Hart makes more history with 2nd CHL Goaltender of the Year award" is missing the work
  • Same issue with Reference 29 "Are Flyers next? How Carter Hart won over his junior GM"
  • A similiar problem exists with Reference 36 "Hart named NHL Rookie of the Month for January"
  • Reference 48 "Carter Hart's Struggles Against Boston Continue As Flyers Rocked By Bruins At Lake Tahoe" is missing Associated Press as the agency
  • Reference 55 "Carter Hart in his element as Team Canada's starting goaltender at world juniors" is missing the fact it requires a subscription to read

Shall put the review on hold to allow the nominator to address or query the issues raised above MWright96 (talk) 11:39, 14 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

@MWright96: I believe all issues have been addressed! Looks like one Herald source got switched around. Kncny11 (shoot) 17:11, 14 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Improved to Good Article status by Kncny11 (talk). Self-nominated at 21:08, 14 March 2021 (UTC).[reply]

  • The hook is interesting. It became a Good Article in the past week. I don’t see copyright violations or lack of neutrality. QPQ has been done. Only thing I would change is the unnecessary pronunciation guide for his name because neither Carter nor Hart are pronounced differently than they are spelled. Change to free agent. Flyers have cut ties 98.114.99.60 (talk) 00:12, 4 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Not done He remains under contract with Philadelphia and is on leave. The NHL has not suspended Hart, nor has he been released from his contract, and the league continues to pay him. Bettman misspoke by saying "they're all free agents". — GhostRiver 00:46, 4 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
